Dude, up until about half an hour ago, I wasn't going.

Can someone who has been in there before describe the American Express Lounge and what's in there? Thanks. I know where it is, but have never gone in before and I'm just wondering what I'll find in there. Are there full meals served? etc.

The Louder Lounge is apparently going to be up on the lawn.

Glad you can make it, Nat! thumbs up

OMG. Me too!

This is probably the second best day of my life, following my wedding day.

08/28/09 5:56 PM

Virgin just said this on their Twitter:

"final blocks of tickets just released in 200 and 300 levels. limited numbers, so get on it fast."

I just checked Ticketmaster, and 300 level tickets are listed as reserved seats, so it looks like sections aren't going to be merged.

Hey Prag,

I've been there a few times. They have a food table and you pick what you want, they never have much of a selection but it might be different for the festival.

Is this where they are serving the food and drinks to VIP ticket holders?

Thanks for the tidbit! The weekend VIP ticketholders don't have access to the American Express Lounge that I know of, they'll get their food at the 2 Louder Lounges. There will be one on the lawn and one by the secondary stage, from what I read in an email from Virgin Festival earlier this week.

200 is better than LAWNS, which is what I thought were only available. I might not have bought tix if they were lawns (because of my horrible vision. I saw the White Stripes in the 400s and I may as well have been watching them from outer space).

Of course I'd rather be in GA, but it's NIN's last show EVER (or is it?), so being there is an unexpected bonus. YAY!!!!

exactly, being fortunate or timely it's not something that applies for everyone. Some of us have a mortgage and a car to pay, bills, univeristy, etc. Some of us don't make as much money to go and spend it whenever we want in whatever we want... fucking priorities. So, saying "it's your fault" is just out of place. I doubt we didn't get Burl's Creek tickets just because we didn't want to.

There are people planning on jumping the fence or whatever... just let them be. Maybe they'll get lucky, maybe they'll get caught and kicked out of the venue... so what, their loss, not mine, not yours.

Best way to get into the pit is with a ticket. Like the one you said you were buying off me the last go-around - then didn't show up to meet me. And did the same thing to another person on the board. So, next time you talk about bills, mortgages, cars and money - think about who you've screwed over on this board alone for the price of a ticket.

I see that members of the TOIOU project have been coordinating some shooting and editing for the NYC shows but it doesn't look like anything has been organized for the Chicago/Toronto/LA shows. I am new to the forums but a long time fan and though I won't be there, if people are shooting and willing to send their raw footage to me (hopefully in .mov or .avi formats), I am willing to compile and edit some fan DVDs of the shows. I don't know if the camera policy will be equally relaxed at this venue.

Please PM me if you are interested in contributing audio or video footage.

08/29/09 8:37 AM

pretty sure there's a couple of TOIOU folks going...
Im off on my four hour drive to toronto for the festival of wet virgins (tacky, i know)...see you guys @ NIN...hope everyone has a wikked time grinning smiley

So 200 doesn't mean pit? fucking fuck.

No it does not. It's an unassigned seated section. The pit is only available to those with original tickets to Burl's Creek.

The other thing people can try if they know someone who got a wristband is the person can cut their wristband off and let someone else use it for six songs or whatever. Take turns in the pit and seats with others you know at the show. Just twist-tie or wire the wristband back together by poking a hole in each end and threading the wire through, but be very careful not to lose it on the floor since it won't be as secure any more.

There's options to get down there in the pit if people cooperate with each other and share, all without it resulting in an unauthorized amount of people being down on the floor are any given time. One wristband could potentially equate to up to 3 people seeing a good chunk of NIN's show from the floor, taking turns.

I'm really looking forward to the show now and HOPEFULLY getting a good sleep tonight!

The weather forecast is looking good and at this point should be fairly accurate:

Partly cloudy, chance of isolated showers, 18 degree high. Wind will be 20km/hr and noticeable, so bring a windbreaker.

Still hoping to hear The Great Below despite it being a complete long shot. grinning smiley Hopefully I'm Afraid Of Americans, too.

Virgin Festival Ontario FAQ

Last paragraph of the answer to the firs question

The 200 level seats are all unassigned. That means they're just like a patch of grass at other Festivals - if you leave your patch of grass, you might not get it back. You'll still be guaranteed a seat in the 200 level, but if you leave it and don't have a friend reserving it, you might not get the same seat back.

We'll have to spend the whole day there waiting for NIN. I'll do it anyway.

