to me, what I feel is obvious is that it's about their relationship and all the drama that came with it.

trying to fill the spaces in between could be people's speculation.

how we chose the framing of the scene... how they let the whole thing unfold was up to them..

I will have to disagree with you. I liked the burning scene, especially
the very ending where the special FX really got the job done, amazing!
As for interpretation, since she is the one singing my blind guess is that
has the reason they died. He made some choices or decisions in witch he ended up with a big debit to the guy who appears really come and peaceful siting in hes chair.. .after he murdered them both! Judging from the come sounding vocals her love is the one who lie to her about hes problems or never mention anything about it. Makes you think about the future they could have had together...Shes death now there is not much left, but Hate standing the motel room, they are in. Can you feel anything when your death? I don't think so, do you? However, maybe if she had time to forgive him before she died, she would, but it all happened to quick.I don't know what inspired them "xcore" makes more sence with hes interpretation quite interesting. That's just how I see it. And to think, after all thus years I literally believe Trent Reznor can, still be impressive. That is a fare tale I can't seem to put together in my head and cant seem to understand. just like I don't understand the girl on the phone not sure what's up with that, so I guess "xcore" makes much more sence overall I really enjoyed the wideo as well, and I can see the happy future they both are shearing.

I think it makes total sense that they killed each other, and she seems posed because she would have sat there staring at Trent as she finished bleeding to death. It all happened while the other three were out of the room, and when they came back they just went about their business not even noticing that Trent and Mariqueen were dead. Like maybe the other three don't really care about those two anyway, they're just using them, and as long as they pretend nothing happened they can keep doing so.

RS: Yeah, for him it was very much about the neglect that has led a relationship to this-- the demise of love and passion. He was very specific in how the room caught fire and that they had killed each other, and how the people around them didn't really care.

RS: It's hard because you want to be elusive about what's going on but not so confusing that there was no train of thought. If you look closely, there's a knife next to Trent and Mariqueen's holding a spike of a champagne glass. You don't really know why the other girl is laughing on the phone rather than calling 911. There's something a little more disconcerting and creepy when the audience can play more of a part in figuring things out.

Maybe we are the ones in the room talking on the phone and watching the TV. :)
