When I saw this poster, I got so excited. Not only because it looks AMAZING, but because it looks like Rob's art piece "Troublemaker," at least with the lines. And that means it matches my tattoo of the lines from Troublemaker!

This means I *HAVE* to buy one.

For comparison in case you don't know: Troublemaker
My tattoo

I often wonder what possesses someone to post things like this. I'm certainly not saying everyone should agree on things, but what are you adding to a conversation with a comment like this?
Does it validate you in some way - that you've decided something is "crap" that other people like?

What is it about the internet that empowers and encourages people to ignore any sense of decorum or manners?

I am curious as to what the t-shirts will look like this weekend. And if the merch booth has only the few things mentioned on twitter. The poster looks very cool.

And that post was just as unconstructive as you said mine was.

Seeing as you just quoted Trent - look, he also thinks that "not everyone should agree on things". Where did I decide that SOMETHING OTHER PEOPLE LIKED was crap? Nowhere did my post imply "and you must all hate the design too now/and your opinion sucks". Where did I lack decorum and manners? All I said was that it held no meaning for me - I was explaining why I didn't buy the shirt, and provided some constructive criticism. What's bad about that? The crucifix holds no meaning for me either, but that doesn't mean I'm berating all Christians - I just won't buy a necklace with it on, which would be a shame if it was being sold in my favourite shop and in my favourite colour. Why does it bother you so much that I didn't like the design?

And what does my age have to do with it? You don't seem to think that you've misinterpreted my original like tags20 suggested [forum.nin.com] so I really don't understand

If it's just that you don't like negative comments, why aren't you having a go at Ashburndaride for saying the Asian merch was too limited, or xilang for his/her comments on sizing, or migsev's comments on the quality of last year's shirts, or ninful's comments on the quality of this year's shirts?

*new post to draw a line under that*

Anyway, what I came in here for was to see what people thought of these babies:

Twitter also says

Merchandise that will be available at the upcoming shows: dateback tee, event tee, women's tee, tanktop, tour poster, city poster. There will be an event tee for each individual show (excluding V Fest).

- I hope the women's tee is nice, and ideally has dates too
- I hope the tanktop is for girls
- Interested to see what these event tees will look like design wise. Got a couple of weeks to figure out if I want to get one to each show or not - spend money on stuff I'll never wear, or regret not having the memorabilia?

Apparently gorny will be doing lots of live tweeting from Bowery - I'm going to be stuck to twitter all weekend!

This may be a stupid question, sorry if it was mentioned in the thread and I missed it - but does anyone know if the NIN merch booths usually accept debit/credit cards?

I remember being able to use my debit at an ohGr merch booth and that was a tiny venue, but I haven't bought any merch at a Nails show in a while. I'm trying to figure how much cash to have on me on certain days.

08/21/09 12:10 PM

I used my debit card to buy $200 worth of stuff at Chula Vista. It should be no problem. I rarely carry more than $20 cash these days.

Anyone going to any of the NY shows.... take pics of the merch!

08/21/09 1:11 PM

I used my debit at the last Chicago show, I'm hoping they let people use debit/credit at these last few shows as well.

And yes, pics of merch NYers, please!!

I am not here to be negative in any way - just want to make the experience more memorable merch-wise. I know with the music industry's drastic changes it has changed how artists can recoup their costs, but can you look into upgrading te quality of the tour t-shirts? I don't mind spendin 35 or 40 bucks - i want you to make money on me, but can i get a shirt that will last more than a couple washings?

I am not here to bash - been a die hard for a while, just want to make the experience better and last longer.

i hear you. got vintage non concert nin, ani, tool, nirvana. also a the roots t. had it made. i buy their releases. justified making a t im good with. the vintage feel good. quality. tour shirt, not so much. i hear you about not caring about price for quality. 867/667 thingy started there for me. my eye says its the baddest shirt there. im up to buy. i said something like ... i want the 867. conversation amongst those around as purchased. pretty cool. my first tour shirt. want to know what its about. of all i have, worn only ani long sleve RBR. when i put tour t on, want to know what its about and it feel quality comfortable. and last a gazillion years. seeing everything, that i know of, coming from nin and trent is quality, surprised at thinking how this shirt will wear. i digress. i dig vintage clothes. dug the experience as you have too. anyone still following along i want to note theres a vintage nin clothes forum somewhere in nin.com. pretty cool stuff.

$30 for a shirt? That's $5 less than during NIN|JA.....that's a sweet deal.

08/22/09 7:22 PM

Anyone know what size the girls shirts and tanktops go up to? I wear a large comfortably in regular tees, but would love one of each of these shirts. And are girls tees the same price as mens?

08/22/09 7:55 PM

Anyone willing to pick me the show posters for the NYC? I'd pay for cost, shipping, and extra for the help. Drop me a line. I'll be going to the Chicago dates and if allowed will get extras.
