This has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard!! I was looking forward to going to a festival, not this shit. Its just gonna be a damn fuckin circus down there, with the CNE and Ontario place open!!! What the fuck were they thinking?? The only reason I'm going is to see NIN, and I'm bringing my daughter for her first NIN show. I can't believe that we all are going from a festival, being able to walk around and chill to being stuck in a fuckin seat, paying out the ass for parking (if we can find any), water etc.... And they are putting all the vfest vendors, artist table, over at the CNE grounds. This sounds like such a huge headache, not to mention now for those of us who already have tickets will have to go super early just to ensure we get a wristband? If I didn't love NIN so much, and this wasn't the last show, I would just say fuck it!!

08/14/09 9:57 AM

wow. i guess i am the few who is super chuffed about ontario place.
see you guys there!

08/14/09 1:58 PM

So happy about this. Burl's Creek was such a shitty venue choice and the Amphitheatre is my favorite venue in Toronto. I will definitely be getting tickets. Plus, it comes with free CNE access, so at least I can explore while shitty ass Our Lady Peace are playing.

Does anyone know of any NICE campgrounds either in toronto or close to toronto... preferrably close to a metro station?

Can someone please let me know what kind of tickets your getting when you buy from futureshop

i am happy with the venue change (hate the venue, wish it was on the island) cos' i didn't want to go up there for two days. i was just going to go on sunday for nin.
now i can see the pixies too!

I can't believe you people! You are on an NIN forum so you're obviously fans, but you're not willing to drive an hour north to see their last ever show in Canada! I'm only upset over the venue change because it means a hassle to exchange my tickets, and the fact that the CNE is on that weekend, so traffic and parking will be murder. Anyone who wouldn't drive a hour north to see their last show should not even be an nin.com member!

08/14/09 11:21 PM

I am so bloody confused. People, please chime in on this...

If we already bought tickets for the Burl Creek show will we be given ASSIGNED SEATS in the 200s when we get there to exchange tickets or will the 200 section be GA? The v-fest website seems to suggest the pit AND 200s are GA which makes little sense to me.

08/14/09 11:32 PM

thank christ i decided to create more work for myself and see NIN twice in chicago instead of this mess. even when it was at burls it seemed like a bad idea because i hate festivals but the conversation of tickets from a GA venue to a stacked venue is going to be brutal.

I just called future shop and the woman told me that they were only selling general admission tickets on their website, so I'm guessing they will be the pit/200 tickets

I have a feeling parking's going to be a headache that day, as per this blog comment I spotted on another site: "Now we have to deal with the clusterfuck of the Clinton speech, the CNE, and a major festival all running on the same day in a limited space."

Thankfully Bill Clinton's speech is on Saturday, not Sunday when NIN is playing. As for CNE, ah well, I just suggest everyone be very clear what all your parking options are and have not only a backup but a third backup further away regarding where to park.

08/15/09 11:18 AM

I am happy that I no longer have to sleep in a tent. The 2oo sect are great seats, so I may settle for one of those rather than suffer all day there in order to have a pit ticket...then again I may choose to suffer for this one last opportunity. The energy is gonna be weird though with such a mixed crowd of people rather than solely NINers.

Ahhh, I woke up this morning and there weren't any left on the Future Shop site sad smiley
So I had to buy them off of ticketfuckmaster. I bought 3 tickets, it was $200 (Damn convenience charge) for section 406, row E... Oh well, I just didn't want lawns.

I went online to get Future Shop tickets and they still saying Burl's Creek so wasn't sure what to do so ended up with ticketmaster and 406 section. Be really pissed if meant I could have gotten 200 section but how are they gonna get everyone in that section and floors that bought the old tickets? Unless they really had very very poor sales.

And what happened to the 300 section? If not on ticketmaster or not being assigned to the old ticket holders, who gets them?

08/15/09 5:01 PM

section 406 row L seats 16-17

08/15/09 5:34 PM

Section 406 Row J seats 26-27. Can't wait to see NIN for the very last time.

I am in Row E Section 406. Anyone know how good or bad this section is? The place doesn't look that big.

I have checked out the 3D view but wondering how far away the section is from stage in reality. It LOOKS close but wondering if still need binoculars to see Trent's sweat or will he look like an ant kinda thing. I going no matter what, just curious. When I lived in Toronto this place didn't exist. It reminds me of Canada's Wonderland concert venue and the back seating there was OK but not great but better then way up in stands at the Ex Stadium or (in my day) the Gardens.

Is the camera policy still relaxed? Read last time he played there the staff were not taking kindly to cameras.

According to Virgin's site the camera policy is not relaxed. You should be fine bringing in a point and shoot camera though.

What to bring:
-Digital Camera (non-professional, i.e. no removable lens)
-Disposable cameras (non-professional)

What not to bring:
-Video Equipment
-Professional photo equipment (SLR cameras, i.e. removable lens cameras)
-Audio Recording equipment

get over yourself. just cos' someone doesn't want to drive to see a band doesn't mean that they shouldn't be a member. don't you remember trent's post on the scary super fans?

the drive would be closer to 2.5 hours in weekend traffic and the cost of renting a car and camping didn't appeal to me at all.

This is awesome news!!!

I am going to be able to go see NIN play their final show now! -Please- Can someone please help me find some GA's I can purchase, I would greatly appreciate it.

also since my byid card wont get here in time for the show,if you only have a healthcard DO NOT DRINK,they do random checks after you get your beer and if you only have that, you get the boot,i had that problem with NIN thankfully the rent a cop was nice and said "if i catch you drinking or holding another beer your out"(thank fuck for presale ticekts and being a donor)

Ok what part of "Last ever show in Canada" do you not understand? I wasn't planning on camping and would have had to drive 3+ hours. IT'S THEIR LAST SHOW!!

Hi there,
I went to see NIN June 2nd and was in an aisle seat in section 410 (nosebleed section). What sucked were: the smokers/tokers/lousy sound, drunken rowdies and constant talkers and being too short to see over the taller "kids" standing in the next lower row. (410/SectionJ). I sure as hell don't want to go downtown to see the final live NIN show (ever again?) in Canada for the cost, aggravation and bands I don't give a flying fuck about (even Pet Shop Boys - I'm a big '80s music fan). Hope the fans can use video cameras to record the last show live and upload them to the sight. Please...no crappy phone uploads - sound and video suck, really suck. Use a camcorder and watch were you stand in relation to the speakers - distortion is really annoying. Hope those who are going on the 30th have a great time and will remember those special moments. Love to know what songs are on the list. Can't be too many for the lineup that day. It starts at 1pm right?

Hi,
I was in Section 410/Row J and had the seat right beside the wall on the far left side. You could spit into the walkabout between the lawns and the seating area, it was so close. Sound was horrible - the acoustics near the wall and being open to the air above were so bad I heard mostly distortion and bass. I think you are staring straight down to the stage so you should have a decent view and sound in that section. Lucky you!

Just bought tickets at futureshop d/t. The guy was a little clueless and couldn't tell me anything about the sections. The ticket still says Burlington Creek, so I guess I'll have to take my chances on the day of the show.
