Show was, of course, awesome.

Thanks Jamelie for the ride from Berkeley, and the cookies. Thanks to araby for the extra ticket. Thanks to Primary1 and 1Kali3 for coordinating spots for me in line (even if it didn't totally work, but then we still got rail, even if not the perfect Tricep-eye View y'all had), and also coordinating pizza. Thanks to lizbonez88 for the red vines and homemade beef jerky.

Shout out to the woman who brought us chocolate-dipped strawberries, hope you managed to regain rail after your ticket snafu.

Shout outs to sdmart, raznkn, mrx_75... and everyone from NINAs... see y'all tomorrow tonight in Vegas.

show is over and it was awesome as usual!!

We were in seats in section 108 on JMJ's side. I brought both a camera and camcorder to this show to try to record as much as possible. Hurray for proper planning because I got the whole show, all 2+ hrs of it, recorded on the camcorder. I will uplink to videos when I get home to Philly.

This was my 4th show of this tour and it STILL is totally amazing! Can't wait for Vegas in a few hours but it was great to get one more arena show before the end if this leg. I'm just in awe still of the genius planning to make a spectacular show like this happen. Well done, bravo!!

I was surprise to hear how tired Trent sounded at the end. His voice cracked during his speach, which seemed to be much shorter than usual. He also kept ITT to the lower notes on the final verse. Guess he's really just human after all... winking smiley

Wow, that was a fantastic show. Thank you Trent for giving Sac another chance to redeem itself. I hope you'll come around these parts again. I was blown away, to say the least!

12/13/08 1:49 AM

Wish i hadnt seen the exact same show in Oakland. Come on Trent, you could have mixed it up a little. Great show again. I hope you do better in Vegas, or I might gripe again.

12/13/08 2:54 AM

The show was great! Even better than the Oakland one earlier this year! I'm so glad I got to go (I had finals at UC Davis this week and wasn't sure I was going to get to go).

I was sorry to hear how bummed out Trent sounded about the upcoming changes to the band. If it's any consolation, NIN puts on the best concerts I've ever seen. smiling smiley

Man, my ears are ringing like crazy right now. Thankfully it's from a good thing. smiling smiley

12/13/08 1:50 AM

Awesome fucking show! My head is still fucking ringing. SO sick. Don't think the crowd was as good as oakland but this concert was so much better for me. This time I was right on the rail in front of Justin. Was awesome love the way he plays. ANyone who has pics or video from that section seriously hit me up my buddy was lame and forgot his camera. The blond girl in front of me for sure captured everything. Hook it up. THe presales confusion thing kinda sucked but it worked out. Still hyped. Wish I could have found a decent after party

wish i didnt have to work tommorow....... id be in vegas

Presale line confusion was ridiculous. It was absolutely too cold. But the show more than made up for it, fucking awesome!

12/13/08 2:41 AM

It was not the exact same show as Oakland and it was fucking awesome. smiling smiley

Yeah, I read his comments about the last Arco show (in 2005, which I thought was great)...

bummer. Just spent the day discussing touring up through next summer, then play our asses off to the least responsive audience I can ever remember playing to. I know I'm bitching but it's a shitty feeling. As I'm walking to the bus to leave Sacramento as soon as I can, I learn Jerome is back in the hospital. I have no idea what this means...

...and was hoping the Arco crowd wouldn't suck this time around. Hopefully it was better. It sounded like he thought so.

I agree with Nihilim, it was not the same show as Oakland. The whole screen with smoke rings was new,
I frogot what I was going to say, I'm a little messed up. Some dude in fromt of me was wiritng down the set list, I was hoping he'd post it tnoight.

The crowd was insaaaaaaaane. At one point I couldn't breathe, I was packed so tightly between a girl to one side of me, the arm of the guy I went with, and the hips of some other guy. Thankfully the crush only lasted for a little while, but it was intense (and very awesome). I didn't get many pictures--batteries in my camera fell out--so I'll be looking at everyone else's pictures. Luckily after that, my guy got behind me and put his arms around me so I had a little room to actually breathe and if I'd had room to turn around I could have kissed him for that. I feel like I've been run over, it was great.

