I feel like people become different on the phone. So someone like my dad, grandma or anyone else that I know can call and its like I'm talking to a stranger. It makes me panic to hear someone is on the phone for me. Then I gotta make up some excuse.

i text 90% of the time...calling or answering phone calls is really nerve racking for me for some reason...making phone calls to anyone besides my mom or dad scares the shit out of me.

I love talking on the phone.I am def part of a dying breed. Over the past few years, I've succumb to the texting trend.I had to! No one is interested in talking on the phone anymore.

I totally still would though! During those last few years, the best part was hearing the shock in a person's voice when I called and then their awkwardness. I'm not an outgoing person or anything but I grew up on talking on the phone and having conversations in real life. Having to shift to texting has been more awkward to me but whatev.

I love talking on the phone to certain people. I feel that is this day and age that technology may bring us together, I feel more disconnected to everyone and everything.
I need in person or actual conversation to keep a relationship going and not just text them. I need a soul and a person there not a cold lifeless text. Texts do not convey as much information and are frustrating. ><

I hate talking to strangers on the phone with a fiery passion. Telemarketers especially, who don't know when to quit. I can never work up the nerve to just slam the phone down when they won't shut up.

I work a lot of nights and why is it that everyone and their mother feel the need to call my house at around 11am after I work a night shift. WTF don't call my house until 6pm cause if I'm on nights I'm just leaving and if I'm on days I'm still at work hahaha...I just hate talking on the phone.

Part of my job is to answer phones so when I am not at work and I hear a phone ringing and no one answers it I get so annoyed "would someone please get that phone! JUST pick it up everyone's doing it"
I tend to use text messages and email as a means of contact at home and only ever call my mum, if the phone rings at home I get my oldest son to answer it for me.

It's disturbing how addicting texting can become. When I had a phone, I chose to text people instead of just calling them up. I realized just how anti-social I had become over time. I think you kind of lose touch with what real communication is when you begin to indulge in all of these social networking sites, but who am I to talk? I have a twitter, facebook and a YouTube as well :P

PeedroPaula: I know exactly what you mean. A few months ago my mom had no idea how to even work a cell phone and now she texts more than I do. It's sort of eerie watching her fumble with her phone like an anxious teenager everytime the damn thing vibrates!

i hate talking on the phone (especially at work) with someone who mumbles and having to say "i'm sorry, what was that?" every other minute. i also hate when i can hear my voice echoing through the line!!!!

I always screen my calls and generally dislike talking on the phone. I also don't like overhearing other people's cell phone calls. And I HATE it when I am out with someone and they text.

The main person I answer the phone for is my Husband... I'm not a big phone talker. I barely even text to be honest. My whole family is on Facebook so I keep in touch that way.

I normally don't mind talking on the phone. But it does annoy me when someone knows that I'm at the moment extremely busy and expect me to drop everything to talk about something that has been told to me already several times. I also get annoyed when anyone calls me really often during the day....like if someone calls me almost every fifteen to thirty minutes in a day.

Yeah, I HATE talking on phones. It's just that awkward pause that gets on my nerves, something that doesn't seem to happen in person you know. The only time I don't mind talking on the phone is with women, since YOU HAVE TO talk to them and NOT TEXT, but also with poeple out of state, those things I don't mind.

My biggest problem though is only with people whom talk to me on the phone that live right around the corner, like if you're on the phone with me more than 10min having a conversation, just come over to my place or I'll meet you somewhere.

I can't stand it. I prefer talking in person, or through writing. When I'm on the phone, I usually don't really know what's going on. It always feels like an empty conversation. Talking in person gives you a much clearer view of what someone is trying to say because you can read their body language. Writing also gives you more time to think and reflect on what you're going to say.
