So.......who's pissed that THIS wasn't even mentioned here?

http://glamgrenade.com/images/ninfail.jpg

Oh, yeah, they're all sold out. Again.

WTF NIN?? Have you just completely ceased to care? Only mention this on Twitter?? The place you all but disconnected from? Nice.
As a 20 year fiercely loyal fan, all I can say is it breaks my heart how little you seem to care about the fans at the end.

I am guessing it was announced on twitter because announcing it here would give scalpers more of a chance. and twitter is 'spontaneous'.

I saw the twitter announcement too late.

In all fairness, this was something that no one was expecting anyway...

Also, if TR didn't care about the fans, HE would be charging 300+ per show, especially for Bowery since it's a small venue. The fact that we are getting more shows proves how much he wants to perform for the fans. Hell, 4 years of touring. As a '20 year fiercely loyal fan', you know that it's unheard of. We have been accustomed to one tour then a 4 year break.

There are so many ways for nin to let fans know of extra tix.

Fuck the scalpers, what about the fans? How many people only signed up to Twitter because Trent did, and then didn't go back because he left it? Besides, how is Twitter any more 'spontaneous' than an official announcement on an official webpage on the internet? It's not like that wouldn't be instantaneous. I would think most of NIN's fans would be looking here for announcements of such import. Besides, I'm pretty sure the scalpers are aware of Twitter, so I don't see how that would have made any difference there.

Sweet Jeebus!!!! These freakin' posts are gonna start again?
I'd say holding back tickets from EVERYONE & releasing them when Trent saw fit is about as good as it gets!!
Did you expect a personal phone call from him asking if you've gotten tickets yet, so he would be allowed to release these tickets to everyone else?
You must have really bad timing, or don't read the right threads, cuz it was posted on numerous threads.

It never fails. No matter what you try to do different from the rest of the musical world for the benefit of your fans still isn't good enough for some whiny morons.
NIN doesn't care anymore? That's why the tiniest venues WERE EXCLUSIVE TO NIN.com MEMBERS ONLY TO PURCHASE! Where do you come up with this crap?
One last thing:

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!
For someone older than 20, you sure sound like a whiny little child!
Go burn all your albums, make a Trent voodoo doll, and go whine somewhere where someone actually wants to read this crap.....

First off, I didn't even want tickets for that show, and my complaint has nothing at all to do with WHEN the tickets were released. It has to do with NOT making an announcement of new tickets being released on the official NIN front page, but on a website which there was a giant, over publicized exodus from by TR a couple of months back, likely resulting in a large amount of fans not checking there for updates.
Secondly, I am merely expressing my disappointment with that choice, I'm sorry that my disappointment affects you so much. It shouldn't. You don't even know me.
Thanks for the insults though, I appreciate the personal attacks due to an expression of opinion.

08/19/09 7:24 PM

If you don't even care about the tickets, then why the hell do you care about how it was handled?
Your disappointment does affect me, because you chose to post it in a thread that is for people either wanting tickets, or that are going to the shows, neither of which apparently have anything to do with you. That, and I had to read about another person complaining about Trent trying to take care of his fans vs. letting them battle with the scalpers for good tickets.
And that's all I have to say about that.....

Don't worry, I'm all out of insults now.

You may now resume expressing your disappointment.....

Fair enough, some people may have left twitter because TR did. But NIN as an entity has continued to use twitter and just cause TR was sick of stupid bullshit associated with personal posts on twitter, doesn't mean he still doesn't appreciate that it is the quickest way to get to people. If you are at work, you may not be able to go to nin.com every 5 minutes, but may have access to twitter on your cell phone.

The other point I will make is that the initial presale was announced on nin.com. These tickets were a surprise, a bonus. There were probably not enough for it to matter, but a good way to test an alternate means of reaching the fans and letting them know about tickets.

