just gave the venue another call about bringing bags in (spoke with the same woman who originally said "cameras with no lenses" are allowed....) and she said they do not allow bags into the venue. i shot off an email to the two listed people on their contact page, hopefully get an answer sometime tomorrow.

Good news, folks. Got a response already. Cameras are good, lens must be 60cm or less (which is huge), looks like bags are allowed and subject to search (I'm waiting clarification on how big a bag can be). Video cameras and audio recorders are allowed but must fit in the palm of your hand. I'll post the full email thread once I get an answer about bags.

It's a weight off my shoulders, I didn't want to have to wait in line and then have them bitch and moan about the camera and/or bag. Soooooooooo stoked now.

Mooseknuckle is a great code word, but asking "Why am I seeing ads?" is fucking brilliant and it made me giggle a little.

I'll be asking YOU why I'm seeing ads friday and saturday!

Also, Neo after show crew, you're in for a treat because it's honestly the best bar I've been to in the city. My advice is don't dawdle after the show because Neo is unfortunately pretty tiny and it's gonna start getting packed on a Saturday night.

I would believe the 8:45 start time. I do think that there is an 11:00 mandated end time for Aragon shows and I think NIN wants to play for more than 2 hours.

BTW, Supernaut with Al Jourgensen would completely kick ass.

This issue came up last time NIN played Chicago too, back in May,something about a city wide curfew. If I remember correctly, it was addressed as not causing a problem.

Fuck yeah dude, and Al can actually sing when he wants to, just youtube Al Jourgenson singing Grateful Dead's "friend of the devil"... it's amazing how good he sounds...

I don't think Al and Trent on the same stage would ever happen though....

Very true... even though Supernaut would be amazing. Al does NOT LIKE Trent at all. Spoken w/ Al several times and he's never had anything good to say about him. Maybe... just maybe... LEMMY? afterall... Motörhead is playing Sunday in Chicago.

I'm hoping for two tickets to this show. I realize it's pretty much a pipe dream, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask...

I'd be taping this show, so whoever would take us would have a nice keepsake to take home. smiling smiley If you're not familiar with my video, here's some examples:

Darby - do you know what he means by "camera bags are subject to venue policy"? I am bringing my D90 and two lenses and really want to bring in my bag just in case I have a bad photo spot (put it away), and plus I want to rock out and not always have to worry about the camera.

24 freakin hours to go...

24 freakin hours to go...

I'm not sure on this one. I sent my email to Dave right around 5:30pm central time so I'm assuming he may have been on the way out of the office for the evening around that time, I was surprised I got a response at all. I sent him a follow up question asking what their policy is on bags. From what he said, it sounds like bags/camera bags ARE allowed since theyre gonna search them. I'm also going to assume that as long as your extra lenses fall within the requirements you should be good. I'm bringing my D60, 50mm 1.8 and a 70-300 in a small camelbak style backpack. It's really just big enough to hold all my camera gear. Hope to see ya there! I'll be the bearded goofball with the neon green seatbelt camera strap.

Cool. Please post what he says regarding the bag. I have a black bag that barely fits my camera and two lens so I'd hope it would be ok. I'd email/call but I don't want to bother them if others are already asking.

I'm bringing my D90, 50mm 1.8 and 18-105. I have a 10-20 which could be cool for crowd/stage shots but it's a $$$ lens and would only be good for a few pics. I doubt I'd be close enough to the stage to get any cool pics with it.

Have you been to the Aragon lately? I haven't since seeing Pantera back in 97 and I don't recall exactly how far away the back is. If I get stuck near the back would I need a long lens or would 105mm work? I have a Sigma 70-300 but figured it wouldn't be needed. Now that you mention what you are doing the 70-300 + 50 might be a better combo than the 50 + 18-105.

If I see you I'll say hi. I'm your average 6'0 33 year old guy with brown hair.
