HALP! Anyone know how to translate guitar tabs to violin sheet music? I do not know the first thing about guitars but I know all about violin. Can anyone help me translate this song into violin sheet music? My friend who sent me the tabs at my request said he would translate them when he gets back from tour. But that wont be till the end of summer and I want them now. Thank you! Mega props to her! But I would advise you if you want to progress efficiently and at your best get a teacher/instructor who has been doing it for years. They will push you harder, challenge you more, get you into stage performances, develop your weaker areas and also provide great social support for you as well. Nothing against the little one, I am just speaking from personal experience. Though, I had both my grandmother, parents and instructor pushing me. Very musical family. I figure the less wriggle room for a student the quicker they will excel.

I'm learning from a girl who's studying at the local music academy who's younger than I am. :) I've been doing it for just over a year now and I only have just taken the stickers off the fingerboard. I'm sort of comfy in first position but everything else is a shambles. Just copy and paste the text of the tab that you have. I'd get rid of the instructions and asterisks so that the converter will read the tab more cleanly. You can add them back at the appropriate spot later. For the "3. Tab Layout" option I chose "Ignore spacing and play all notes equally". It'll spit out sheet music for you with all the notes being of equal time values. You won't be able to print it out unless you're a member of the site, but you can go nuts with the PrintScreen key to save the sheet music into something like Microsoft Word.

I've done it, and will send it to you in pdf. you'll have to listen to the track yourself to figure out the timing. The bar lines on the sheet music correspond to the end of each group of EADGBe in the tab.
