just got back from the show. i seriously could not believe how fucking cool this show looks. i mean u honestly have to be there to understand how beautifully done it was. my girlfriend was blown away. I wanted to hear the wretched got it... wanted to hear the big comedown got it.... wanted to hear down in it got it!!!! and reptile...holy shit that song rocks unlike anything i ever imagined. fuck yeah! that totally made up for the half year wait. trent didn't even need to apologize for the postponement after blasting through down in it. all was fogiven the moment they took stage. there will never be anything like this show ever again.

Just finished uploading and tagging the best shots I got from the show.

The whole thing was a massive blur and even looking at the setlists I can't completely recall what was shot during what song. If you're browsing through, please let me know in the comments!

Here are a few of the better ones:

Trent thanking the crowd (and us saying "Thank YOU!"winking smiley:

awesome show, clearly. no energy to really go into detail right now but i'll come back to it later.

will upload photos and videos to my flickr tomorrow probably, and i'll link to it here (or you can find it on my profile). i have a pretty decent camera, and was in front of mr. finck all night long.

ps - i think i may have personally slightly cheesed mr. R off... more details when i have time, again.

pps - gettin' tired of people in line letting other people in their "group". luckily somoene calmed me down smiling smiley

Those pics are awesome guys.

Here's three pictures, click them for the full-size, high quality versions. I've got tons of others, but i have to sift through them to find the best ones. Right now I've got a couple from "Closer", plus a little cover image I threw together in Photoshop for fun.

http://www.deejaygamer.com/nin_mn/cover_image-prev.jpg

http://www.deejaygamer.com/nin_mn/closer_01-prev.jpg

http://www.deejaygamer.com/nin_mn/closer_02-prev.jpg

I second one I did a little bit of Photoshopping on in the bottom-left corner to get rid of a guy's head in the foreground-it was fairly simple given the fact that the particular corner was more-or-less all black.

I'll have some more photos probably later-not sure about video since it turns out the camera I was using for the video was a complete piece of crap.

Edit: Didn't realize the preview images would stretch out the forum here, I hope that's not any trouble. I can shrink the preview images down to about the width of the first one if it's a problem.

I can't believe what just happened last night.. I mean seriously!

The Wretched, The Great Destroyer, Down In It, Reptile...it's like they read my mind!

We had seats in section 113, 8 rows up. So that put us on Justin's side . Our view was obstructed a bit by two speaker cable cords hanging down. Plus one of the light rigs blocked our view of Alessandro & Josh. WIth that said, we had a straight on view of TR the whole time. Not to mention a kinda sneak peak of the action behind the LED screens. Saw TR right away as he came onto the stage.

I'm glad I went to the CR, IA show; where I had a more full on stage view to appreciate the visuals. But it was unbelievable being that close to TR & seeing up-close, the energy & conviction in his performance. Josh & Justin blew me away as well. They didn't hold anything back either.

I definitely feel like the guys more than made up for having to reschedule.

Got a few decent pics. My video was crap, tho. Security was keeping a close eye on us. They would come over & hassle anyone who they thought was recording the show. So I'm depending on all those in the pit to post some kick-ass footage. Please!!!

o man that was made of pure win

it was my first nin show and it was already 100 times better then anyother band ive ever seen and probably ever will

not that i realy needed any reminders but nin went from my favorite band to like tripple my favorite band

the only thing that kinda sucked was me and my friends got bad seats top lvl back corner...but hey that never stoped us from moshing so it was all good

i even got sick today and when i went to the school nurse and she asked what was wrong i just mumbled under my breath "nin withdrawls"

srsly though that was awesome i cant wait for the next concert

11/26/08 10:06 PM

I uploaded a medley of the videos I got from the show- but they aren't showing up yet on the NIN page. During the Wretched I was leaning against the rail on Robin's side of the stage- so that one turned out all right (it came from my cell phone so it's the best I could do). I ran out of memory about half way through the show, so I didn't get Reptile, and I only got three seconds of Terrible Lie, but I think I did all right. Here

Fucking battery on our camera crapped out - so only thing I got in full was the apology and closer. got snips of everything else in what preliminarily looks like pretty good quality. Reptile totally fried my chicken if you get what I mean (and if you don't I mean it was badass). Josh was awesome as usual. Hope the new guy's got his chops up, Josh is a tough act to follow. And Thanks again to Trent. Only way it could have been better would be a meet & greet. But this was definitely a great first show for my wife.

