So, I just called the Aragon and the woman that answered said that they will NOT be doing a coat check.

That fucking sucks. Now I have to figure out what to do with my backpack.

Eff! I wonder if a messenger bag would be ok to bring in

I talked to someone yesterday at the aragon, said small backpacks=OK. im bringing a bag thats smaller than some girl's purses so if they give me a hard time, im gonna mess someone up.

EDIT: from what it sounds like, the Aragon staff is SUPER disorganized and cant tell people correct info because ive heard 90 different "Camera policieS" regarding this show.

^^ luckily I'll be able to stuff my merch in one of my purses no problem. I had 2 tshirts and a very thin hoodie in it + other necessities for the last Chi show.

I really just wanted to bring my messenger bag so I could put a bigger hoodie it and not have to worry about it

Yeah, it looks like the rules are based on whatever the person on the phone feels like they should be. They'd better get their shit together.

Yeah, I think that I'm going to bring my bag either way. I'll just have to ask somebody what the fuck is going on once I get there. I think that the key is to just keep your bag as empty as possible. And, if all else fails, I am a master of the urban bag-stash. But hopefully I won't have to resort to that.

Does anyone know about how much money the city exclusive tshirts are going for? I wanna make sure I got enough cash to get myself one.

yeah, im essentially just bringing my small backpack to put my camera in so its not around my neck for 2.5+ hours and to hide my extra lens and bring a hat. other than that, its gonna be empty so when they search it theyll find nothing and should hopefully let me go right in. *crosses fingers*

That's about what I was thinking. 30-35 dollars.

I must have one! I am sad I missed out on the Wave Goodbye ones.

Yes, according to the other thread, all shirts are 30 with the exception of XXL (35) and posters are 20.

I was just thinking about things and it kind of hit me: this is truly the last time that all of these GREAT people (i.e. NIN fans) will have the chance to get together like this.

DON'T WASTE THIS OPPORTUNITY. Serious.

And feel free to call me before and/or after the shows to get together. Hopefully a bunch of us will have a good time together after the shows at Neo.

Posting in this in both threads, sorry but this one seems to get more action.

I'm staying at the Hyatt, apparently with everyone else going to the shows that doesn't live in Chicago, but can someone recommend a place to park nearby that isn't $48/24hr? I don't think it needs to be over night, my friend is only coming to the friday show and I think plans to leave right after, just someplace so we can park in the morning and not have to leave until like midnight?

08/27/09 2:25 PM

Sup all! Almost go time!!!! See ya all in line! Tall guy (maybe wearing my sears/nin shirt, brown, haha) with my short friend (monique). Looking forward to see all the nin friends i've met over the years in line. we'll be there early to get in line both days! And I'm soo down with checking out an absinthe bar, even if it's not quite the authentic abby! see ya at the show!! -scott

Is anyone from the Skokie area? I'm staying at the Hampton Inn near there. I checked the transit website and it looks like it will be nearly an hour commute on public transport from there. Damn. Am I going to get kicked in the wallet using a taxi? Or is anyone from that area carpooling? There will be two of us and I'd be more than happy to pitch in for gas. I cannot wait until Saturday!!!!!!!!!

Indeed, public transportation from Skokie (while available) sucks. I take cabs all the time in the city, and estimating from Skokie, I'd say it would be about 50 bucks.

To know for sure I'd try giving Yellow Cab a call, maybe they can help with an estimate: 312-829-4222

Hope that helps!

We're like a NIN family! I'll be wearing a Hanzel und Gretyl *Uber Mensch* shirt, red hair, pierced lip, w/ my fiance and his friend. We'll be in line both days, probably sleeping hahaha, see you guys!!

I'll be in line Saturday (probably all day) in my red/black sleeveless WaxTrax! Records shirt with a friend if anyone wants to say hi (my name is Dizzy btw). I'm also going to be staying at the Candlewood Suites by O'Hare if anyone else is staying there or close by and wants to feel more comfortable knowing they're not the only NIN fan there.

See my avatar for what I look like. You'll probably see my hair before you'll see the rest of me. Other than that I'll be wearing camo shorts, my steel-toe Docs, and a black NIN LitS shirt. Basically I'll be the guy dressed like a fucking NIN fanboy caricature. That's too fucking funny.

Which Hyatt are you staying at? I booked a room in Skokie b/c it was cheaper but with the price of a taxi I should probably look into staying closer to the venue. I just wasn't sure where to stay.

P.S. If everyone is staying at the Hyatt then we need to call and request a NIN group rate. LOL

Question to ask: "Are you afraid of NINmericans?"

08/27/09 2:16 PM

We can always go with a NIN song/phrase or get stupid and use something like the word bologna. I'm sure there would be nothing more amusing than watching people pass by muttering "bologna" lmfao Yeah, that's lame...it's been a long day. I'm open to suggestions!!
