 you know if people in the music industry heard this question being pondered they would laugh in your face... DO U KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE THERE ARE! funny, all with there own way of enjoying a concert.. why didnt people have all of these smoke problems 15 years ago, 20, 30 , 40 years ago. In small jazz clubs and EVERYWHERE. Dont believe the hype. It only hurts cuz you keep fucking tounging it, It will heal if you let it go and STOP... Pot has been a way of life for people ACROSS THE WORLD for FOREVER and it always will be... especially musicians, ESPECIALLY. I can't stand seeing little pussies around constantly looking at me like pedestal sitting assholes. your there for the music and the band not to be bothered by some alienated potheads who can't go and have a good time without pious douche bags who can't just shut the Funk up and E.N.J.O.Y..... have you ever smoked pot and listened to NIN? obviously not. | |

Pot smoke usually doesn't bother me much, although sometimes a venue can get too smoke-filled, whether it's pot or cigarette smoke. I'd like to see more people use food or pill methods to imbibe marijuana. There was SO much pot smoke at the Hamilton show last fall that Trent commented on it during the show, if I recall correctly. I remember standing in front of the sound board for that one and continually being offered a puff from a joint (took some once) and it seemed like half the audience was lighting up joints even though it was a no smoking venue. It's not really helpful for a singer's voice when it's that thick, and we left there with our clothes absolutely reeking of smoke. That was one of those instances where it's just too much. Reasonable amounts is ok. I'm not interested in paying for what I consider the excessive expense of weed, alcohol, or any other drug, but if a concertgoer or musician offers me a puff from a joint I'm usually happy to freeload. I sometimes have some pain in my hip joints or legs and it makes the pain completely disappear which is the side effect I prefer most.  Edited 1 time(s). I remember my first NIN concert - Oct 6 1996 at Nissan Pavilion, in VA. I smelled pot for the first time. But I started having flashbacks to my parent's first house. And it was that moment, that I realized my parents were pot heads up until we moved (I was 3). And that my first first time wasn't in 1996, it was in 1978. The only thing that pisses me off about pot at concerts is when it doesn't come my way. I *expect* pot to be there. Or, if everyone around you is toking up and you can't breathe between that and the weight of the crowd on you. | |

Pot doesn't make people stupid. People who are stupid and smoke it were stupid before ever smoking. There are plenty intellectual folk out there that smoke it. I wrote my best papers in University high...

I remember at one of the Manchester Apollo shows way back, that there was a guy in front of us smoking, and two girls next to him mentioned the smell - so he ofered them a drag. It was quite surreal watching this girl take a drag and then promptly vomit on the floor. To add to it, a guy reached through me and my brother and tapped the guy on the shoulder and said 'Here mate, can my Mum have a drag of that?'
There he was, 3 rows back at a NIN show, in the centre of the pit with his Mum asking if she could have a drag of another guys joint. | |
