Hi everyone. I suppose just call me Muz! I have a great love for all music and I of course have my favorites, as I am certain everyone does! NIN happens to be the top of the mountain for me! I enjoy many things but currently am working through a rather large vinyl collection my Dad acquired during his youth. So music and vinyl right now are the best of the best for me!

I was just about to introduce myself in a collection thread with my first post but I figured there's ought to be an "introduce yourself" thread. So here goes:

Name's Pawel (Paul in English, I guess). I'm from Poland, I'm 22 and been a NIN fan since 2009, fairly short time (they played a show in Poland just before I understood Trent's genious, lucky me).
I got introduced to NIN by its connection and often being compared to Tool which I was a huge fan of since I first saw Schism video on MTV. I have a dream of NIN coming to polish Woodstock festival, that would totally make my life complete.
Cheers!

John. 19. Live in Pensacola, FL.
Fan since With Teeth.
NIN actually came to Pensacola in late 2005 or early 2006 (icr), and my dad wouldn't let me go because I was "too young." To be fair, I was only ELEVEN at the time.. Shit, I was a pretty cool 11 year old. I'm also a huge NIN collector but then again, who isn't here?

I love NIN and bands similar and am a huge concert-goer now. I've already seen Muse, Phoenix, Smashing Pumpkins, The Offspring, Alice in Chains, The Black Keys, Deftones, and a bunch more... JUST THIS YEAR. (2013, for all you time travellers)

I've got my ticket to Voodoo Experience in NOLA later this year with NIN AND HTDA, so I can finally cross it off my bucket list. Oddly enough, I couldn't seem to get that into HTDA until I saw some of their Coachella performance on that good ol' internet. What the hell took them so long to play live and what the hell took me so long to like them? Feel free to message me if you want to meet up in NOLA in November for their show or about anything else. We're all bored some times. XD

Hi everyone,

My name is Kim, I am 33 and from NY. I just started listening to NIN again after a very long hiatus.

I first got into NIN in 1993 when I was the tender age of 14. I was pretty much obsessed (as we all get). Some of my foremost teenage memories involve the band. One thing I'll never forget happened during the summer of 1994. The Downward Spiral had been out for a few months but I didn't have the money to buy it right away. I finally was able to get it while my family and I were on vacation in Wildwood, NJ. These were the days before everyone had a portable CD player, so I had to wait until we went home to listen. But of course I opened up the package to read the liner notes, etc. The next morning in the hotel room, my father said to me very sternly "I looked at the lyrics to this stuff and I don't know if it's something you should be listening to." Of course I brushed him off, and he let it go. But somehow that has stayed with me forever. I suppose that's because when you think about it from a parents perspective, some of the um, subject matter...contained within might have been a bit much for a 14 year old girl. There also was the awkward as hell moment when I heard Closer for the first time in the car with my mother. Kind of weird sitting in the front seat with your mom while the man of your teenage dreams is singing about fucking. I was lucky enough to see NIN at Madison Square Garden. My friends and I camped out overnight in front of a store to get the tickets as these were the days before online ticketing. We got the very last of the bunch (according to the person manning the machine, anyway) and had to break our group up in order to get anything. We had terrible seats but the night was pure magic. The little known (at the time) Marilyn Manson opened up for them and I'll never forget when he yelled "How many 15 year old girls want to fuck me right now?" as he walked out onto the stage. Of course we screamed like the actual 15 year old girls we were.

I sort of fell out of love with NIN as years passed. It wasn't that I stopped liking the music. I suppose my tastes just went elsewhere -but never too far away, genre-wise. Maybe I wore myself out. It's hard to say. It took all the craziness of the Broken movie "release" earlier in the week for my interest to be piqued again. And now I am back to being hooked. Listening again is bringing back all these memories and feelings. It feels like coming home, as cheesy as that probably sounds. I honestly feel like NIN shaped some of who I am, and I feel this way because the music is doing something to me as I listen again, all these years later. Trent's lyrics and imagery were some of the first things that interested me in a coming-of-age-sexual way. It's when we're 14 and 15 years old and in the throes of obsession that these things can really stick with us.

Anyway that's my story. It's hard to believe this started 20 years ago, but it did. And here I am.

finally I register here. I'm Jens from germany and was made in the 70's. I know NIN since 1994. Collecting live recordings is a passion of mine.