I wouldn't have been surprised if they hadn't used facebook to relay the message. Just because nin.com is the home of nin, doesn't mean it is the be all end all. The NIN facebook page is the official facebook page. The nin twitter is the official nin account. It is all official. Hell, ETS kept the nin fans communicating before these boards and the spiral, back when nin.com was a placeholder in between albums... Maybe a ticket announcement should have been made there?

I'll up the ante on this: Trade your extra Bowery Ballroom ticket for Cthules' extra Webster Hall ticket so Maryelle can go to the BB show, and I'll throw a dozen homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies in to, ahem, sweeten the deal. grinning smiley (Yeah, yeah, it probably won't be the tipping point, but you never know, do you?...)

I'm thinking 4pm...

hello everybody
i tried to get tix for NYC when they first went on sale but couldn't get through, and was at work all day today and didn't see the twitter post til a little while ago. considering these shows are this weekend, i'm grasping at straws here and hoping somebody got two tickets and only needs one and maybe doesn't find a +1 in the next day or so that deserves to be going so please contact me if you have an extra for either of the NYC shows.
need a ride? i'll provide (as long as it's not too much off my path from virginia).

need some tunes? in addition to paying for the ticket, i have a dozens and dozens of live cds from dozens and dozens of cool bands and i'll make you copies.

need a protector in the pit or on the streets on new york? i'm there for you.

please PM me if you have a ticket or know of a ticket and i'll get right back to you.
thanks
peace!
tom

I posted it in this thread specifically because it is a thread for people looking for tickets for this show. I thought there might have been a notice in this thread about the few newly released tickets, and when there wasn't, I was disappointed.
This is a public forum, and as such it's intended purpose is for people to voice their opinions. I did so. If you cannot read an opinion you disagree with without resorting to name calling in your first retort post, then I'm not sure it's my maturity that should be in question.

hello, a dear friend of mine went to ney york all the way from italy to attend this show... but unluckily the guy who had a ticket for her put at the last moment a few zeros the price of it so... if there's an extra ticket for a reasonable price i'd love to inform my friend she's not done all this journey for nothing. anyway, she'll be in front of the venue too... had to try anyway. cheers!

I am praying I get into this gig..
Flying in on Friday night!!!!!!

So stressed about it

08/20/09 10:38 AM

Did anyone get an email about pickup instructions etc?

08/20/09 11:52 AM

I am sure someone will be trying to sell tickets at the door
I have friends who have waited outside Bowery for Depeche Mode and Morrissey before and got tickets at face value from people who got them for free (media) and did not want to go in
It is always an option

Yeah that Depeche Mode show at Bowery 4 yrs ago was incredible. There were a few people selling tickets.. I'm sure you'll into the show somehow ringfinger.

does anyone know what the rules are with respect to bringing cameras into the venue? i'm not talking about a point-n-shoot. i want to bring my digital SLR with me.

i was pissed when i had 3rd row seats for the NINJA shows and there was a guy in front of me with a digital SLR snapping away through most of the show and an array of people with video cams in front of him.

if i'd known, i would have brought mine with me!

08/20/09 2:29 PM

If you left Twitter because Trent left, you're missing out. Robin, Justin, Rob and Ilan all still post. I still follow Freese too.

My +1 for this show will most likely be bootlegging it on a Sony PCM, will post if she does.

Good luck with that I for one would advise against this as you don't want to piss off the club or its staff and possibly have the cops come.

I would warn anyone thinking of lining up hours before the show this is NYC and the clubs will prolly ask you to leave as NYC has lots of foot traffic they will not tolerate this you will most likely be warned once then escorted away by the NYPD.

These are club shows people less then 1000 people going they are not arena shows 10k + people.

Find something to do and show up within an hour or two of the doors opening and you will be fine.

I've been to dozens of shows in NYC and never had a problem, we're playing it by ear but certainly not getting there at 6pm for one of the smallest venues on the final tour, yikes! Just saw the Vamps in NYC and the line wrapped around the building all day long with no complaints so I doubt the Bowery situation will be any different.