Can't say I liked the hours in the cold... but it was definitely a great show.

Robert, did you see the Sac & REview interview 12-11-08? He said he does';t even remember saying that. He may have been BSing, what else would you tell a Sacramento reporter? Heehee.

12/13/08 3:07 AM

I also feel bad, we got escorted in a cool covered cart thing like we were VIPs, it was awesome but I felt bad for all the people waiting in the cold!!

Nope, I haven't seen that. I got that quote from NIN wiki:

12/13/08 4:06 AM

Absolutely brilliant show! I had previously been to the LA show, but this one sounded way better. I have seen some many other big production shows this year (from Metallica to Coldplay) but NIN just takes it to another level.

Below is a set list from memory (could be a little inaccurate):

999,999
1,000,000
Letting You
Discipline
March of the Pigs
Head Down
The Frail
The Wretched
Closer
Gave Up

The Warning
Vessel

21 Ghosts III
28 Ghosts III
19 Ghosts III
Piggy
The Greater Good

Pinion/Wish
Terrible Lie
Survivalism
The Big Come Down
31 Ghosts IV
Only
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like a Hole

Encore:
Echoplex
The Good Soldier
Speech/Introductions
God Given
Hurt
In This Twilight/Zero-Sum piano outro

The upper sections of the arena were closed, but the lower sections were packed with people! I was very surprised to see such a large turnout for the Sacramento show.

Trent thanked the crowd and said that this was a bitter sweet moment for the band because some massive line up changes are coming. He also confirmed that this will the second last show with this stage production. Well deserved break coming for Trent after the down under shows!

I don't know why, but something tells me that the next time NIN tours, Trent will somehow top this... despite what he said in his previous posts!

Tons of guys in the crowd with SLR's so please post your pics. I will post mine soon (point and shoot pics).

Gluck to the bootleggers in Vegas, please share your results with the rest of us!

I have linked my pics to the Images section here, but here is the URL on Flikr:

Could have been the exact same show for filming purposes

I thought it was a fantastic show. I saw NIN twice during the With Teeth tour, and this completely blows those two away (suffice to say they had their moments). I was in or around the pit the whole show, and everyone around me was having a great time and totally rocking out. There wasn't any single thing in the show that struck me as being 'that moment,' rather, I think the entire performance was just a strong one.

I don't really care for people talking about Trent repeating performances or not giving speeches like he has before. I'm surprised the band can put on as amazing a show as they have given the circumstances, honestly.

I just hope Trent enjoyed the show as much as I did, considering the last show in Sacramento was apparently a sub par one.

Also: Vessel. Fantastic good good.

12/13/08 8:24 AM

Another mad energy awesome spectacle that me and many thousands of lucky souls shall never forget! I woke up this morning and the show is burned into my brain. Is this heaven? No, I think that was last night.

Nashstat beat me to posting the set list; I can confirm all but a couple of Ghosts. Set list was excellent. Wish they would have played Me, I'm Not and Reptile but I'm not complaining. It amazes how more impressive some of the songs are than the recordings. You just can't get the energy in a recording that is delivered in the show. Full credit to the band and production for that. Too bad no movie of this tour. Next time around: IMAX 3D!

I saw them a month ago in Ft Waynus close to home. Knew I had to see it again. Flew to SMF b/c it works better than Vegas. Second time around was different just because I kinda of knew what was coming. Also, last time I was in the pit 3 back from Trent on the floor sweatin my ass off, this time I was in a seat just behind the control area eye level with the band. Quite a different perspective. GA was better because you're just totally consumed and encompassed by the lights and swept up in the energy of the crowd and band.

As with past shows, you have to love the way Trent plays with our moods and energy. Brings us up, slows us down, amp it up again, burn those mellow thoughts into our heads then sends us back out into fucking reality. Could you imagine what would happen after the show if he finished with Gave Up or one of the other atomic blasts?

Trent's voice seemed to be noticeably worse. He is so game and managed through it great. For that reason I wish I could have seen the show early in the tour.

