I sent an email to nintix@musictoday.com (the presale ticket provider) and this is the email response I received:

Dear Fan,

The will call box office window will open for presale ticket buyers around 3:00 PM. If you don't receive the e-mail with instructions, a nin representative will be available at the box office and can provide you with directions to the special entrance.
You may pick up your tickets anytime after 3:00 PM and come back later through the special entrance.

E-mails are scheduled to be sent out approximately 24 hours before the show with specific instructions to your show.

Thank you,

nin ticketing customer service dept

If you bought presale tickets you don't get them in advance. What you need to do is print out your confirmation email you should have received after ordering your presale tickets and take that along with your photo ID when you pick up your tix on the day of the concert (and they say bring the credit card you used to purchase the tix as well, but I don't know if they will actually go to the trouble of checking it or not). As you can see the response I received to my email says you can pick up tickets starting at around 3:00, but since this wasn't the "official" response email that we are all supposed to receive I can't vouch for that time. I've heard that "official" email doesn't usually come until a couple of days before the show.

Anyway, looking forward to a great show. Forecasts are currently showing partly cloudy weather and highs in the mid-to-low 40s, but those of us from around here know that that can change in an instant.

Excellent. Thanks souldrux and SmithDesign. I wish they would have just sent them out. I get paronoid going out of town without the tickets in my possession. Anyways, yeah! SUPER PUMPED! Just booked my hotel and were all set!

If it's your first, you might get lucky. They usually end up being late; with one week to go, you're gonna make the show, but guaranteed your back and feet are gonna be killing you by the end of the night.

I went to a couple small concerts (unsigned punk/industrial/ebm bands, mostly) when I was about 8 & 9 months preg, with 1st and 2nd.

For everyone's information: GA tickets are on the floor of the hall. There will be no seats (except those required by AWDA laws), but there will be the metal banisters around the stage area & the fabric/metal separators used by banks and such, to form some kind entry way wall. The $34 tics are for the balcony, and I think it has seats, but also open area by the banisters overlooking the floor. I've never been to the center myself, but you can see pictures of it on their website & the info on the set-up is from my first hand knowledge of how concerts are usually set up (the ex tried to play local promoter for some small time bands for a while and I got to see it from the ground up in the clubs--the Center won't be much different, just on a bigger, better equipped scale).

1 week to go!! Still not sure if I'm taking my man-toy or my 9 year old. I want to take the kid, bad (it's about the right age for a first concert and he's said he's really starting to like NIN), but there's the matter of safety to look at. I can't risk him getting hurt, period, but especially right now, with custody still an issue with the ex.

I still think it's awesome, to be able to WALK to a NIN concert! There was no way I wasn't springing for those tickets, even if it is pretty pricey for my budget. Yay!!

11/14/08 12:03 PM

$34 for seat tickets? i got GA concourse (or something) and they are $54 (i think). from what i could decipher the GA concourse are seats with no number...so its like a first come first serve. i never saw the cheaper tickets, i dont think they were in the presale.

i wonder what time they will be getting into town. i dont want to stalk the US cell but i really want to see if trent could sign the fragile for my sister. "we're in this together" was her wedding song. i think ive brought that cd to every show since the spiral went live and said there were meet and greets. no matter what, nails has never disapointed me in their live show. from my first concert in '94 (still have the ticket) and every midwest show i've seen them at....its always been mind blowing.

hope to see some of you there....ill be the tall skinny guy with long hair wearing the 07 spiral shirt...lol.

I'm sure the cheap seats are around the balcony (sections B & C), which is WAY far from the stage. Think graduated nosebleed section. The seats on the floor (sections M & R) are the concourse and they are mobile, meaning padded folding chairs. Click on the link below, then the link on the left at the bottom of that page that says:

Seating

Scroll over the diagram and it shows you the view from each section. There's no way in hell they're putting removable folding chairs out for a NIN concert. One drunk idiot and there's the end of that show. The GA tickets for the presale are on the concourse, the floor of the center, so unless they have a way of bolting down those chairs, that's a standing section; the GA tickets sold after the presale are on the balcony, and those seats will be first come, first serve, hence it is general admission, just two-tiered GA, so two-tiered pricing. smiling smiley