08/29/09 8:30 PM

Anyone know if you can access the 200 levels or the lawn if you have a 100 level ticket? My buddy ordered his tickets later than I did and is in the 200s while I'm in the 100s. I'd hate to ditch him, but I'd absolutley love to get into the pit haha

08/29/09 9:29 PM

Just got back from V-Fest for today... Lemme just say I went for the Pixies and boy were they awesome! I even got to trade my Burl's tix to get floors after arriving there after 6pm! On that note I asked if I could exchange tomorrow's ticket for the floor and ofcoarse they were already doing it! So now I already have floors for tomorrow FUCKING AWESOME! The pit was real cool during Franz and Pixies (didn't end up staying for Harper/7 all well). I forgot how damn close it is even when you are in the back of the pit... All this got me jacked for tomorrow's show and I already got my tix for where I want to be! To everyone that bought only a Sunday pass for Burl's; you have to exchange it at a white tent in front of the Ontario place entrance. You'll find your way by asking someone at the gates where to do it. You should go early if you want floors because unfortunately for you they were already handing them to people with a 2 day pass today. There might only be a small amount left so good luck!

08/29/09 9:39 PM

As Red_Barchetta said, we were able to exchange our tickets for ones clearly marked as "Floors" for both days, so I just wanted to reiterate that you might want to make a point of getting there early. Crowds today were pretty small though, from what I noticed - basically, the place filled up for Franz Ferdinand and the Pixies (both put on awesome shows) and then emptied out for the earlier bands and Ben Harper. Otherwise, things were pretty smooth from an organizational point of view ... no problems going in and out of Amphi to the Ex or Ontario Place, or anything like that. Oh, and merch was pretty reasonable too - picked up a new "Wave Goodbye" shirt for $30 (shirts were $45 at the June show). See y'all tomorrow!

So, early in the day I just sat down in an empty section of the 400s and got told by security to move to the lawn or to the pit (they saw my wristband). Later on though, I just sat down in the 200s for Ben Harper and no one cared as there was plenty of room. I'd say that if you were to hang out pre-NIN no one would give you any hassles.

If anybody wants a Burl's creek ticket - you're in luck. I was going to go, but last minute changes didn't allow it. Anyways, I was going to buy the ticket from a guy named 'Chris' at the line-up. He was going to be lining up around 9:30. His cell number is 705-768-7666. Just call him and say that Ben can't make it, and you're going to buy the ticket off of him. The price is $75, and just meet him at the line-up for 9 or 9:30-ish. Please don't call him right this instant [4:30am], and please don't go calling him all at the same time, I don't want his cell to be bombarded with random people fighting over a ticket. Hope you can get into the pit and enjoy the show.

08/30/09 5:25 AM

Ahhh the morning of a NIN show

08/30/09 5:32 AM

On Saturday sat in the 300s for a bit, the 200s for a bit, and the pit. No problems moving around anywhere...just act like you should be there and avoid the yellow-jacketed security dudes. They had the back of the pit blocked off with those large metal crowd-control barriers, so no-one's going to be jumping from the 200s to the floor. I was told that there were about 100 "Wave Goodbye" posters delivered, 50 for Saturday and 50 for Sunday...get one as soon as you see one. Considering how little time they had to prepare for the venue change things went smoothly. Advice: go to the food building at the Ex and get your food there. Much cheaper, more variety. There's even a rib festival by the bandshell, expensive but good. And it's licensed.

08/30/09 6:02 AM

Here we go, last show guys...
I'm heading into toronto from Cambridge now in hopes that my BC ticket still gets me into the pit. I really hope they didn't give out too many yesterday.
See you all there.

08/30/09 6:19 AM

The weather forecast from CBC:
Cloudy with sunny periods. 30 percent chance of showers late this morning and this afternoon. Wind southwest 30 km/h becoming northwest 30 gusting to 50 late this morning. High 20. UV index 5 or moderate.

Heading out shortly. When this was announced, I couldn't believe I'd get to see NIN again - thought June was the last time - and now it's finally here. No matter what the weather, this will be an amazing day!

08/30/09 7:59 AM

YIKES! Trent was very sick Saturday, and now Ilan has a cold...not good!

08/30/09 8:47 AM

dudes,

THIS is gonna be the sickest NIN concert ever....haven't seen them since they were in the Hammer last year ...was pissed that I missed the June show...and NOW .....they are back........fate is a wonderful thing!!!!!!

AND

I LOVE that they came back for one more.....unlike other bands that could have just been all "who cares...we were just there", they came back....and have been touring machines all summer..... Toronto( or Canada for that matter) LOVES and APPRECIATES NIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

see you at the show!!!!!!!!
