I've got good news and bad news

good news

as seen here [www.ticketmaster.com]

the ticket prices for the Maryland show are listed as $40-$75 which looks like it will be the base range for the tour

bad news

the photo for the show is of Jane's Addiction, maybe another sign that they might be headlining

In the Please Note box ...
Tickets are void if resold.
Janes Addiction will close.
Also scheduled to appear: Street Sweeper

I wonder if they are gonna take turns closing.

Janes has it as a co headline tour on their site, looks like it.

Where are you getting info that it's $75? And what kinds of tickets are $75? GA? Lawn? Seat?

Is that the "special superfan" seating that they're talking about? Fucking motherfuckers I hope they die in a fire.

DTE ticket prices...

Price: $65, $45 pavilion and $25 lawn.

I feel like the only one who is super annoyed that they won't just tell us the prices for each show already. I mean, SERIOUSLY, some of us are buying for ourselves and someone else and sort of need to know what price range to be looking in! *sigh*

03/13/09 5:59 PM

I'm sorry, but what is "DTE"?

Edit: DUH. Thanks.

You are not the only one. The prices aren't pissing me off nearly as much as playing detective to find them. Few things are more irritating than people making it hard for you to give them money.

if anyone knows what the prices are for West Palm Beach May 8th show, please let me know, thanks. I want to know how much I should expect to spend.

The only way we will know if ticket prices are too high is with sales. The market will clearly let us know if the prices are too high.

Im excited that here in Chicago, JA isnt tagging along. Hopefully more NIN for us!

03/14/09 12:45 AM

I think some of you are crazy. I'm thrilled to be able to see this experience. It's like seeing Jordan, Ali or Stevie Wonder. Each is at the very top of the profession.

I know NIN will invent later and do it all again. I'll be there.

I say thanks for doing what they do. I love it.

On a side note, I'm in a position to pay. I won't pay for close seats. I don't consider any seats to be poor ever. Some are just better. I'll play for further seats and consider myself spoiled last 2 concerts. I knew i was at the time anyways smiling smiley

+ this way I can go twice for reasonable money.

I just called the Chicago venue and the lady said that they update Livenation as they receive information. She had no listing for a pit and no ticket prices at this time. So whatever is on Livenation.com is all the venues know, and at this point it seems they are just as clueless as we are. So give the venues a break, and buckle down and try to keep your sanity until the presales are unleashed.

I don't think anyone is talking about reseller prices in this thread. I'm glad he mentioned it, though. I'm surprised how many people don't seem to know how that works.

Don't buy for other outlets!!!

Trent twittered this morning warning/knowing about these "parasites" and their inflated prices.

DO NOT BUY from them...and they are not a representation of what TR wants people to spend!

03/14/09 1:49 PM

I'm confused, too. How are ANY tickets being offered before presales and public sales. So much for keeping the tickets out of the hands of the scalpers. confused smiley

03/14/09 1:52 PM

So... I can't get into the pit unless I pay for the highest, right?

I guess I'm willing to do that as long as it's 150$ or less, and NIN plays a full set. But I'll have to forget going to 2 shows.

Some resellers will take whatever they can get before tickets even go on sale, then pay face value for a bunch of tickets and distribute them to the people they already ripped off. (Notice it often says "possible upgrade" on those sites. They don't even know what they are going to have yet.) I suppose they could also be reselling sponsor tickets. Either way, ignore them.

03/14/09 2:19 PM

Thanks for the answers, trust me I had no intention of paying overinflated prices, I was just curious how this could even happen. I assumed that zero tickets would be available prior to the presale. Trust me Ill be F5-ing all day on Monday. smiling bouncing smiley

in reference to the title of this post, a bit?

a little story...before i joined the spiral, in february of 2006 i bought 4 tickets for the cincity show for the winter with_teeth tour...i only count 3 of them because one of them i was reimbursed for....

3 tickets for that show, with 2 of them being relatively decent seats, cost me around 145$ WITH surcharges and building fees....flash forward to 2 1/2 years later, and it cost more than that just for 1 bloody ticket....

i have NEVER paid more than 50$ for a ticket for ANY show.....festivals or just bands on tour...i think 50$ is the most i've ever paid for a show, and that's with seeing nin 6 times, family values 3 times, korn's tour with no name, so on and so forth...and the majority of the concerts i've been to were general admission and haven't even cost that much....

you'd think with the economy being how it is right now you'd think they'd want people to be able to get to their show without breaking the bank...especially because, from my days in the spiral, i know several people that go to a LOT of shows...and if you buy two ga tickets for more than 3 shows your spending out over a grand just for the tickets before surcharges and so forth....i understand people needing money and shit, but i wouldn't pay 150$ to see the doors, the beatles, the eagles, aerosmith, and eric clapton (yes i know that some aren't around anymore just an example sheesh)..

don't get me wrong, i've been a nin fan for over 13 years now....but i couldn't care less about jane's addiction or street sweeper personally....and there are bands that have been around as long as, or longer, than both those bands that aren't charging that much for tickets....

i guess, we'll see what happens, and more power to the people who are going to put themselves in debt to see this band...