If there is interest I thought about updating a set list with a reminder of each visual element. Amazing. How else to describe it?

This post is already too long, but I could keep going. So many superlatives.

Great show, once again. Wish I was on my way to Vegas right now!

I was there in 2005 to witness the "the least responsive audience I can ever remember playing to" and was happy Sac came out to give the band a good showing.

Stunning visuals, awesome sound. Trent has said in the past that future tours would be stripped down, but then he gives us this beautiful experience. Like someone said above, I would not be surprised if he tries to one-up himself next time around.

As "Queen" would put it, BIG UPS to:

- The older hippie dude on the floor tokin' it up graciously passing his joint to the right hand side (although I declined, still thought it was nice of him to share)

- The lovely lady who gave us a flyer for the "Big Booty Bash" at Showgirls.

last nights show was awesome. fortunately i had the privilege of seeing them 3 times before this. the oakland show was great and im glad they fixed one of the swaying backlights that was shitting bricks and flashing all different colors during the set. my ocd for stuff like that drives me crazy haha. other than that, i thought the show was amazing as ever, at least from what i saw. sadly i was working the show last night and had a few medical calls during, of course, my favorite songs. i swear terrible lie is jinxed. both times its played ive had patients to attend to. FAIL. oh well, thats what im there for. im excited to see what trent is dreaming up for his next tour, and happy that there is going to be a next tour.

12/13/08 10:49 AM

(Apologies in advance for a massively long post)

I have to say, the show was amazing. What made it even more amazing was that I thought I wasn't going to be there.

Basically, I saw the Oakland show, and I did mention this one to my parents and briefly played with the idea of finding a way to get there myself. But I'd come to the conclusion that I wouldn't be going.

So, I was incredibly surprised when my mom woke me up at five (Friday afternoons are my sleep day. I get out of school early), and said she wanted to talk to be about something. At first I was worried I was in trouble or something, because that's what my parents always do when they're mad at me, but then she said, "I want to see what the big deal is about this Trent guy. Why don't you get ready to go, and we'll drive to Sacramento after dinner and see if we can get some scalper tickets."

For a minute I didn't actually believe her, but then I realized she was serious.

But the story's not over yet! We hit traffic on the way over, and got to the arena late. I started to talk myself down, just to make it easier if it didn't work out. So, by the time we got there, I'd convinced myself it wouldn't work out. But thank god there were still tickets available, and we got in literally seconds before they started playing.

The show was incredible. I did see the one in Oakland, but I was in general admission that time, so I couldn't fully appreciate the light show. I think my mom had fun too. I am insanely fortunate to have a mom who will do this sort of thing for me. I am so glad I was able to see this show. It's probably the best early Christmas present I could have gotten, and one of the best things anybodies ever done for me.

On a more humorous note: everything was great except for the spectacularly wasted girl next to my mom, who was generally obnoxious during the entire show. We kept waiting for her to smoke enough that she'd fall asleep, but it didn't happen. There were a few time I kinda wanted to punch her. Still fun though.

Thanks Trent and the rest of the crew for an outstanding show. Saw you in LA and had to get tickets for this show. I think your stage set up is awesome! Can't wait to see you again.

12/13/08 11:41 AM

it was my third show. caught two shows from the with teeth tour. sac and sf. back to sac for lights in the sky. it was my girls first nin concert. she was blown away. for me, impressed as always. nine inch nails is raw as fuckkkkk. i will always love this band. so much that ill be late on some bills this month. but it was fucking worth it. i wonder what the future holds for trent and nine inch nails. as for us fans we've been quite spoiled with all the activity the past few years. i hope he keeps it up. i love his music. i respect the direction he takes and the hard work he puts into everything he does.

p's to the fellow nin collective.

btw.. i tagged my photos from the concert in my flickr.. i hope it works??

and to the guy who recorded the whole show.. any chances youll be hooking ppl up w the footage??

12/13/08 12:11 PM

Last night was amazing!
A big thank you to Trent, the band, and everyone involved in the magic.
