Not so controversial, but I am convinced that the Greatest Hits will be almost exactly - if not exactly - the same as The Definitive NIN - The Singles, only with two new songs.

Also (here's where it gets controversial), How To Destroy Angels just... fails to impress me as a live band. Too much of their performances are pre-recorded. I suspected it would be that way, too. With Teeth is a great album despite a lot of hate from critics and other people in the biz, not to mention many NIN fans. It felt modern, it felt like a 'return,' and it was powerful in terms of the vibe some of those songs put off.

I'd bet that All The Love In The World would be one of the best slow type songs to be performed live. It is also excellent on record.

The Beginning Of The End and The Good Soldier are the best tracks on Year Zero. Ironic since, in my opinion, neither of them feel like they should be on the record.

The Fragile > The Downward Spiral

Now I'm Nothing should be done in a studio.

Non-Entity is the best b-side.

Only half of The Slip is all that cool.

HTDA should have stayed in the vein of the first EP if they were going to perform live. While I am excited for the Chicago HTDA show and seeing how they do it...I think the An Omen EP and Welcome Oblivion won't stand the test of time.

*edit* I'm glad Trent isn't the man he was in the 90s. If he were, maybe he'd be dead? I am more excited about Welcome Oblivion than a NIN greatest hits album ( I have almost 300 NIN tracks on my iphone....obsessed much.. :) ) in other words I have all the "greatest hits" some of them in 5 different versions!
