"Tickets go on sale 5pn local time"....sooooo...5pm Chicago time yes?

Which would be 6pm east coast for me...

Correct 5CDT is central time—so 5pm for Chicago—6 pm for you. smiling smiley

I'm gonna be just itching the entire day here at work until 4:59 rolls around.

EDIT:So is this where we click at 5pm tomorrow? {see img attached}

http://www.michaelcawcutt.com/dump/tix.jpg

How do you get to this page? When I click on the presale link for the show it sends me to the "blah blah blah tickets go on sale at 5pm..." page mentioned earlier. I need to set up my nin.musictoday.com account for the presale but I can't seem to find the link mentioned in the directions.

I did however set up an account for musictoday.com, will that be enough?

Slightly raged. tongue sticking out smiley

07/17/09 12:24 PM

^^ I took that screenshot yesterday. You are correct—until presales we are greeted with a "blah blah blah tickets 5pm sale page" smiling smiley

M

07/17/09 12:25 PM

So I'm not going to be able to set up the account until presale time? I guess I'm fucked with being able to get the tickets then.

07/17/09 12:27 PM

Hmm, maybe I can set it up when the NY tickets go on sale.

07/17/09 12:29 PM

^^ yeah, you can do it then if it won't let you before then

07/17/09 12:33 PM

Alright, I feel better now, thanks. smiling smiley

So I've never done presale before (obviously); are you able to pick which section of the ones available you want or do you just get what you get? I'm short and didn't enjoy the floor so much last time (unless I'm on the rail I can't see shit) so I was hoping to grab a balcony seat if it was offered. I'll be psyched either way though.

07/17/09 12:38 PM

Aragon is all general admission. I'd love to be on the balcony as well (I'm short too lol) and I'm hoping it's included as general admission for that show. If I have to be on the floor again, I'll suck it up on the rail again, but I'm going to call them when it gets closer to the show to see if the balcony is available for GA or not.

07/17/09 12:44 PM

I just checked a few sites to see about alternative ways to get tickets if I louse out on the presale tickets for this show.. Looks like stubhub and flebay already have a few sellers with listings that are not way out of line? I hope they are real tixs? I saw on the Chicago news last night how a bunch of people were scammed for the Elton John/Billy Joel show last night at Wrigly field. That sucks!..Just putting the news out there in case you need a back up plan?

07/17/09 12:46 PM

So, question. I know tickets are 55$ a piece, but is that without the facility fees and whatnot?

07/17/09 12:47 PM

I'm pretty sure that doesn't include fees

07/17/09 12:49 PM

Ah ok. Well here's to hoping they include it. I don't mind being jostled around on the floor but being enclosed by a bunch of 6ft giants drives me insane.

How was the rail? Some people say it's safer than the pit, others say it's worse.

07/17/09 12:49 PM

It said on the first post in the thread $55 plus fees I think

07/17/09 1:14 PM

I woud think the fees would add about $10-$15 more to the price.. still not bad for a small venue with a big name..

Yeah I try to get on the rail or close to it. Security is right there so I'd be able to get out quickly if I need to. Although, most people are really nice and helpful if you need to get out and aren't by the rail. Either sides of the stage usually aren't nearly as bad with the pushing as dead center. At Charter I was in front of Robin on the right and it was really bad, and I've read the left side of the stage was pretty mellow, but the entrance was on the right so I think people just clumped there which is why it was bad. But generally the sides are a pretty nice spot to be in. Still a good view, and still fun without the massive crushing.

I never thought of this...but...

Are tickets secured once they're in your cart or only after you have entered payment info and gotten confirmation?

07/17/09 2:06 PM

^^ no idea.

No, Discover is useless here, like most places on earth. Fortunately I found this out getting tix for a show in the middle of nowhere on second leg of LITS so I had time to grab a diff card.

You should be good once they're in the cart, normally it says you have 2 minutes or whatever to enter all yr info.

07/17/09 2:20 PM

I think im not even gonna try the presales.... I originally cancelled dinner with my family just to attempt to get presale tickets. Im thinking dinner with the fam sounds good and try to get tickets when they go on sale the 31st. Sooo ya guys got one less person to compete with in your attempts at the presale.

you'll have X amount of time to finish the transaction, or you lose them. otherwise, they're "holding".

07/17/09 2:23 PM

^^ That's what I thought...thanks folks! At least I know that if I get them in cart I can a slight breath of relief...Ha!

07/17/09 2:24 PM

Does amex work? Otherwise I'll use me chk card.

07/17/09 2:24 PM

I really need the presale because I'm flying thousands of miles and need to book my flights NOW before they sell out lol.
*nervous twitch*

07/17/09 2:29 PM

ugh, i can't believe i decided to stay at work for this. i would normally be leaving right now. and i'll probably have to walk in a storm too. the things i do for you, presale! the things i do for youuuu!

ps- still don't know if i wanna go ahead and get 2 or not. i already have a waiting list for my second ticket but... i don't know if i would trust them to abide by the presale rules and get there early enough and etc.... blah

I've got one person on nin.com who offered to carpool and get tickets for a second show. Unfortunately, I waited to respond to his last PM until just last night and haven't heard anything back yet-so it's got me a bit nervous.

I'm still open to other offers for carpooling from anyone who lives near Ames, IA or will be passing near it on their way to Chicago-or even just another deal to have me get two tickets for one show (I'm planning on trying for the Friday one) while they get two for the second and use each other's second ticket.

I'm really wanting to have some kind of back-up because the person who PMed me didn't seem entirely sure about certain details. I'd like to have something solid arranged before the pre sale starts.

07/17/09 5:30 PM

Logged in 20 minutes early, waited 40 minutes, never even saw a ticketing page. sad smiley

07/17/09 4:33 PM

i tried logging in for an hour, the account ive always logged into suddenly said my pass was wrong, and i couldnt log in until everything was sold out. fuuuuck

07/17/09 5:33 PM

Hey at least we'll be able to buy them from scalpers at $1,000 a pop.. Weeee :/
