Why don't you say it explicitly so I can address the viewpoint?

I thought I just did... RESPECT.

Bullshit to all you kiss-ass sycophants.

A "boo" is an expression of subjective disapproval.

Telling somebody that they shouldn't BOO is tantamount to telling somebody that they shouldn't cheer.

Remember: positive judgments aren't the only valid ones.

Which is very well & good if anyone was being held against their will or any of the acts were telling the audience members to kill themselves or something while they were up there. Anyone can leave. Or not go in the first place if they are not fond of all of the acts. I'm not a kiss-ass or a sycophant, thank you.

I have subjective disapproval of nearly everything you post on this board as about 90% of it is riddled with negativity. I suspect you'd be a boo-er at a concert yourself.

Disapproval? Of what? The invisible gun being held to your head, forcing you to stay?

Seriously, your post made me chuckle.

And darkstorm, "revenge in the name of Trent", what? It's the Jane's fans (who are in most cases also Nails fans) who are expressing that they may follow the urge to get assertive with jerks who stick around for the sole purpose of interfering with their enjoyment of the set.

Jeez, go to an open-mic at a local coffee house if you need to let out your inner 11-year-old.

As much as Id love to sit here and get into a war of words and humorously trying to cut the other person down I'm really not going to, maybe instead you should re-read both of my posts, and put it through your head that the 'assertive' behavior your talking about is just as if not more ignorant as someone "booing".

"In the name of Trent/In the name of JA" care to explain the difference? You have a problem with someone that's ruining your NIN/JA experience....go get security, tell em you saw the guy/girl smoking crack and hit a baby. Because I can guarantee, if I see "assertive" behavior (outside the pit), its what Ill be doing with out a problem..

The show is meant to be enjoyed, not meant to be policed by moron fans.

Figurative/Literal learn the difference.

If they were booing jane's and not the pa situation then they should be kissed by a runny nosed Mexican... Spoilt fucking brats... The two greatest live bands of all time in one night and they boo? I hope they are set upon after the show in the parking lot..

They better not be booing my Janes addiction!!!! WTF, are we like in High School? I can understand being pissed for NIN technical mess, but making the next band suffer doesn't make any sense. FYI... Perry used to thrive on this negativity back in the day and used to address it accordinly onstage. And remember they have your money already so why don't we show them some love.winking smiley

I'm pretty sure you just proved my point. Thanks!

And it isn't in the name of anyone - if I get pissed at the Neanderthal/Neanderthalette booing loudly over my shoulder, I'm not reacting on behalf of anyone. That's just silliness.

For the record, although I'm perfectly capable of getting physical, and sometimes have had to because I'm small and perceived as an easy target by goons, I respond appropriately to the situation. IOW, the dousing with cold water is probably as bad as it would get. Well, that and causing temporary deafness by screaming "shut the fuck up" directly into someone's ear.

But tattle, if you must. winking smiley

i'm willing to bet more nin fans would have welcomed MCR than janes addiction. sad

I wouldn't mind it being literal.

doesn't sound like any booers are revealing themselves, but fuck you.

05/08/09 10:14 PM

Wow...this is rather ...childish. I'm sure most would agree. What's wrong with holding your opinion in out of respect? Are some of us really THAT small?

Trent had full faith that we would respect JA and their fans and have a nice show for you guys so he could say goodbye. He invests a buncha money time and effort and this is how some of us treat his vision? I think booing JA isn't only disrespectful to them, but Trent and Nine Inch Nails all together.

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the fans wanted to see NIN come back and when JA came on, the crowd, mostly NIN fans, were unhappy. I'd be pissed, too.

I'm reading the Janes board, and it's amusing that they all find NIN fans rude and obsessed.

That's what happens when you have a ridiculously hardcore fanbase who expects to see you play at the end.

But, but Trent's being disrespectful to the fans by letting Jane's Addiction play last instead of himself because we're all so whiny and want it to be how WE want it. We don't care about Trent's vision if he's not playing last in that vision, and it's disrespectful of time to not do whatever we want him to do. I mean, we control the band, right?

Jane's Addiction put the JA in NINJA...

Hmm I think 'control' isn't necessarily the best choice of words but I think in a sense yes we do have some power.(Hell a lot more than fans of played out mainstreamy artists get) And yes while we are expecting NIN to play last, there are also JA fans (though I'm not sure how many o__0) who want a show too. It is the way it is and I think we should appreciate the fact that Trent is even giving us a chance to say bye to him at all. He could just go on hiatus and let it end in silence. He's an artist, he sees the show being done a certain way and he does it. Perhaps if there's enough hoopla he'll change it around and make the show a bit more Ja/Nin so we quit whining.

But after all of the whining I see him put up with on a nearly DAILY basis, *shrug* it's his move.

REALLY? NIN fans obsessed? NOOO.. I would never have guessed. Comes as a complete shock... and I am ALSO a NIN fan. Go figure? WAIT!? Am I being literal or figurative?

Hardcore fanbase also includes Jane's fans. Hence the NIN/JA tour name. Seeing since it's the NIN/JA tour... I would assume that JA was playing last... otherwise it would be the JA/NIN tour no?

I was pretty surprised to hear people booing too. I mean, I'm confused because everybody posting here has a good point...
It was not the nicest thing to do...but JA got plenty of support in the end, I think they did well, I don't give a shit who went 1st, 2nd, or, 3rd. I'm just happy to have gone and seen this well done show. :}

If I see someone booing I will fucking kick their ass to the floor myself.

Yeah I'm with you on that. Just being able to see the show is a blessing no matter who goes where.
