All the NIN shows I've been to have required the lens not be longer than whoever was measuring's pinky or at the least not have a detachable lens.

Oh sunburns - I got it real bad waiting for the Chicago show in May. And since I was earing huge sunglasses, I had awesome outlines for like a week.

Note to everyone waiting in line for these shows: BRING SUNBLOCK! I know I will!

Right, but fire code really only allows so many people!

I had someone show me pictures from the seats from the Charter One show. It's crazy how full the crowd was up front and empty in back (still can't believe I was at the front of all of that!). Do you know how many people were at the Charter show anyway? I am trying to compare it to this one.

Everytime I look at that one shot of the crowd at Charter One with the skyline in the background all I can think of is...Damn, all of those people were crushing me (I was second row)..LOL!

As of right now Trent says "bring it in" but people that have called the Aragon have been told "no cameras." People are going to call on Friday and I assume post the reponse they get. Hopefully NIN mgmt sets the Aragon straight.

-Songs from the Set List Pool That I Haven't Heard Live Yet in Order of Importance (to me, obviously)-

01 - "Somewhat Damaged"
02 - "The Collector"
03 - "Sin"
04 - "I'm Afraid of Americans"
05 - "Something I Can Never Have"
06 - "The Line Begins to Blur"
07 - "Not So Pretty Now"
08 - "Non-Entity"
09 - "Last"
10 - "The Day the Whole World Went Away"
11 - "I Do Not Want This"
12 - "Suck"
13 - "Metal"
14 - "Dead Souls"
15 - "Home"
16 - "Meet Your Master"
17 - "Eraser"
18 - "Right Where It Belongs"
19 - "Banged and Blown Through"
20 - "The Beginning of the End"
21 - "Mr. Self Destruct"
22 - "Lights in the Sky"
23 - "Gone, Still"
24 - "Ruiner"
25 - "A Warm Place"
26 - "La Mer"
27 - "The Downward Spiral"
28 - "Big Man With a Gun"
29 - "Heresy"

That can actually fill an entire set list-although it would completely excluded any of the real staples such as "March of the Pigs", "Head Like a Hole" and "Hurt". "Banged and Blown Through" would be higher up on the list too if Saul Williams shows up.

I wouldn't really mind if it were only my top 10-15 included. And if "And All That Could Have Been" is played I wouldn't care about any of the other songs. lol

I think this as a request would be more reasonable if I were going both days but sadly things haven't worked out like that so I'm stuck with only Saturday so if more of the songs I wanted to hear get played that day then I'll have to cry...

I think I may have transportation figured out but I'd rather just have someone to actually drive me there instead of having to resort to greyhound, which is kind of expensive for the budget I'm going to end up having (around $200 at most).

Also, I'd be awesome to finally hear "March of the Pigs" segwaying into "Piggy". I've seen both by themselves but never together-except in the live videos.

ten bucks says they play the first disc of the fragile on the first night and the second disc the second night.

08/25/09 11:47 PM

What I want to know is, what kind of crowd does NIN bring? Am I going to have to really dig in and fight my way through all of you to get decently close to the stage?

That'd be A LOT of songs to rehearse in a very short time. The only needed to rehearse about four new songs for TDS @ Webster Hall ("Big Man With a Gun", "Eraser", "A Warm Place" and "Ruiner" ). To do the entire Fragile album they'd need to rehearse...let me check here...

16 FUCKING SONGS!!

It'd be nice though to see a marathon of "Somewhat Damaged" through to "The Wretched" finishing off with the premiere of "We're in This Together" and perhaps "The Fragile" since they've already got that one down. Actually, I think it'd be more realistic to see "Left" than "Right" played in its entirety, since the only songs they'd need to rehearse would be:

"We're in This Together", "Just Like You Imagined", "Even Deeper", "Pilgrimage", "No, You Don't", and "The Great Below"-which is still SEVEN songs. I'd settle for just "WITT" and "The Great Below".

A much more practical album to play all the way through would be Broken, though-the only "new" songs they'd have to rehearse are "Help Me I Am In Hell" and "Happiness in Slavery". Given the fact that the former is just about completely guitar and Robin's played it in the past(albeit many years ago), he'd just have to reacquaint himself with it instead of learning it from scratch. It'd also be funny if they included ninety seconds of silence between "Gave Up" and "Physical. :p

I dont understand those people that try and film the whole show with there little digital cameras, instead of enjoying their last nin show... u need to live in the moment, IMO. i understand taking a few pictures, but looking at the concert threw a little 3 inch window trying to hold still, while ur arms are burning and every1 behind ya is getting pissed off...

No kidding
I dont get how people try to "remember" a show they saw in a tiny screen. Put down the dam thing & use your eyes

Thats what I want.

Like I said before it seems more probable than The Fragile, it's learning two new songs-"Help Me I Am In Hell" being mainly guitar driven and something that Fink has played before in the past it shouldn't be too hard to rehearse, "Happiness in Slavery" would be a bit tougher but it's only one song, compared to the four songs they had to rehearse for TDS and SIXTEEN they'd have to rehearse to play The Fragile all the way through.

I think in the Webster Hall thread someone mentioned the possibility, and someone responded that TDS was a concept album and TF isn't. Now I wasn't at the show so I couldn't respond in the thread but according to NINWiki Trent intended The Fragile to be a sort of "Sequel" to TDS (odd, seeing as how the "main character" of TDS supposedly blew his brains out-but who knows, maybe that was just some kind of fantasy in the character's head, or maybe he's somehow a spirit or something, or maybe there's actually no solid meaning to it and we've gotta figure that out for ourselves). The Fragile can be viewed as a concept album, particularly if you skip over Starfuckers. I'd say it's a kind of concept, but not quite the kind that TDS was-I think the only two songs that really should be played straight next to each other live are The Frail and The Wretched. Broken I'm pretty sure isn't a "concept album", heck it's an EP technically. It'd still be cool to hear the whole thing played through live though from start to finish.

I'm not surprised they are saying no cameras. The security there is bunch of effing pricks. I've been to one show there and the security made me never want to go back...LOL, I can't wait for Friday though!!

well, could be like the good old days, of smuggling in a camera. or if you're female, alot of guys are squeamish about digging around in a purse with a bunch of female hygiene products. smiling smiley It would be my luck that the one place that I get tickets for, is the place that's going to be asshats about cameras.

I cant wait for this show after hearing all the set lists for New York.

I am going by myself on Friday...any idea what time I should be there by? I have never been to the Aragon and am still new to Chicago. Any help would be appreciated.

I was just at the Aragon last night to see Modest Mouse and asked a supervisor for the security group that runs the show at Aragon about this. He said he wouldn't expect any "professional" gear to be allowed, like a camera with detachable lenses...but he then said that they follow whatever the band says they'll allow...so pay close attention to what the policy is that TR set up.

Hope that helps...can't wait for 2 unbelievable shows in Chi!

So far I have gotten my SLR into all of the shows here in NYC, so I think they'd actually let you in. Especially if you are going in as presale, because Trent said he didn't care and to do whatever you wanted camera wise back when he was on twitter.

On this site Trent himself has said SLRs are fine as long as the lens isn't stupidly long (like a 300mm F2.8).

i think it might be raining on friday, and a small chance of rain on saturday, i would skip the sunblock, and bring a small umbrella that u dont care about, cause if its sunny u can still shade urself with the umbrella, where as sunblock does no good in the rain...
