I had such a blast at this show! Thank you Trent and company. The crowd was intense also, sometimes noisy or chatty but full of energy for sure. A huge thanks to Mark, if it wasn't for his generosity I wouldn't have made it to this show. I'll be forever in your debt Sir. It reminds that there are decent people out there and they happen to be NIN fans also. smiling smiley Thank you to everyone else who hit me up about a ticket. I'm glad I made it to this show instead of the Vegas one, there I would have been in seats which is ok but most of all I wouldn't give up The Frail/The Wretched being played instead of The Frail/Closer. Haha :p But really it was a good time, I loved every moment and I danced my ass off. Hopefully I'll see NIN again in whatever form they exist and if not I will die happy with the experiences I already have. Again thank you Trent, Robin, Justin, Alessandro and Josh for being who you are and doing what you do. Good luck to all of you. Next stop, the Vandals in the city. owww!!!

This was amazing! Not my first concert, but the best one I've been to, by far. My first NIN concert. I knew the lights in NIN's shows were supposed to be amazing, but I had to experience them to get the full grasp. I was in row U, seat 10: the chick screaming along with the lyrics and flailing around like a total moron xDDD
My guy friend actually cried from everyone rocking out and stuff. I almost cried myself, especially on the last two songs. And just the way he ended it with "thank you"... I dunno. It seemed... right. Brilliant. Just... right where it belonged. xD
I almost wish I'd been on the floor though, I bet the visuals would have looked even better from there.

The concert gave me loads of more respect for Trent and for NIN. I'm just a tad obsessed now >_>;
and... I joined this site.
Oh, and my friend, who is IN LOVE with Trent couldn't come, so we shouted out CASSIE LOVES YOU TRENT!! in honor of her. xD
if anyone heard that... yeah.
And if anyone else heard "I LOVE YOU" "TRENT YOU'RE SEXY" "TRENT REZNOR'S SEXY" etc... yup. That would be me. Hyper + Rock + Fangirling = acting like a total idiot.

I didn't like The Bug, though. I just... don't think they were talented at all. Sorry if anyone enjoyed them. :\

I am definitely, without a doubt, going to another NIN concert someday. That was too fantastic... I think I'm a NIN concert addict now. xD I need to go to another one! X__x

What a great show! I think that was the 5th time I have seen the band. I saw the Oakland show as well. I had box seats for this one, so I enjoyed it more than Oakland.

I was with several people who had never seen NIN(including my 60+ year old mom) and they were all blown away. My mom gave it a 10 out of 10. Some favorites of the inexpereinced fans were: Discipline, The Frail/Wretched, Closer, Only, and the Ghosts songs. The mark of a truly great band is when you can blow away people who aren't big fans, or aren't fans at all.

Set list that was posted looks about right. I took 2GB of video with my camera. It turned out REALLY well, but I only got the first 17 minutes of the concert. I am having issues getting the file off my camera(throwing errors when I copy). I am pissed. If I can get this fixed, I'll have some killer video to post. It turned out well taking it from the sky box. The sound and video are pretty damn good due to not being in the crowd.

Amazing show, better than Oaklanad for me too, it was quite nice to have the arena sized down too, it became such a small venue, cant complain with that!
So glad we got the wretched plus an extra long setlist too, we only missed reptile!

Many people filming the whole thing, I was standing next to a guy on the floor, he had a pass of some sort and shot non-stop, he did not seems to be bothered by some of the dumb people chatting next to us (and that could be because it would get mixed in with better audio later), I have a feeling we'll get a DVD after all, maybe Trent will put up something together, sort of unofficial self release direct from him???

12/15/08 12:31 PM

Besides the drunken asses in the box directly behind section 102 speaking incredibly loud during the Ghosts portion, it was a good show.

It was more intimate than Oakland, but I had a way better time at Oakland because the people around me were actually there for the music and dicks to the nth degree.

This was my 5th NIN show, and by far the greatest... Well, maybe not the greatest. I'd say it's tied with my personal #1 along with the Mountain View show in '06.
I had a blast, the set list didn't disappoint. And I can't wait to see Trent in the future.
I don't care if he just goes on tour with himself, a computer, and a few strobe lights.
I'd still pay $50+ to see him live.

