Since there's smoking bans in 99% of venues nowadays.. I've been in the habit of catching my buzz before the show.. I also see very little need to carry contraband into a show that can get me kicked out pretty quick..

Some people just dislike the smell. Some people have asthma that gets severely irritated from the smoke. It can bother people in ways other then the "eww drugs are bad mmmkay" way.

My brain and I have a good relationship and I'd like to keep it as such, therefore I don't kill off parts of it with intoxicants. The pot smoking morons eventually moved but the thing that probably bugs me the most is that I highly doubt any one of them had a prescription for the weed which smelled like the monkey cage at any given zoo. Even if they did have a script (which there are no scripts for weed in TX), why was it necessary to smoke it at a NIN concert? Trying to get the glaucoma out of the way so you can see the show? Point? IT'S ILLEGAL!!! And it's highly inconsiderate to inflict your illegal behavior on me. Take your illegal activities elsewhere, thanks.

Plus, it'll carry you through the long haul! Timing is essential, however. Peaking during an opening band is not ideal. But really, come on kids, it's a rock concert! Reefer haze is part of the experience.

At the chicago show I was at, the group of ppl I was crushed around were smokin' some weed, and the atmosphere was awesome, very friendly, then two belligerent fucking bitches smash up behind us and tried to push threw us to the front, we were a brick wall by that point and I swear one of the girls was going to toss her junk all over me cause she couldnt even stand. Fuck the boozers that cant handle there shit, fuck the morons that are so pissed off by the smell of pot smoke, I apologize to anyone with problems breathing, but cigarettes are going to do the same thing, for the most part, contact highs are bullshit. So everyone, bring your nugs, and leave the bottle of McCormicks at home

Like many of the previous posters have said, there are much bigger a-holes at shows that bother me even more. Like, if you are in a general admission area (no seats), and you're lighting up, and someone near you stands there a bitches, loudly, to their friends about it, but won't move away from it. They'd rather stand there and preach and moan and make you stop, rather than taking 10 steps to the left... What's even worse, and should be case for making alcohol illegal and legalizing pot, is the drunken-frat-dude (Brah!) that shoves his way through the crowd, "woo-hoo"ing and spilling his beer all over everyone. I see these guys at every freakin show I go to. I don't think they even know who's playing. I recently started getting REALLY BAD cotton mouth while at concerts if i smoke pot... so if i have no water, i usually just smoke before and after the show... i hate having to leave in the middle of a show to get water because my lips are stuck together and i can no longer sing along! this is one NIN fan who loves the ganja!

Luckily for me, most of the show ive been to there wasnt no one smoking near me. both of the nin shows there was no smoking near me, and even a tool show a few yrs back. however there were drunks at the last nin show i went to in vegas. they were 2 drunk chicks arguing and about to get into a fight in front of me. i prefer smokers over annoying drunks anytime. at least nin shows arent as bad as festivals. i went to ozzfest a few yrs back and it was my first festival. i saw a lot of ppl carrying bandanas and i wondered why. i found out first hand as there was a huge cloud of smoke over the whole venue so next time i go to a festival ill bring one so i can not breathe the smoke completly.

It bothers me that they have to smoke in order to enjoy the show. You already get a natural high from a NIN show, so why do people need to get even more high? It takes a lot away from the real experience. I guess I could understand smoking at a Grateful Dead or Pink Floyd concert or a rave since the stoner/drug culture is strongly associated with that music... Like I said though, I'm not really bothered by it. It's generally expected that they'll be drug users at a concert. Drunks are the ones that get on my nerves though...