I was very excited when NIN announced to return in 2013. I plan to see them in Paris this year. I hope they will play more shows in germany next year.
My fav NIN album is With Teeth and I love to anger my neighbours e.g. with the BYIT bluray.

Oh hi. My name is Liz; I live in Western MA and spend a lot of time in Boston, too. I've been listening since 1993 but never thought to do anything more than sporadically check the site for tour updates until now. (Just saw HTDA last night in Boston and it kind of reignited the bug!)

Won't bore you with my life story, but NIN was what I needed in high school and I'm glad I had it - I went from being a standard-issue suburban teen metalhead to becoming fascinated with all things electronic and experimental; I was also studying classical music at the time (big-time band geek; 4 years of h.s. marching band, hello!) and I appreciated the complexity of arrangement that I saw in the (loosely defined) electronic/experimental genre - but I always appreciated a good pop hook, too. Trent's music is one of the few things I listened to 20 years ago that truly stood the test of time.

Notable shows: the one at the Boston Garden in '94 when the fans ripped up all the chairs that were stupidly covering what later became a proper mosh pit. Unreal. I ended up reviewing that show in detail for my high school newspaper (see above, re: geek) and, to my astonishment, they actually printed it. (In hindsight, I should have included the f bombs and waited to see if anyone caught them.)

So if you see someone in a silver Accord speeding on the Mass Pike while angsting along to "Terrible Lie," give me a wave or a metal finger salute or whatever. (I'll be mortified that anyone saw me doing that, but...)

Hi nin forum!!

I'm Cassie. Been a fan of nin since I was 15... but really getting into them again now. I'm 23 now. I was a heroin addict for two years, I've been clean for about 8 months now.

Listening to nin as an angsty/depressed teenager I always felt I could really relate to the music.

Listening to nin while I was in active addiction I really felt I could relate.

Now, in recovery, I probably appreciate nin now more than ever because it really helps me to find the beauty through all of the pain.

sorry if that was too personal. just some thoughts. I'm excited to get to know some other fans and chat!!

I fell in love with NIN when I first watched 'And All That Could Have Been' around when it was released. I've since been lucky enough to see them a few times since 2006.

Notable shows were twice on the Lights In The Sky tour, including the Lollapalooza set. I also saw the Bonnaroo set where Trent mumbled some bullshit about last show on U.S. soil. Another notable was the Farewell Tour in Chicago. Shows in Champagne ('06), Milwaukee ('07) and Minneapolis ('08) were also very good.

Umm...I was a member of the last 'round' of The Spiral...got some laminates, a t shirt, and an I.D. card and then it was done so...yeah...that was kind of lame. Never was a member on ETS and I'm sure I have an account here already but really have no idea what the login might be.

Hello everyone....well with the news of NIN back in 2013, it's time to come back and start lurking/posting on all my favorite NIN forums once again!

I'm Jake and I've been on here since the NIN.com forums opened up and have been posting on Echoing the Sound as thefragile_jake since 2004. When the original site went down, I didn't actually rejoin again until last fall and have been slowly making my way around to posting as much as I did in almost a decade's time. I'll get there eventually...

I have been a super fan of Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails since 2001 and throughout all the music and bands I've been into or forgotten about over the years...it's amazing how much love I have for everything that is Nine Inch Nails. The Fragile is not only my favorite NIN record, but possibly one of my favorite records of all time. I have seen the band twice in my home town of St. Louis (2005/2008) and once in Kansas City (2009). With the announcement of a tour, I can't wait to make it a fourth time! Hopefully again in Stl...

Some of my other favorite bands include The Flaming Lips, Animal Collective, The Smiths, Radiohead, Yo La Tengo, Sigur Ros, Pedro the Lion, Boris and I also really enjoy the work of Kanye West, Tonetta, Deerhunter, Ariel Pink, MF Doom, Death Grips, American Football...and many many others. Check out my Last.fm here.

Since posting here, I recently graduated college and am currently looking for my career field job in advertising and marketing. I have been single for almost three years now. Throughout 2005-2009 I was in two serious relationships but haven't been able to find something as stable and nice since then, so we'll see where life takes me.

Whew. That was a lot. Anyway, hope everyone is well and look forward to chatting with you guys again!
