The California Free Former skateboard is the original banana board that countless kids first learned how to skate on (and fall off of). Its a neck-breaking slalom-type skateboard with a nylon plastic deck that has some hardcore flexibility. It is not an easy thing to ride, but its a lot of fun (and a little dangerous) to learn. We may never know exactly how many emergency room visits were instigated by this particular model, but we would bet the number is impressive.

My dad had that skateboard and he passed it on to us when he grew up. We used to go to the top of the hill, sit on the board and then ride down. We never learned to use it correctly.

Yes that was cool when I was a kid. there were also these things that went on the hand grip that made a revving noise when twisted; a la motor bike brm brm.

Listening to America's top 40 on (I think it was a Saturday, our aussie one was Friday night). I'd stay up late and talk to my friends on the phone so we could discuss and predict the top 10. We already knew the Aussie and UK top 40s well in advance as they were released on a Wednesday at Brashes music stores.

Playing mouse trap, what a stupid game that was.
Playing with ouija boards, which was a really stupid thing to do.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Battle Beasts were a cool toy, that little sticker on their chest that you rubbed and it revealed their symbol was sweet. I remember taking these to grade school and my friends and I playing with them outside at recess… good times. If these were still sold in stores, I’d go buy them all now.

Does anyone else remember playing with one of these a lifetime ago…