I do hope he eventually pieces footage together to release a DVD/BD version of the "Lights In The Sky" tour, though.

03/25/05 - UC Davis Freeborn Hall - Davis, CA
11/19/05 - Oracle Arena - Oakland, CA
07/08/06 - Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View, CA
09/05/08 - Oracle Arena - Oakland, CA
12/12/08 - Arco Arena - Sacramento, CA
And hopefully many more to come...

Wasn't it ridiculous!? Thank god we had great people in line to spend the whole day with while freezing our asses off! Pizza!!!! Chicken fingers and cookies galore! And yes, I wish we HAD made that trip to Walmart to get some sheets! Next time...winking smiley

But the show did make up for all the waiting!

We were half way between Robin and TR. Great energy and I KNOW alot of you got great footage!! I wish I had not forgotten my camera back in L.A.!

I have to say I liked the show better than the Vegas one the next night. Maybe it was because I was on rail, but I thought the energy of the band and the crowd were just in synch!

And THANK YOU to the NIN Security and the Arco security. I swear like 60 crowd surfers came over my head. Did anyone else see the one guy who got pulled out like three times? Yes, I am SO THRILLED he came back to surf for that third time, because he CLOCKED me right in the back of my head! But whatever, no harm done, and it was worth it to be on rail for what, the last time??!! BUT WAIT, what was it he said in Vegas???..."but you never know with me..." (in reference to touring past 2009).

JessicaSarahS, primary1 and Rienforme...I miss you guys already! I am glad we were able to go on rail all together this time!

The only thing bad here, was the COLD(and COMPLETELY lost security personnel-but that's another story)!
The show was AWESOME. Per usual. And I agree with you Kali - this was better than the Vegas show the night after.....everything seemed perfect(except waiting in the cold until 7:30-but that's also another story). And the audience was great too....I really enjoyed meeting people in the line. Cstules--nice to meet you! and everyone else....it really made waiting in line 12 hours much nicer!

This was simply a great show--great energy, great performance - simply outstanding. It breaks my heart that not many people caught this tour. If only people knew what they were missing ....

AND I want to shout out to my peeps 1Kali3, JessicaSarahS and Primary1!! I just love you guys...I had so much fun with you here and in Vegas! Thank you!

And thank you, Trent...for the music, the wonderful shows and for giving me a reason to meet these FABULOUS women!
I can't wait to do it again next year!

I loved this show so much!! I'm so glad I was able to make it, after I was so bummed I couldn't make it to the Oakland show. It had slight resemblances to the show they put on during the With Teeth tour, but I enjoyed the effects at this show more. I really hope they set a date in Sacramento again in 2009 before they "retire" for a while from touring. It was only the 2nd time I have seen them but I will gladly pay to see them anytime they tour in this area.

I will admit, I was a little worried about what kind of effort they would put in after hearing about that comment from Trent about how lame Sacramento was in 2005 and how he didnt want to play there again. I wasnt a part of that crowd, that was when I was living in the Bay Area and went to the Mountain View show, but now that I live in Roseville I really want Trent to want to play Sac more often. I was not dissappointed in their performance at all, they did put a lot of effort into it.

I wish I could have gone to the Vegas show the day after, the last show of the tour is almost always the best show, as was the case on July 8th 2005 in Mountain View.

Best part: Being on the SAME Southwest Airlines flight from Sacramento to Las Vegas with Trent and getting pics with him after landing.

My friends met him too! We actually were on a different flight that landed at the same time. But we were in baggage claim and they ran into him.

However, I must say that while he flew Southwest and had to pay like what?? $4.00 for his Coke Zero (or maybe they are free these days) I was (thx to Rienforme) flying First Class on US Airways! Life is good!

I have to say, I just watched some of the youtube videos everyone uploaded...and they are GREAT! I do think I liked this show better than Inglewood and Oakland. BUT...not better than Toledo...primary1 back me up here!

Yeah, I heard them! So disrespectful, I thought. The Ghosts are supposed to be deep and intimate, requiring thought. I don't fucking care what the drunken asses have to say.

