I am in the Winnipeg area, how crazy to come back to my hometown for this perhaps last show? So far no one wants to come with me, the "old and crotchety" are bringing me down man!

08/12/09 10:07 PM

Does anyone know how to get Vfest by public transit in Toronto?

08/13/09 6:35 AM

I will have room for 2 comfortably to/from the show from Toronto area. I will not be at the show when it starts. I am going exclusively for NIN and am flying from Chicago in the morning so we will be getting there late, about 3-5pm. You will not however, miss any of Nails set smiling smiley

If you want to see OLP, I have no space for you.

08/13/09 8:58 AM

I am very glad to see Canada get one more show. And for T to get one more chance to show his appreciation for the enthusiastic support of his Canadian fans through the years.

08/13/09 11:52 AM

Venue change due to poor ticket sale. No kidding, who wants to drive all the way to Oro??? Molson Amphitheatre is the new location gang, soooo much easier to access. Check on the V-Fest website for details.

I'm pissed about the last minute switch up and I am raising hell about it. The reason being I booked a hotel out in Barrie for the weekend for me and my girlfriend, that costs jsut a little over 300 for the weekend. Now with the switch, I am going to be a no show to the hotel, and I am unable to simply cancel the reservation because I chose the "Best Available" package which means I got the room for cheaper, so no canceling. Being a no show means they are now going to charge extra on top of that.

These organizers are really fucking stupid. Yeah, good idea to have V Fest in the middle of fucking nowhere. Now this last minute swtich has me out over 300 dollars, and soon to probably be 400 because of the no show fee.

I sent an email to the organizers looking for any kind of compensation, and I wont leave them alone until I get something bsck.

08/13/09 12:14 PM

o thank fuck! now im fucking going

08/13/09 12:29 PM

Yeah im gonna have to say im pretty happy about this was already set to go to Oro, but relieved its right next door now... Can't believe its gonna be at the amphitheatre though I can't really imagine a festival there but I think thats whats gonna make it a unique experience. I must say I am worried about seating arrangements and/or the ability to get a GA wristband. There's gonna be people camping on sidewalks for them...

08/13/09 1:35 PM

Yeah, this has "clusterfuck" written all over it. I may just refund my 2-day pass and get a reserved seat for Sunday only.

08/13/09 12:41 PM

AH FUCK!! I was looking forward to it being in the middle of nowhere!! It was going to give me a chance to get close to the stage despite getting there late. The Amphitheater is not a good choice. What about Downsview? It works for Edgefest.

*grumbles* fucking lawns

08/13/09 12:45 PM

ya this is good and bad. Now i have to show up early to get a good seat and suffer through some shitty sets. Also, does anyone know those bought a 2 DAY PASS... were you issued 2 tickets or just 1?

If you were issued 1 than there is zero chance of us Sundayers to get GA floors. I might just buy a new ticket to guarantee at least 200s and refund my other one.

Also, when exchanging on the day of the show, I will probably have to get in a different line to exchange the ticket, then get in the line to line up. This is all kind of stupid. We shouldn't exchange the ticket they should just know it's an old ticket and let us in!

08/13/09 2:55 PM

I just spent 15 minutes on hold with Ticketmaster customer service and told them I wanted a refund. From what I understand, they are normally willing to give this in the case of a promoter changing the venue for any event. But then they told me that the promoter hasn't even officially informed them about the venue change. This might be why nothing about it has appeared on nin.com yet, since the promoters obviously found it unnecessary to tell anyone what was happening before updating their website and passing the buck to Ticketmaster.

IT BEGINS

so what happens if you already have tickets? do we get the pit and 200 section first. cause im sure that people who already bought tickets would be more than enough to fill the pit and 200 sections.

08/13/09 3:07 PM

The 200 section is pretty big, and you can apparently still buy tickets for it. But the floor is "first come, first served" to people with those tickets that also line up early.

08/13/09 2:22 PM

basically its gonna be first come first serve for the pits and whatever people are left over will be in the 200 section.I honestly think theres gonna be no available tickets for sunday in the pit and 200 section. im sure they already sold atleast a couple thousand tickets.

08/13/09 2:36 PM

I would appreciate from Virgin's part that 200 and GA's would be given to people who bought tickets for Oro... We should have priority on this... I love Molson Amphitheatre, and I would hate to end up on the lawn.

08/13/09 4:25 PM

I bought tickets for Burl's Creek and if I don't get 200 section or better then I will be more than a little pissed off. The organizers at Virgin must be morons, changing the venue just over 2 weeks before the show.

08/13/09 3:35 PM

i have confirmation that people who have purchased burls creek tickets will have the best seats. 200 or pit.

08/13/09 3:48 PM

buy ur tickets now from futureshop. its cheaper and your guaranteed good seats. plus they will be assigned soo you dont have to listen to the shitty bands perform.

No surprise there! Based on the size of this thread it seemed pretty obvious the distant venue wasn't going to be pulling in nearly as many as prior shows.

Now I might actually be able to make it assuming I get the tickets I want on Saturday.

I wonder how much it cost the event planners to ditch the other venue and switch so late in the game? That musta hurt someone's wallet.

Confirmation from where? TicketBastard wasn't even aware of the venue change. And how are the seats going to be assigned? GA is first come/first served according to v-fest page.

08/13/09 4:32 PM

ive talked with the virgin fest team on twitter and they are confirming that burls creek ticket holders get first dibs on pit and 200 section. go on twitter and ask questions if you like.

yes it is first come first serve but they wont sell more than the capacity can hold for the 200 section and the pit. the only thing is that you will have to be there early to get ur wristband for your assigned seat or pit entrance. im guessing being there at around 10am - 11am will be good enough to score you some pit wristbands and if not you wtill will have awesome assigned seats in the 200 section.

08/13/09 4:55 PM

well this sure makes for a huge clusterfuck...i still have 2 2 day passes up for grabs at less then face value..pm me if anyone is interested, yeah i'd be willing to split them up too...

08/13/09 7:00 PM

Whats up with the Future Shop tickets? I can't choose where to sit... Are they lawns?

08/14/09 4:16 AM

I am happy with the venue change, coming from out of town via airport no hassle trying to get to middle of nowhere, Ontario. And place to stay with cousin and no hotel or camping charges!

Just hope there are tickets left when go on sale.

I can't find tickets online at Future Shop, only in person sales?

did anyone else wish that DEP was playing vfest?
