NOTE: Four tracks from Ghosts were played at the 7/19/08 Secret Show in LA. No solid confirmation on which four is currently available, but speculation says it was 1, 6 or 8, 31, and a fourth unknown.

NOTE: Nothing from Fixed, Things Falling Apart, or other remix "singles" has been played, other than the list of non-LP songs below.

ADDENDUM: Samples from the Happiness in Slavery remix on Fixed were featured in the Pukkelpop 2007 performance of The Great Destroyer.

NOTE: A Warm Place has NEVER been played live, despite some bootlegs having it listed. For example, "Nails in My Head" from New Year's 1995 in Detroit has A Warm Place listed but the track is actually The Downward Spiral (without vocals).

My question is, Why hasn't he played "Something I can never have" from PHM since 1994? I think I am correct about the year, if not sorry? But still good question

they were on the With Teeth PDF, some people thought they were just random things, some people thought they might be hidden tracks, etc., but supposedly they were the start of an ARG, that nobody caught on to until the YZ one.

so they are not songs then? i was keeping tabs on the whole crazy arg shit since with teeh but never heard of this either.

for topic: i don't give a shit about the other tracks, The Perfect Drug is the one they need to play live, at least once! come on trent, you have freese, he is a psychotic drummer, take advantage of him, rape him! hahahahaaa

As said see beside you intime or the 2006/7 European tours. I saw him do it at least twice so I can confidently say he is still palying it (or was I guess - I haven't been following the US setlists too closely).

08/25/08 9:09 PM

I've always thought that the extra sets of lyrics from W_T shouldn't really count as "songs" for this purpose, but it doesn't really matter a lot.

08/28/08 3:49 AM

I thought I remembered Gone, Still being played at Bridge School, went over to the old thread on the spiral and found this:

"Set list was mostly right, but "Gone, Still" was also played, but only by the string quartet. Beautifully done."

So, since it was the string quartet, does it not count?

Also, See the studio version which is as good as live. mmm

08/30/08 5:06 PM

Something I Can Never Have was definitely featured on the Winter 05 and Summer 06 tours. Don't know about the Fall 05 but I bet he played it then too.

And TPD needs to get played, but I've been told that Trent doesn't really like the song much anymore, then there's the bit about that whole drum solo being hard to play. When you have a guy like Josh, I would certainly make the most of it and play that damn song!

I would LOVE to hear "where is everybody" live. It's my favorite NIN song ever. Love it. Love it. Love it.

09/03/08 3:50 PM

Well just listen closely, songs like perfect drug are way too long and way too difficult. Imagine the guys playing that kind of songs plus another 10+ songs straight?

09/03/08 6:42 PM

They played A Perfect Drug in Oakland a few years back.. Im sure!!!
I know cause I shrieked then creamed my pants

09/03/08 6:59 PM

Maybe I'll get lucky with AATCHB.

A girl can dream, right?

Seems this is one of the most asked questions of NIN fans: "Has _______ ever been played live?" Well don't bother asking again! Just refer to this handy-dandy list. Trust me: if its on this list, it's never been played (at least in a public setting).

I'll update as songs are debuted.

If by "a few years back" you mean November '05, no they didn't. I was there. As far as unusual songs/songs from soundtracks during that set, they did play Deep and Dead Souls.

I personally want to hear (besides TPD along with everyone else) Where is Everybody? and Demon Seed. I'd also love to hear La Mer and The Big Comedown, which I know they've played, but I've not seen live in person (I know they're on AATCHB and BYIT).

The Pefect Drug would be awesome live but I am with Jazzie on Where is Everybody? being played live. I am still pist that I have never seen TRENT play Heresy, The Becoming, or Mr. Self-Destruct or more songs from PHM. I have been a fan since I was like 5 or 6 (mom owned a record store), when PHM first came out. I've been going to shows for the past 10 years, the tour with APC, and he has still not played those in the DC area. But this past show at Virgin Fest was by far the best that I have seen, especially with Robin back (just wish there was more destruction or getting down with the crowd)... but Echoplex live is amazing especially with the LED lights and Josh Freese

I would love aatchb, perfect drug and where is everybody. Also agree with you mnelson220, the becoming would be cool too, especially if it was done kinda like the perfomance in the still videos.

09/04/08 9:28 AM

I think I would sell my entire NIN collection just to hear And All That Could Have Been live...

09/04/08 9:35 AM

I would kill to hear Where is Everybody? That's one of my top 2 or 3 songs form The Fragile.

09/04/08 11:48 AM

"My dead friend"
spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

09/04/08 12:41 PM

i've seen NIN between 35 and 40 times and have never heard Hersey, which is one on my fav's.

nice. is that the mystery song that was on the spiral poster?

09/04/08 5:38 PM

I would die happily if i heard And All That Could Have Been live

09/04/08 9:21 PM

Yea Hersey would be so fucking bad ass and I have seen it on youtube and that is as close as I have gotten.... but The Becoming is by far one of my favorite songs along with AATCHB.... I think TRENT should stop playing all the hits, I know some people love them but I have been going to a lot of NIN shows and sometimes you just want them to hurry up with those (but not Hurt, cuz that is a classic to close with)... I wanna see them play Kinda I Want To... Something I Can Never Have is amazing live, that is another favorite and Burn live is amazing.... I saw NIN in DC and TRENT played the first two chords of Burn and the crowd was silent and I went ape shit and screaming and TRENT looked down in my area and said, "yea" which was pretty fucking awesome....
