Is it still open camera policy for the T5 show like it was for NIN/JA? I'd love to bring my video camera. I got some decent vid at NIN/JA: [tinyurl.com]

I am thinking I may take the bus or train from Boston for this show. Not going to stay the night as I was just in NYC last week for 4 nights. Would love to drive and park in the city...but that will just be a pain. Also, if I take a train/bus at 3 am can sleep the whole ride home!

Fingers crossed my +1 still wants to go with me!

okay! One week from tonight!

Next question....
where should I park? *eeeep*

Honestly, for what you'll spend on parking and the time it'll take to find a spot (if you don't want to pay $30+ for a garage, your best option would probably be to park in queens and take a 10-15 min train ride into the city

Thanks for the tip, but in all honesty, I am driving in alone from Pa., and I'd rather eat the parking (already budgeted 40.00) so I can park nearby w/out taking the underground. Are there garages nearby?

According to Ticketmaster and Google maps there are a few parking lots: [www.ticketmaster.com]

Hey everyone.

I HAVE AN EXTRA TICKET!

I know it is pretty short notice, but my friend just confirmed that he cannot make it, after all. I am looking to be paid through paypal (only what I paid, of course!) just to prevent the slim case of a no-show loss on my part.

PM me, if interested! I can shoot you my cell number just so you can be made to feel safe about this type of arrangement!

I'm power road trippin from Pittsburgh to NYC and back in one day. So, I'm parking in a garage. NICRN77, thx for the parking links. I'm all over that. NIGHTR6701, thanks so much for the info on the open camera policy. I'm definitely bringing my video camera then. I think it's just awesome that TR's willing to do that. I'm all kinda fired up about this show.

Just common sense, but no it's not in any 'hood like area, near CBS Broadcasting, Lincoln Centre, Columbus Circle, Intrepid Museum [aircraft carrier] and what? 3, 4 blocks from Central Park, so no worries... smiling smiley

Holy hells, you're driving round trip in basically a day and a half???? You're insane! I thought the trex from Reading Pa to NYC was going to be long....

08/20/09 8:43 PM

Oh my! I thought my trip from Boston was going to be a doozy! DAMN! I still don't know what I'm doing. It's a 4 hour drive from Boston...I don't want to pay the $$$ for the parking garage and deal with traffic. May just drive to Stamford, CT and take the train to Grand Central. The last train is at 2am I think. Or...I could bus/train it all the way from Boston...but that would mean waiting until 3 am...and I don't feel like waiting at Port Auth or Penn Station for that. i could also spend the night...but I was just in NYC for 4 nights last week.

Anyone planning a pre-show get together?

I'd be game...hoping to get to the city around 2 or 3. Show starts at 7. I don't plan on standing in line all day. I know some of you will be. I will happily stand near the back most likely!

08/21/09 7:09 AM

is anyone going to all four shows?

08/21/09 10:13 AM

Greetings Earthlings,

I am looking to attend this concert. I am writing to see if anyone has a ticket for sale? I know it is a long shot but I must get back to District 9 in a week and figured I would give a post a try.

Rock! JED

As a native NY'er, I can tell you that you have nothing to worry about. Just relax and as someone else said, use common sense. We are quite friendly.

08/21/09 11:36 AM

What time does everyone think the concert will get over? I can't decide what to do. The last buses that leave for Boston are at 12:15a or 3:30a and the last train to leave is at 7:30p..or the next one is at 3:10. I really don't want to wait around the city until 3am. Do you think the show would be over by 11:30ish? Or should I just suck it up and drive to Stamford, CT train station (3 hours from Boston). The last train from Grand Central to Stamford is about 1:50 am.

I was thinking 11ish too...but then I fear since it is the last NIN show in NYC we may have some surprises and stuff. I think I may just drive to CT...will have to check with my friend and see what he would like to do! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
