Absolute time of my life.
My first NIN show, been waiting for 3 years because the 'rents are assholes like that.
Whatever, well worth the wait. Can't wait to get in the pit again for another show.
Amazing setlist, as has been said.
Two days later and I'm still high off it.

When the first show was postponed, I had a hard time deciding whether or not I'd make this show. I finally realized that I probably wouldn't get such kick ass tickets again, so I took the plunge. The only thing that really concerned me was the weather. I'd be driving up from Chicago and who knows what could happen between here and Minneapolis at the end of November? I was hoping beyond hope that there wouldn't be a blizzard. Thankfully the weather cooperated!

The first time in Minneapolis, I had no idea what the city was about. I didn't know about the skyway. This time, I printed a map, and boy was that fun! Leaving the hotel room, and going everywhere without a coat was pretty convenient. Driving around at night to look at the river district and skyline was amazing. Got some really nice photos out of that.

When the concert started, I was looking forward to Boris because I heard people liked them. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. It didn't sound like music to me, just a bunch of noise.

When NIN took the stage, I checked the time. It was just before nine. It seems like the show went so fast. I don't know if it's the excitement, or the pace? There were some parts where it seemed to slow down, but just a little.

I liked that Trent apologized. I noticed he wasn't very talkative. A "Thank you" here and there, and that was about it. When he apologized, it was pretty lengthy, and I was surprised. I felt like screaming back, "IT'S OKAY! APOLOGY ACCEPTED!"

I hadn't been reading the reviews of the other shows because I wanted to experience it for myself. The lights were incredible. The set list, fuckin' A! The only thing missing was "Me I'm Not," but that would have killed me, so, yeah.

When "In This Twilight" was ending, and one by one they were leaving the stage, I checked the time again. Trent was playing the last notes at 10:59.

Overall, I had a great time in Minneapolis. The show was the highlight, and it was well worth the wait.

For me, this was the best set list on the tour. I really enjoyed hearing "Down in It". It has been a few years since I hear that live (back in 2006). I think it would have been perfect if they included "God Given", but I really appriecated "Reptile".

11/28/08 9:21 AM

Did Boris play like 2 really long songs? kidding... but some of the songs seemed to never end. The drummer is the star. smoking smiley My tickets on the side way way up actually didn't turn out too bad. Some parts were blocked. The folks around me were cool. A guy beside me told me it was his first concert in 14 years and proceeded to smoke some herbal cigs. The staff there were really great. Minnesota nice!

Got the best view of Josh out of the 3 shows I have seen. AMAZING!

Man you folks took some amazing pictures! Are you after Rob's job? winking smiley Also glad y'all survived the pit, it looked pretty intense there a couple of times from 24 rows up.

Pizza Lucia was AWESOME!

soberbill, did you make it back okay? Was really cool hanging with ya!

I'm really enjoying the videos aggregated by the new video feature, the NIN.com team did a hugely great job with that!

Did anyone else get video of Only? I love the one that's up but I'd love to see other angles.

Also, I can do video stabilization so if anyone wants to send me raw footage I can try to process it in After Effects. It can't work miracles (my video fragment during March of the Pigs can't be helped) but here's how my video of Echoplex looked before and after a few hours of work.

I give this show a 9.9 out of 10 "Fuck Yeah!"s. It was totally amazing.

The sound, the clarity, the lights, the songs, the everything. It is really impressive what a group of professionals can accomplish for a performance such as this. Every detail seems to produced flawlessly. I know they do the show over and over, but the level of timing, the level of perfection is still incredibly impressive.

And I know that we're all a bunch of Reznor fanbois here, but Alessandro, Justin, Robin, and Josh are incredibly amazing musicians. Man, I especially thought the drum-work was out of this world.

I almost didn't make this show like some others, but I am sure glad that I did. I was a little bit pissy about the postponement, but I felt like a total jerk about when Reznor apologized. These people have lives too and not everything goes according to plan.

Anyway this was my first show and I totally enjoyed, feel like the amount of entertainment I got out of it was a steal for the price of the ticket, and will definitely see the band again if the situation presents itself.

Some of my favorite moments were the green lights for reptile, the raining effect on teh front screen and the little pockets where you could see Trent through it, and the huge red NIN sign that showed up during a break. That was totally awesome.

WHat an amazing show, I still can't quite get over teh level of clarity - production, sound, lights, presentation - that was maintained throughout the show. Wow.

Thanks for hitting Minnesota NIN!

This was my first Nin concert...I was on floor in front of stage...and it was fucking
KICKASS!!!!
The lights...the band...and watching Trent sing my favorite song Reptile...sweat dripping off his body..touching himself and jumping around was orgasmic...(Better than any gourmet food...hot sex...drug or alcohol)
I'm addicted and longing to go to every concert...
Thank you Trent & band...

Keep watching this thread and the one on ETS. I'm sure someone's gonna upload one eventually.

11/29/08 1:37 PM

I almost forgot!

During the show's 4th song, Discipline, the front closure of my bra came unhooked..all by its self.
For real! Never had that happen before....