Btw my uncle was a parental supervisor for my guy friend and I, and he was leading drunk people to the bathroom xDD

The concert really touched me, because I wasn't a huge fan of NIN. Now I can't stop listening! It really made me realize how amazing NIN and Trent is. smiling smiley

I know I'm "breaking the rules" by posting here the finger smiley, but I DID have 3 GA's that went unused due to "multiple travel difficulties angry smiley" (ie-plane delays on both legs of the incoming trip causing us to get into SFO at 8:45 instead of 4:45 [which made poor sagpig sit at SFO for 8 hrs getting hammered waiting for us to get there]) - - anyway, my son, daughter and sister DID get there, and were completely "blown away" by the show - - guess I shoulda known better than to expect things to go smoothly on a "full moon night" sad smiley

thanx for the input on this show - - wish we coulda made it - - but am so glad the rest of you were there "in spirit" for us - - at least we DID make it to Vegas for Sat - - the ONLY plane connection (SFO -> LAS) that actually went as planned - - and we truly missed seeing the NINer's we were looking forward to meeting - - maybe next time 'round

First off, best concert I've ever seen. EVER. Never seen a NIN concert, will now buy a ticket every time I'm within 500 miles of their live show.

Second, my apologies to everyone to the left of the mosh pit. I can only imagine what my tall, fat ass looks like with my left arm immobilized by a tetanus shot the day before while rocking out to the best show ever -- I mentioned that part, right?

Third, The Bug. Kickass. Never seen good dub music performed live before Friday.

Fourth, my voice is still broken. I'm having to take sick days because my throat hurts too much. (Also kickass.)

Definitely a great show, though I was surrounded by people who sat around like zombies through the entire thing. I don't get that. Was also sorry Trent's voice started to go at the end, but it was still worth the nearly 2 hour drive.

12/16/08 11:26 PM

That was the most amazing show I've ever seen! The Fragile tour was great, but then the With Teeth tour blew it away. I really doubted Trent could top the With Teeth show, but this went way beyond my wildest hopes.

That was truly a work of genius. The music was spectacular, and the visuals were unbelievable! I've run out of superlatives, and I still did not do justice to the experience...

You've got a better memory than I do, but wasn't "Last" in there, too?

Absolutely brilliant show! I had previously been to the LA show, but this one sounded way better. I have seen some many other big production shows this year (from Metallica to Coldplay) but NIN just takes it to another level.

Below is a set list from memory (could be a little inaccurate):

999,999
1,000,000
Letting You
Discipline
March of the Pigs
Head Down
The Frail
The Wretched
Closer
Gave Up

The Warning
Vessel

21 Ghosts III
28 Ghosts III
19 Ghosts III
Piggy
The Greater Good

Pinion/Wish
Terrible Lie
Survivalism
The Big Come Down
31 Ghosts IV
Only
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like a Hole

Encore:
Echoplex
The Good Soldier
Speech/Introductions
God Given
Hurt
In This Twilight/Zero-Sum piano outro

The upper sections of the arena were closed, but the lower sections were packed with people! I was very surprised to see such a large turnout for the Sacramento show.

Trent thanked the crowd and said that this was a bitter sweet moment for the band because some massive line up changes are coming. He also confirmed that this will the second last show with this stage production. Well deserved break coming for Trent after the down under shows!

I don't know why, but something tells me that the next time NIN tours, Trent will somehow top this... despite what he said in his previous posts!

Tons of guys in the crowd with SLR's so please post your pics. I will post mine soon (point and shoot pics).

Gluck to the bootleggers in Vegas, please share your results with the rest of us!

Nope. If Last was in there people would have been freaking out.

Jess, great photos cool smiley

I thought the crowd was lacking energy except really for the very front and the mini pit, and I was definitely worried about this considering the last sac show (although I wasn't there, I remember reading Trent's comment). I already thought the Oakland show had a less involved crowd than back in '05, but the crowd in Sac seemed to be standing around even more. Overall though the crowd was appreciative and I think at least this came across.

Now that someone mentioned it I do remember thinking that Trent's voice wasn't sounding as fresh, but all the songs still sounded great. JMJ seemed more involved for sure. O and Josh at the end of Piggy was pretty awesome.

Was with some first timers, and thus I hung out a little farther back than usual, but they really enjoyed themselves and said it was far beyond their expectations.
