Hong Kong 2007 (I think) I am not sure of the year. (in spirit if not in body)
Jacksonville FL. Lights in the sky tour. 2008.. I think
Atlanta, GA.. two or three times. One was the David Bowie/TR show.
New orleans, LA.. OH Gawd.. I really don't know how many times. I rememeber the 1995 show well.
Pensacola, FL... 1995 Self-Destruct tour and again in 1996 when they returned because the show in 1995 was canceled due to an idiot ramming his car into a transformer so the show would not go on. They did manage to get the grids back up but only (conveniently enough) after the noise ordinance had passed by five mins. Nevertheless, the show in 1996 was hands down the best NIN show ever I have attended. Front row and center stage, awesome wooden barricade just close enough to the stage as to be able to hold oneself by a finger to keep from going under/getting even more crushed, stage jumping and crowd surfing... it was INSANE!!! I am pretty sure this is the show on the Closure video shown several times throught the video.
I am probably forgetting a show or two...
But my very first NIN experience was at Woodstock 1994. I still remember what I was doing when they played Closer! I don't care what the audio was like on the PPV.. The show Rocked and I will never forget the feeling their music evoked in me that evening. I was about fifty yards from the stage. Although I'd listened to NIN since I was fourteen, I had no idea what I was in for... I have been hooked since. What is funny is that when I first heard NIN on MTV (Wish), I was mesmerized by the sound and asked my mother to go buy the tape for me.. Yes tape.. LOL... She bought Fixed and not Broken.. So, I did not know the words to the songs (except Closer) until after the show in Pensacola in 1995.
As for meeting the band, they came into my work one evening with the entire Jim Rose Circus and the rest of the guys. I met everyone and found them to be some of the most interesting people I have ever met. (I was a waitress, so it was easy to meet everyone without feeling like a stalker.) Everyone was super kind and I thought TR was/is one of the most brilliant and talented men alive. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
