Cut 5$ off the price of the ticket and have no opening band, how about that...

I agree. Our opening act sucked. I checked out all the others at youtube. They sucked as well. Just my opinion.

I thought DIOYY were an unlikely but excellent choice for this tour. I've seen them live and they're great.

Got into Ladytron as a result of the last UK tour. IAMX would be my choice for the next UK tour - if you're reading this Trent...

I'm casting my vote for Caroliner as the opening band for all future shows.

Hi Trent,

I know that you are looking forward to come to Spain, I know it. But sure you don't know who is going to be your support band here. I am thinking on suggesting you a group named "Femme fatale". It is a really good Spanish group with two LP out. They have few followers but their music is really good. Please, listen their music, sure you like it! (specially the last album, which has the same title “Femme fatale”. You can find it at emule superstore) Of course, I want to clarify, I am only a fan of the group, I don’t have any economical or any other interest on it.

how about Crystal Castles, longer set and more dates?? They didn't even open in Toronto and it's their hometown.

By all accounts they don't translate well into arenas, as for openers when the NIN guys are in Europe, I'd loooove to see Pendulum open up for them:

If that doesn't get you in the mood, I don't know what will, translate well live aswell.
pendulum would b pretty beast openeing for them, but they've got such an intense show already i doubt they'd like to open for anybody, anyone who gets the chance should see them

Pendulum are well known for doing practically anything as long as the pay is right, thats why they've been at practically every festival this year and even performed at Warwick University's freshers ball. I wouldn't put it past them opening for NIN, I don't think it's likely, but then QOTSA did and QOTSA are biggger than Pendulum IMHO.

I think they should give a local band a chance as opener.

Thats what happened at the recent cleveland show, Nickolas Migalais opened and was quite impressive.

I personally love all openers I've seen play for NIN, even though some people around me in the pit are like "wtf is this??". It exposes you to new aspects and different types of music.

09/22/08 1:05 PM

I would prefer a night with NIN, no opener.

But I would recommend -
Made Out Of Babies/Battle of Mice

If Mike Patton toured with NIN my head would explode!

09/22/08 1:08 PM

UNKLE or Bad for Lazzarus, dont you miss Rich?

OMGMANSONWTF! NO, kidding.

Ohgr! Though I suppose we'd have a better shot at getting T-Rex on the bill than that...

09/23/08 12:58 PM

RADIOHEAD!(yeah right)

Man, Mike Patton would be crazy!

But i think The Faint would be way up there.
Maybe InnerPartySystem or Genghis Tron.

How about Skinny Puppy opening for NIN. That would be a treat.

I can dream.

09/23/08 6:10 PM

Saul Williams !!!!!!!!!!!! Hello Especially since Trent Helped him with the new album I was really bumped that i was out of town and missed Sauls tour for the new album.

Other bands i would like to see open for NIN:
CombiChrist (I think Nin fans would love this band)
Tweaker (Featuring ex Nin member)
Stabbing Westward (original members he he)
Vnv Nation
Marilyn Manson (yeah right)

I like the idea of local bands, actually. Once, some weird Australian local opened for them. They were absolutely fabulous, and their frontman had oodles of goth charisma. 'I'm sorry if my voice sounds bad,' this dude goes. 'It's broken, just like my heart.'

that was 'The Follow', or as they are now called 'theart'

09/25/08 4:11 PM

No more Indie Rock bands. Please!!

09/25/08 4:16 PM

See you are all expecting trent to pick already established bands to open for him, when I think the point is to:

a) expose your fanbase to new music and artists that you enjoy (I got into APTBS because of the tour, they were great)

b) get exposure for a widely lesser known band and help them out through your success.

I also got into Boris because of their announcement on the tour, they're REALLY fucking good and i'm kinda pissed I dont get to see them live (c'est la vie.)

my two cents again.

09/25/08 5:19 PM

The Arctic Monkeys. They have a blatant disregard for record companies to the point that they used to refuse to allow record company reps backstage after shows. --That was BEFORE they had a record deal. Their music kicks ass, and although different from NIN, has it's own sort of vibe going on that could work well for an opening act.

Of course, some of you will think I'm crazy. but there's my two cents.

just so you know (excluding me, almost every nin fan hates metropolis records, i myself love those bands, and have seen them around 3-8 times a piece)

Did you know that NIN was the opening band for Skinny Puppy on tour for a few shows in 1988? Apparently they weren't happy with the quality of NIN's performances.

WHEN COME TO COLOMBIA. WHWN COME TO COLOMBIA.

09/28/08 1:49 AM

The Protomen

no gonna lie, i can see them as a opener. They are a smaller type band whos release follows a story and have a good stage look. And the songs are a mix of everything.

everyone, even trent if he looks at these, check out The Protomen

09/28/08 2:54 AM

What the hell is this topic ?
Do we have to decide about the opening acts ? No way !

Just enjoy the bands NIN took with them, it's about discovering new people, new sounds...

09/30/08 10:59 AM

Jesu would be nice... for a European tour.

09/30/08 12:36 PM

Kudos for the thread idea! This is something they might actually take into account, I think.

Erykah Badu
Soulwax
We Are Scientists
Yelle
Justice
Fuck Buttons
The Kiss-Off

Some are already quite established acts, but I think NIN could pull off having them as support, if Ladytron were considered the right size sort of band. Also, I think Gary Numan is enough of a fanboy to do it willingly.

10/01/08 2:19 PM

I think Trent Should get One Eyed Doll to open in San Antonio.

10/01/08 4:27 PM

I think any of these would be awesome.

Black Light Burns
Pitchshifter
Acumen Nation
Pendulum
16 Volt
Godhead
Zeromancer
Useless I.D
The Loved Ones

10/01/08 6:44 PM

I would die happy if I ever got to see Pinionist open for Nine Inch Nails.
