yea so two of the NIN shows that i have been too where at virgin festival in 08, and then Bonnaroo in 09. both times there were millions of people smoke pot and what not. it just got me wondering if there were people it bothered, or if everyone didnt really mind.

there are going to be people smoking pot at any concert worth going to. if it bothers you stay home.

I'm guessing that it's probably due more to the fact that you were at festivals than at NIN shows.

Yup. I can't ever recall being at a concert and NOT smelling weed.

Same here. Folk festivals, rock concerts, I´ve always smelled weed.

Probably you don´t get that experience when you go see the Three Tenors and that sort of thing.

I dislike pot, but I absolutely loathe cigarette smokers. If you're going to ruin your health at least do it with some style or with something that will enhance your experience, assholes. I don't mind smoke at outdoor venues, but when I'm in an indoor venue with NO SMOKING and as soon as the lights dim the whole place gets engulfed in a cloud of smoke so large I can no longer breathe or see the band, that really fucking pisses me off. At least with pot the smell is kind of interesting, and it usually doesn't linger very long, and the smokers are usually respectful. But the kind of people who smoke in NO SMOKING venues are usually the same assholes who chain smoke, and exhale in everyone's faces. So in conclusion, if you want to get high, do it before the show. If you want to get drunk, stay the fuck home with a case of beer and a CD. Oh and if you want to smoke, go throw yourself in front of a bus. Thanks.

I am definitely one of those potsmokers. However, I don't really light up a joint in the middle of a show. I only ever did that once at the Edmonton show for With Teeth. I didn't really feel bad about it though because Trent's head of security (That Sweeney dude or whatever. Anyone remember him?) was sitting two seats next to me smoking a joint too.

I can understand why it can bother some people though. Smoke can be incredibly irritating and by smoking you're not only subjecting yourself to it but hundreds of other people. That can be somewhat of an asshole move. But also, concerts often come with the price of drunkards and stoners.

Honestly, it's part of a concert experience. I very much don't think I've ever been to a show that never had a joint smoked outside of incredibly ironically, Willie Nelson.

just wondering what people think. i smoke. and i dont want to light up and bother anyone. i always ask a couple people around me if they dont mind, and if their cool i pass it to em. none of my friends are in to any good music so im usually alone at shows. i love sharing marijuana with random people at shows. spreading the love!

I cant remember going to a parking garage elevator and not smelling weed.

The world would be a much safer, better place if everyone smoked weed instead of getting fucked on alcohol. If alcohol had just been discovered it would almost certainly be banned as a class A drug.

I smoke a lot of weed, and for most concerts, it's a given. But while at the last 2 NIN shows that I saw (both LITS), I didn't smoke any. Not because I didn't want to, but because my eyes and ears were glued to that stage. I just didn't get a chance. Going into my bag, pulling out a joint, finding my lighter, lighting and smoking the joint, it all takes way more time and focus than I'm willing to spare.
