I'm definitely hitting one of these shows. Two would be fantastic but probably not financially feasible.

I've heard mixed reviews about the sound at the Aragon: some people say it's always awful, others say you just need a clever person at the soundboard. Can anyone weigh in on this personally?

07/10/09 12:23 PM

are SLR cameras gonna be allowed again?

07/10/09 12:42 PM

Back in Chicago? On my 40th birthday? Really??? I know what I'm asking for! I think we'll actually be able to swing both, saving up the hotel rewards points can come in SO handy. We thought we'd have those points forever with no more tours. winking smiley

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me...

pre-sale for both nights at the same time.

FUCK ME..........no way you can get tickets for both show with only one person. Even if you were lucky enough to get one night, the other would be sold out. And although i want to see both, i really do believe that everyone deserves to see these shows. Going for both nights just blocks someone else's chances of seeing even one.

So, back to FUCK ME. How do you decide which one to go for??

I didn't think the sound at the Aragon was too terrible when I saw Manson there last February. It certainly isn't my favorite venue (that would be the Vic), but I'm a lot more excited to see them there than some big arena!

And for me, that will be a crazy 8 days.

August 21 - Our Lady Peace - Fillmore - Detroit, MI
August 22 - Our Lady Peace - The Vic - Chicago, IL
August 25 - Modest Mouse - Aragon Ballroom - Chicago, IL
August 28 - NIN - Aragon Ballroom - Chicago, IL (I hope!)
August 29 - NIN - Aragon Ballroom - Chicago, IL (I hope!)

07/10/09 1:24 PM

My friend has agreed to tag along. I'd like to try for both nights. I've never flown anywhere to see NIN, this time around would be a perfect opportunity.

Anyone who lives near or will be passing by Ames, IA-I'd be interested in carpooling, I've got one offer already but I haven't heard anything back from this person yet. It can be for either of these dates, whichever one I can manage to get presale tickets to. I hope the sale will start early because I have to be to work at 11:00 a.m. usually on Fridays. sad smiley

I'd like to have some solid arrangements by then in case I need to get more than one ticket or something-although I'll likely be getting seat tickets because I'm not the mosh pit type.

Anyway, PM me if interested.

Will be at this show!

I think Aragon is all GA standing room. I would really prefer to not be on the floor for this one since it took 3 weeks for my (already bad) knee to get back to normal from the last Chicago show. They do have a balcony though, and I'm trying to figure out if that is included as GA or not. It would be great if it was.

07/10/09 1:40 PM

I couldn't believe Trent put Chicago in the extra dates, and now I can't believe he made it dos! I swear to god this is too good to be true. Getting tickets is gonna be rough though. I'll definitely have to set up two computers and maybe even get some help if I'm gonna get tickets for both days.

Is there some sort of password or something for presale that I'll need to know ahead of time?

omg i'm so scared i'm gonna screw things up and end up empty handed... confused smiley

"NOTE:
Tickets are processed through a third party company called Music Today (MT). In ADDITION to your nin.com log in info you will need to create a separate MT username and password to complete ticket purchases.

To avoid delays, we recommend members create MT usernames/passwords before pre-sales start. Just click a pre-sale link on the performance page (you'll need to be logged in to nin.com) and you'll be taken to the MT ticketing page. From there, click on 'your account' at the top right corner to set up your MT account."

Anyone know about what time of day the presales start?

I'm going to cancel my preorder for NCAA Football 10 for this and I'd hate to do that only to miss the presale and have to wait until the 31st when I'd probably've been able to save my money back up again anyway.

Edit: Just saw the op says 5pm, I'll definitely be back from work by then, unless they change my schedule...

I'm going to try for both nights, if the tickets are reasonably priced. If I can manage to get presale for even one of them, that's great. If not, I'll try to get regular tickets.

I don't even really have the money to get myself to one show, but I'm going to try to pull this off somehow.

07/10/09 6:55 PM

I'm going to try to make it to both shows as well. I know, I know, it's kind of unfair to the people who might miss out on getting tix, but if it makes ya feel any better, I'll probably go alone on one of the nights (if it's possible to just buy one ticket with presale).

I'll wait however long is necessary to be up front, too. Just hope the prices aren't too high. Thinking I may sell a few things just to ensure I'll be able to afford it. I'll feel so much better next week. Whew.

07/10/09 10:05 PM

I'm flying in on the morning of the 28th and a friend is driving up from TN.

We'll be staying here [www.marriott.com]
Leaving the morning of the 30th.

Provided I get a ticket, this will be my first NIN and I suppose last NIN show ever. It will be his third I think.

07/11/09 10:41 AM

oh god, i hate relying on my credit card so much x^)

but i know this is going to be so worth it

I may be driving up from TN, too. I don't need to spend the money, but this is so very tempting.

Teehee. It is proving to be quite handy. Very glad I've already met him and like him enough to not hate hanging with him for a few days to catch NIN.

07/11/09 9:06 PM

Me and a group of three friends plan to drive out there for one of these Chicago nights. Hoping like hell we can get the tickets. It'll be everyone's first and last NIN show ever. Good luck to all, but shame on those who snatch up two for themselves...

Not sure what we'll do if we can't manage to get tickets, accidentally buy on separate nights, or only get two total. The tickets aren't mailed out before the show, and require matching ID, so tickets aren't transferable, eh? We couldn't buy presale tix from another nin.com member if they, say, can't make it to the show?

Any advice for a rookie presale buyer? One friend and I already have our nin.com and musictoday accounts set up. How does payment work? Quickly, through a paypal account? Or do you have to slowly type in credit card numbers right then and there?

07/12/09 10:38 AM

@piroteknix The presale you have to type in your numbers at the time of the sale however once you pick your tickets you're given, I believe, 5 minutes to do that part and your tickets are considered reserved while your typing away so no one else can snatch them while going through the hoops. However, it is best to have the card out and handy when buying just to be safe. Buying for another member is possible but the thing is in order to do so you would have to change the name to be printed on the ticket which, once again I believe, would require you to to make your purchase, exit out, log back in to the other show you want and change the name to be printed. So yeah no offense but that's just too risky with these shows and doing this basically guarantees you won't get poo for tickets. Buying through ticketmaster on the regular sell date would be the only way to get tickets mailed to you before the show but you're taking a really big risk there since ticketmaster allows such things are bulk buyers, VIP accounts, and other such fascist crap granting preferred treatment over you, the fan, all in the name of commerce. Oh and in case you're wondering those bulk buyers and VIP accounts typically belong to the people who then turn around and sell the tickets for like a 500% or more mark up on ebay or some other 3rd party site.

I'm aiming for either this show or the one on the 29th or the one at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. I'll be driving from NC if anyone wants to team up to cut down on costs and such. I have a feeling the ticket prices will probably be anywhere from $50-$100 since LiveNation has a hand in the event coordination. Though I could be totally wrong since some dates are surprisingly only being sold through the site. Either way I think it's a safe bet to say they won't be no more than $100 at the most.

What I really want to know is if they will have special merch for the show like they did at the Nights of Nothing shows or The Self Destruct, Fragile, and With Teeth rehersal shows? I know for all those shows I just listed the merch that was only available at those dates was in extremely small supply and sold like crack minutes after the doors were open. Oh well hopefully I'll be able to find out.

07/12/09 10:53 AM

Hi all. I am looking to attend the two shows at the Aragon. I dont know how likely it is that by myself i can snatch up tickets on both nights. I am looking for someone who like me wants to attend both nights and will commit to buying tickets for one of the nights , while i buy tickets for the other, then hopefully if all goes well, we swap the extra ticket we have for the other night from each other. Follow me?
