Waste of money/time IMO.

That said, if they're only doing festivals this year then I suppose beggars can't be choosers.

02/10/09 10:06 AM

IT SUCKS CAUSE IT WILL SELL OUT IN ONE DAY? AND NIN IS NOT YET CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and i don't wanna buy anything without nin)

02/17/09 9:15 AM

with those news in mind I really really hope it wont be festivals only :-(.
I do like festivals but if you really want to enjoy just this one band, its a waste of money and there are allways more drunken assholes on a festival than on a regular show.
*Hopes*

festivals suck. especially in Austria.

anyway, if trent plays the same show like yesterday, I dont't think it's worth the money to attend the show. Well, I would, but it's quite disappointing indeed.

In the last year since July, I was attending every single NIN show of the Lights In The Sky Tour via youtube. It was amazing and gave me hope to see such an amazing show in Europe as well. 31 songs, great highlights, just a perfect show.

Now I checked on yesterday's show to learn, that it's a 20 song show without a keyboarder, the beautiful last experience with "in this twilight" I was longing for disappeared, he didn't even perform "Closer". The georgeous light effects disappeared as well.

So in my opinion, Trent doesn't care about his fans in Europe, Asia, and Australia, he cares about his fans in America... shows them the great side of NIN, we're getting the rest. thx.

02/18/09 11:01 AM

As much as I'm looking forward to this...I just watched some videos from Auckland...I'm upset at how non-insane the lighting in Gave Up and March of the Pigs is! sad smiley

The lights in Burn and Wish are fucking epic though, heh (as usual).

I would rather choose regular shows than festivals too.

But did you really think that they would bring all those massive equipment and sets from LITS to European tour? It would be awesome, true, but extremely expensive and time-consuming and hard to put that plan into practice. It's not about "not caring about European fans", it's more an economic choice, I think.
After all, isn't this what Trent promised? a stripped-down, simple tour with no extra fuss, just music and great atmosphere.
I would have loved to see LITS-show, but I think this kind of tour can be great too, I'm excited.

02/18/09 4:57 PM

But he already said the next tour is gunna just be plain old NIN..

and none of the flashy light etc..
(see what i did there :p)

they want it just to be about the music this time...

not to mention it was uber expensive last time!!

02/19/09 4:18 AM

well, but it's less for the light as for the music.

come on, a NIN show without "Closer"? I was really looking forward to the setlist of the 2008 LITS tour. It was a freaking great mixture of all NIN albums ever released. My point is, that the people in America got a great opportunity to see two hours of a great show and brilliant music, but what do the other continents get?

It's ok if Trent has the opinion that he doesn't need a keyboarder anymore, but I don't think it's a fair solution if he just doesn't play the songs where he usually needs one.

Personally, "Closer" is not even my favourite song, but I just want to attend one more show to scream "I WANNA FUCK YOU LIKE AN ANIMAL" smiling smiley

02/19/09 5:27 AM

No aeroplanes in Austria?

Come on, we've been over this time and time again, it's not worse, it's just different.

you obviously never attend a nin-show before.
i'm glad they swith a bit, cause everytime hurt,closer,.. can get boring.
for me personally Wish,March of the Pigs,Terrible Lie,... may also be changed in a Ruiner, The Becoming, Last and al lot of The Fragile.

But screaming for Closer? come oooon...

I agree. Changing setlists are always good.
I would like to hear Ruiner, Big man with a gun and Home.

im really hoping they come over to London for a couple of dates. It's been so long now (2 years is a long time to me). Im kinda panicking that it will sell out too quickly for me to get a ticket!!!
Oh the worries i have!!!

02/19/09 5:37 PM

I don't care if it's just about the music, because that's fine to me, I will always find NIN exciting -
All I would ask for is the LED screens for Me,I'm Not, Great Destroyer etc - I would love to see them, I saw them in Brixton 3 times last time in 2007 and it was just before Year Zero was released so we didn't get them ,and by the time they played Reading, I was pregnant, so seriously not up to standing in a field. I know they used them a few other times but they were for gigs which had previously been blown out so I assumed I wouldn't get tickets

I attended a show in 2007 and was very glad about the cool setlist.

(see: [www.ninwiki.com] )

It was cool and a great mixture of all albums released until then. And after watching all the cool shows of the LITS tour in the US I expected the next Vienna show to be more impressing and greater than the show I've seen.

It's just sad there will be less Year Zero songs than in the previous tour, it's sad that songs like "Last", "Ruiner", "Piggy", "Sin", "The big come down", "Eraser" can't be expected anymore. Or "Down In It".
It's cool that he plays "The line begins to blur", though.

Well, let's see. During the "Performance 07" tour the setlist was switched all the time. That was a bit annoying, I would have liked to see Hyperpower & The beginning of the End live as well smiling smiley

I don't think it's bad if every show has one, two songs which are played all the time! these are like the most popular songs of NIN so why not? It would be boring if it would be played like on the Fragility tour, when there was no difference between the album version of closer and the version played live. now, with the "only time" breakdown and the heavy guitar during the second verse it's just cool smiling smiley

all i can think about right now is THAT performance of 'the downward spiral' in australia and how much i wanna hear it in europe (hopefully not at a shitty festival for people who havent a clue about music)

well, I guess it's quite difficult to perform these songs without keyboard/synthesizer dudes like cortini was. I know Trent is a Genious, but I doubt he can play 2 or 3 instruments at once.

Down In It is never quite sure in a setlist...

And I know, possibility would be to use pre-recorded stuff, but I'm not quite a fan of that possibility... sounds like "Mini Playback Show" for grown ups.

Well, I am sure I overreacted before, I am just a little bit disappointed that I couldn't see a LITS performance live and hoped it would be the same in Europe... I am quite looking forward to attending a NIN concert AS SOON AS POSSIBLE smiling smiley

Well people are most likely to talk about the countries they're going to see shows in. Most of the people posting so far have been from the UK, so surprise! most of the discussion has been about the UK.

but i notice u brits are like the fucking americans you consider yourselves the only ppl on this fucking planet.''oh i hope they london'' ''oh i hope they play manchester'',of course they are going to fucking play london its the capital city.i hear so many of you guys winge but yet you will get a tour i might not even see them on this tour.neither will alot of ppl.but at the end of the day its not NIN fault and i know that but will you guys ever shut the fuck up.
