Well, if the rain holds off until AFTER the shows starts, we should be fine. Apparently there were tornado sirens going off all around us at Indy, and I had no idea! I did notice it raining really hard on the lawn at one point, looked pretty rough. I've been drenched and freezing at a concert more times than I care to count, so I just patted myself on the back for getting covered seats, wished them all luck, and turned back around.
On the other hand, two of my most incredible concert moments were bad weather related. In 2002 or 2003, we saw Peter Gabriel at Chastain in Atlanta with huge storm clouds all around us. That venue, while absolutely lovely, has a strict curfew, so a break would have been terrible. During Digging in the Dirt, I swear there was lightning all around us, scary, but the best light show EVER. As we were walking out to the parking lot afterward, the sky opened up. I could not have planned it better. Then before NIN in Columbus, OH, in 2006, we were on the lawn when Bauhaus was playing. It was raining and cold, but seeing the lightning during Severance was also unbelievable. And from what I hear, there were some pretty amazing pyrotechnics last time NIN played Charlotte!
All will be well. I'm already getting the packing paranoia though, we're leaving tomorrow night so we can chill before TV on the Radio!
Peace.