Hey! It was great getting a chance to meet you & your wife. Glad to hear she enjoyed the show.

My hubby's not as into NIN as I am. Burned him a couple cd's of what I thought would be on the show's set list. Just so he'd get more familiar with the newer songs. He definitely was impressed. I mean how couldn't you be?? It was fucking awesome!

Big Come Down was his favorite. As for me, that's a toughy. March of the pigs is ALWAYS great live. But Reptile blew my mind!

I really liked Terrible Lie, The Wretched, Head Down, too. That was the best concert I've ever been to. It was well worth the 10 hr drive round-trip!

We were stoked to meet some other Iowans at the show... I assume there were probably a few who bought pre-sale before the Iowa shows were announced. Yeah, my wife has only really been a background NIN fan since I am, but she was floored with the whole show. I've got some video going up as soon as I can get it on YouTube. I'd drive that far any day to see them. Well, except for today when I couldn't possibly drive fast enough to get to the Council Bluffs show. Oh well... Here's hoping they hit Madison on this tour. Unusual that they haven't, but maybe they thought Milwaukee was close enough.

Here's some more pictures, plus a couple "bonus" images, so to speak.

Again, they stretch this forum, I think though it's because the style sheet makes the thing so skinny. Still, I'd be happy to make special even smaller preview images if it's a serious problem. If no ones minds, that just means less work for me.

And a couple of extra little images:

And an actual illustration/description at the Minnesota Zoo-I figured it was relevant enough, it bears some similarities to the lyrics of "Closer", anyway.

I found it rather humorous-or maybe it's just the juvenile kid inside me that found it humorous.

Anyway, I think I've got a few more halfway descent pictures hanging around someplace so I'll get those up as soon as I can as well.

Shirtless Soundboard Guy

Trent's Apology

Medley of various clips from the show set to Reptile.

I'm surprised my little sister hasn't posted yet about her snagging one of Trent's tambourines from the show. It was tossed 4-5 people to the left of us and amoungst all the excitement she managed to knock off my glasses while screaming "I got Trent's tambourine" over and over again.

Anyways... another GREAT show by Trent and Co. I keep telling myself I need to see at least one show from afar to take in all the visuals, but I don't think I could peel myself away from the rail anytime soon.

OMG Athena your sis is a very lucky girl! I would be so freakin thrilled to have such a memento from Trent! Now I'm crying

This was my fourth show and I have to say it was probably the best in many regards. Only thing to make it better would have been if I had more of my friends with me, but that couldn't be helped.

I thought the setlist was amazing. The light show was awesome on so many levels.

My personal highlights: The Frail/Wretched (although Trent threw me with that La Mer intro), The Great Destroyer, Down In It, Echoplex, and The Big Come Down.

This show was well worth the long ass wait and will get me through the Christmas retail season for sure. A very Happy Thanksgiving indeed.

I haven’t been reviewing the other shows that I’ve attended this tour, but I think this one (as my 9th and final of '08) wins. winking smiley It was a pleasure to stand in front of Robin for a change, and I rather enjoyed the company this time around. smiling smiley

Thank you to Travis(sp?) for being extremely entertaining on the line. Hah. I hope you enjoyed your first show. (It makes me happy to know that my extra ticket went to someone who really appreciated it.)

Thank you to everyone else, also. You will probably be stuck with me again in the future, as I’m sure I will come back out there for more shows.

Awesome show, and a fitting ending to my '08 NIN-following experience. Damn.

I still have to upload Trent's apology and introducing the band.