Had to finagle it back together while recording the song on my camera.

That's a true sign of a GREAT rock band!!

My husband was a little jealous.... smiling smiley

I just wanted to thank everyone for posting their vids and pics of the show. I also take a chance to not complain about posting pics on this thread cause I'm one of the few folks with dial-up. sad smiley Keep them coming!spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, but I'm also glad no one had any bad experiences at the show.thumbs up There was only one person I noticed who looked like they were trying to get out of the mayhem and found themselves in the pit. I asked if they were okay a couple of times, but they looked a little shell-shocked. I hope they found themselves some cool water and calm.

Awesome show!!!!!!! my first NIN show and I loved it

11/29/08 8:11 PM

I just found this thread! Been looking for one like it.

I was in the second row behind NINfreak7 for the whole show and it was one of my first few live show experiences.

I wish I would have gotten awesome pictures like you guys did, but I couldn't get my arms up long enough so I only had a few. I'll look through them again and see what I can find.

Thank you Trent and everyone who made that night the most amazing experience of my life!

I think I met you, but I'm not too sure. I was damn close to dead center on the barricade myself.

This show was totally worth the last-SECOND drive from Wichita, KS to Minneapolis on no sleep. THANK YOU to Jessica for the presale ticket and to Justin for orchestrating it! I loved all the "rareties" thrown into the set! And it was nice to meet Leo, Theodora, Radium, and all the others I don't remember screen names for. smiling smiley I was on rail in front of Robin. He's so fun to be in front of. I love him for throwing me a water bottle when I really needed it!

it hasn't even been a week and i still can't stop thinking about this concert. i didn't have a camera, so *this will probably make me sound like a dick somehow* but thanks for everybody posting pics and videos. really helps me to relive the best day of my life.

12/01/08 9:46 PM

Perhaps its because of my sheltered life in Bemidji, MN, but I didn't even know that some of the technology used at this concert really existed. I want to know every instrument that was played, and how the entire production of sound is pulled off. Was the on-screen drum loop being triggered through Reason? Additionally, I can only assume that the clip of people having sex in the bathroom was not actually taking place at the Target Center. Anyone want to correct me on that? Because that would be amazing. Coolest show ever.

Hey, it's all good. You shouldn't need a camera to enjoy a show!

I have a horrible memory so even on the best days sometimes I need a photo or video to kickstart my recollection and bring me back into the moment. The stuff everyone captured at the NIN show really did that for me. NIN.com's aggregation system is freaking amazing - some other people got some amazing pictures and video at the show too! disafect666, Theodora, and tmjproductions got some of my favorite pics and Theodora, scottorr, ladyclare, and imjasonh got some great videos too. That's not to say they're the only good ones, just my faves. grinning smiley

Really though, to relive the show without having to rely on someone being sneaky and getting a bootleg is freaking awesome. I hope everyone else that gets video/photos does the tagging thing too.

I definitely agree about Boris! That drummer... and the gong... DAYUMMMM!

Anyway, on to NIN! First, thank you guys so much for posting the set list!! I was far too awestruck to remember to write anything down.

I got some of the pre-sale lower level seats (first section [129], sixth row [F], first/second seats directly to the right of the stage) because I wanted to enjoy the show and not have to constantly worry about people landing on my head. These seats owned. I could see the guys come on and off stage and could see Trent xyelophonin' it up between the screens during the Ghosts songs. I got videos of Ghosts 19, Piggy, Reptile, The Good Soldier, Terrible Lie (breakdown), Down In It (breakdown), Echoplex, and Trent's apology. If you want to check them out, add me on MySpace or Facebook (linkage is on my profile on here). I'll also try to upload them to my YouTube account soon...

I got 40-ish pictures, but most turned out terribly blurry. Still, they are all also up on my MySpace and Facebook if any of you are interested. I will upload them to the gallery here soon, too.

I was sort of hoping for Starfuckers, Inc., The Great Below, and Into The Void. However, I was more than pleased with the show. When the video-Trent "Closer" performance was going on, three words: BETTER THAN SEX. That goes for the entire night.

Oh, and whoever got Trent's water bottle and tambourine... you lucky, lucky bitches!

12/05/08 6:48 AM

this show was the HIGHLIGHT OF MY YEAR!! im making myself a fantastic scrapbook w pics from the show. i'd really like to do a section on the 2005 show at xcel does anyone have any pics they'd share w me?

12/05/08 8:20 PM

The show was fucking incredible, what can I say?

I now can completely understand the people that see them 5 or 6 times during a certain tour.

I have never, ever experienced something like that in my life. I was sore for days afterwards (and I wasn't even in the pit!) from jumping and fist-pumping (man I need to get in shape)... I was soaked with sweat halfway through because of adrenaline... Trent was at the top of his game, that's for sure. I have never screamed/yelled that loud before in my life. Can't believe I still had my voice after the show. The acoustics in the Target Center were top-notch too.

So... any wagers on how long we'll have to wait before NIN is in Minnesota once again?
