I agree.

Do not misjudge what I say, I have been a huge NIN fan since I first heard Heresy in the mid 90s and they really do deserve a lot more credit than they get, but this is not Switzerland and we all do not make $80,000 just for being a secretary.

It surprises me that NIN, a band who preaches against the music industry screwing people over $25 albums, can have these ticket prices. $150 is just insane and $75 is better but still a bit pricey for those of us who want to see more than one or two shows. (Point understood that, there are crappy, cheaper tickets available, but face it, none of us want the crappy seats.) And that does not even cover the massive amounts of "service fees" if we end up having to use Ticketbastard.

It sucks because I am sure a lot of us have had to cut back on what might be NIN's final tour/for quite some time because of it.

I know no good comes from ranting and whining, but it is still disappointing and it totally sucks.

i went to see LITS and sat in the lower level facing the stage.. tickets were i believe $60 or something.. doesn't seem too bad to me considering the amount of money and effort put into the lights and effects for that tour..

i think NIN can get away with somewhat higher ticket prices because that is where the bulk of their income is coming from now that they dont have the support of a record label. trent has done wonderful things with making his recorded music available to all at minimal cost, i think the concert tickets being a little higher is understandable.

on the multiple concerts thing.. maybe its just me but going to ONE concert is a luxury for me.. let alone two or more.. thank your lucky stars

03/09/09 2:07 PM

besides.. the market ultimately decides if the price is too high.. as soon as people stop buying tickets because they cant afford them or decide its not worth the price, the price would be adjusted.

03/09/09 2:09 PM

"Point understood that, there are crappy, cheaper tickets available, but face it, none of us want the crappy seats"

Then I guess you see why they have 150/75/45 tiered pricing.

03/09/09 2:19 PM

Is that what the tickets cost for the upcoming tour? Damn! Ouch! I should have checked that out before offering to pay for this round.

03/09/09 2:25 PM

seriously if all shows are this 150 shit I will be surprised if I can make one show. In this economy that is steep. This isnt U2 or madonna or britney. I was expecting $100 but 150 come on now. Like many fucking people I am unemployed i cant afford that.

Maybe instead of one with my girl, ill have to hit two alone...up to her if she really wants to go i guess she'll find a way.

03/09/09 2:37 PM

I'm still waiting until the other presales are announced before I go apeshit, it could be something about the venue or any other number of factors that jack the price up, so I'm still giving NIN the benefit of the doubt.

03/09/09 2:41 PM

Ok, I now put NIN up there with Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles for ridiculous ticket prices. thumbs down

03/09/09 3:41 PM

Back in the day people would laugh at me for paying $150 to scalpers for FRONT ROW.

Someone take me!!!!!

03/09/09 3:04 PM

I saw this coming, why i knew i would not be able to make a show unless they come to town,i was able to go to Seattle/Portland show last year that's only because they were close now they gonna be out in the middle of no where and i don't have the cash for a overnight stay,i am unemployed and could only afford a 50/60$ ticket these prices are a bit steep not sure how some of you can afford it with the way things are.Very sad that not everyone going to be able to see what could possibly be the last NiN showsad smiley

03/09/09 3:22 PM

i can't afford to go to this tour either, but mostly because they are not coming to minnesota (yet)

remember there are 3 groups playing on this tour, that will generally bring up the price, especially since all 3 groups are pretty high profile. its not just NIN and a couple random opening acts. i would say that these tickets are probably appropriately priced. it sucks that a lot of us can't afford them but there are plenty of people who will be able to, otherwise they would not be priced as they are.

03/09/09 3:27 PM

:Update:

Awesome..the ticket prices are lookin' good for my area now !

I just saw the prices- WTF? Are pre-sale tix more expensive?

I'm not going to judge yet since it's one show posting prices, but I planned on going to the Vegas show. If a KC venue is $150.00, then LV = $$,$$$.$$

My ass! LITS didnt sell out though it should have..why up this one so much??...this is Janes addiction and a solo project opener. Not U2 or kanye or shit like that. $100 is ok 150? is not priced well

if I go I guess im in the shit seats.

It is insane. I was looking forward to front row seats, looks like I'm now going for the $75 ones, that sucks. I'm already traveling 6 1/2 hours to see them since there are no Minnesota dates and now they want to rape me for $150! guess I won't be making it to more than one show!

03/09/09 3:49 PM

Can't afford two $75 tickets (and we don't want to be further back than that) so we're electing not to go. I understand that you get three bands for the price and that it will be fantastic, etc. etc. But the simple fact is neither of us are particularly interested in the other two bands and would much rather Nine Inch Nails was performing with a band nobody has heard of so we could get decent seats for $50-$60 each. Maybe it's the fault of the venue, but it still sucks. I don't care how fabulous the sound quality is - if I'm paying to see a band live then I want to be able to SEE them.

Im starting to hope and sorry guys that this is just kansas getting fucked.

03/09/09 3:54 PM

I saw them back in November and I was super close. I paid 50 dollars for that ticket and it was worth it. What makes me mad is that half the people that are paying for the 150 dollar tickets won't be nearly as close as I was when I paid 50. I tried to convince my mom to get the 75 dollar tickets- but I'm taking a friend and there's just no way financially. So I'm going with the lame 50 dollar level 3 seating. It just makes me mad that I'm paying the same amount as I did last show- and I was spectacularly close. But it's NIN- so I feel inclined to go. Plus- the mention of this being a 'hiatus' or 'break' whatever, I don't want to miss it.

150 is totally insane though.

grinning smiley Yeah, me too...I don't live there.

03/09/09 4:55 PM

Yeah, so high that I'm not going. I am really disappointed. sad smiley If you are going, don't forget about service charges...those bargain priced $150 tickets will turn into $170+ tickets! eye popping smiley

03/09/09 4:58 PM

Looking at the $150.00 KC tickets, it's for the first 5 rows in the "Producer's Circle". Let's not shit bricks quite yet...

03/09/09 4:01 PM

I don't know how I feel just yet, but with the high-profile lineup (& potential for more added to the bill, as Trent mentioned he was hopeful for), it doesn't seem so out of sorts.

Actually, the longer I think about it, the less it bothers me. If you can afford it, go. If not, such is life.

03/09/09 4:02 PM

I just think there should have been more than three levels of tickets since the theater is split up into a lot more sections than that.

03/09/09 4:07 PM

I'm eager to see the final ticket prices... I though 85$ for the last Toronto shows was already too expensive. Somehow I doubt these will be the final prices...

And to think I got great seats for 36$ back in 2006...