If anyone LIVES in CR and would like to go, send me a PM. I want to take my son, but I've decided it might be too risky. Maybe in a couple years, if NIN is touring again, when he's a little older and a little taller. The boyfriend doesn't really like NIN too much (somehow, someway, I ended up with a rock n' roller, old hair metal drummer, redneck, Libertarian...they do say something about opposites attracting, but it's still kind of a shock...heh). So, while I'd love to take 2 of the three important men in my life (the third is 4; he is definitely NOT going), I'd much rather bring someone old enough who actually enjoys the music, too. Free ticket. I paid for it already. All you have to do is show up and say thank you, and then you can even be on your way, if you don't like me. Wouldn't blame you. I can get annoying. smiling smiley

Well my Due date is actually Dec 17th so I have a month for that yet. This will be my third but my first two went right around their due dates with no signs of early labor this time either. I hope to god I can find a seat in the concourse section or I'd be pissed I let go of early entrance on pit tix. (since all the praying in the world won't get me through for a M&G chance from the radio, BOO) Originally I was/went to the Aug 2nd show in Mn, but since they scheduled that within my last month til term I was estatic when they announced this show.

From the many times I have seen NIN they never stay in the hotel closest to the venue because they also know that is where the fans are staying. I booked a hotel on priceline and got a great deal on a faily expensive room, think I may have a chance of staying at the same one as them.

Well if you don't know Cedar Rapids, there aren't many hotels by the venue. I think it is a Hyatt or something so I would assume they would be there.

ALSO is anyone as scared as I am that they won't be doing an encore?? Didn't do one in Fort Wayne last night and I am worried we won't be getting one! Hope it isn't because Trent broke the screen!

AND FINALLY I would assume we will be getting The Great Destroyer since it wasn't played last night which makes me SO FUCKING EXCITED!!

the Crowne Plaza is connected to the US Cell....its kind of a shit hole. they just got bought out so it should be better then it has been. the news was saying that there were rooms without heat or phones and they were also not paying their employees because they were broke.

one more note about the area. one of the parking ramps is still closed due to the flood but the other one next to the hotel is still open. there is also a parking lot across the street that has been used for shows before....i believe there is a fee to park there but it beats the ramp.

the show is tomorrow and i have no clue what time im getting there to grab my tickets and wait around....i might head down and be there by 5 and just walk around...maybe meet some of you...stalk the band smiling smiley i'd still like that autograph for my sister...

11/19/08 11:45 AM

That's good to know, I was curious about parking. I'm coming from waterloo, there should just be exit signs off 380 for the place right? I've only been to the malls and the science center before it closed so it's been awhile since I've been down that way.

Incase we DO have to stand outside I hope it's as nice tomorrow as it is today, it's not too chilly....

take the ramp for US Cellular Center, follow 7th street to 1st Ave and turn right(toward us cell), then turn right on fith street...the open parking ramp is between 4th and 5th street....there should be an enterance on 5th at the top of the hill. im doing this from memory i havent used the ramp in sometime.....the parking lot i was talking about is across from the ramp. its a small lot, if they open it there should be a guy standing next to a sign that says "parking lot" or something clever like that.

<a href="[maps.google.com]; is the google map of the cell center...i guess it doesnt like my html...the address is 370 1st ave. n.e.

Don't know if any of you are in the Iowa City area, but I go to University of Iowa and Trent was spotted at our local Chipotle today. Turns out they are staying at an expensive hotel here before the show in Cedar Rapids tomorrow.

11/19/08 4:06 PM

Aww shit, that'd make more sense considering Hotels are much nicer there than CR if I remember correctly.

11/19/08 4:10 PM

Yeah they are staying in a place called Hotel Vetro, its very nice. it sits above a nice sushi place too and our entire downtown area. Might check out if they go to the bars later on tonight.

11/19/08 5:19 PM

Tomorrow! Hell Yeah! Hopefully we get a decent set list. Im worried about it being the same from lolla... Not that it would be any less of an awesome show, however me i'm not and the great destroyer are my favs off of Year Zero... Although the warning would be cool again too. Anyway yeah the lack of an encore in last nights show has got me a little worried too. Either way its gonna kick ass though so im not too worried about it.

11/19/08 4:22 PM

Their set at Lolla was by far my favorite of the entire weekend
