whoa. It's over 24 hours later and I'm still in a euphoric state from last night. The energy of the show was the best I've ever seen. Crazy. Thanks so much.

The show was awesome! I should not have waited so long to see Trent and Co. since the last time which was 1994 during the Downward Spiral tour. I am hoping to see the show in Sacramento in December.

I too bought a shirt and was quite surprised at how much it shrank. I even bought an Xtra Large!!

Visuals were so awesome. Just when I thought they couldn't get any cooler, they did. The girl who was on the top left screen during survivalism was a trip to watch. She kept doing jazz hands. LOL

That's not her. Lol. I know the one you guys are talking about. She smiled alot too, right? Left side of the screen, with a picture of a mixer on her tee-shirt? That's Sophia. She does have glasses though. And she's the bomb winking smiley

P.S. Hi Sophia!!!

Cool show but again, it didn't even compare to the southern california show.

Did anyone else do the 1,000+ mile drive from southern california?

Anyone else see the computer mouse on the top of the screen for a about an eight of a second??

Does anyone have any pictures of the Survivalism screens? My camera was craptastic so I didn't even attempt it. My husband was on the center screen. Thanks in advance!

Did Trent say "How did I slip into this?" during "999,999"?

09/07/08 12:45 PM

I'd say The Big Come Down was the best.
But the whole show seems like a dream to me now. It's hard for me to believe that Trent Reznor was just a couple meters away from me in that long sleeved bright red shirt of his.

Haven't you guys at least seen AATCHB?

this was my last show on this leg and i had a lot of fun running around different parts of the floor taking video. quite a change from being squished on the rail in slc and frozen (yet a perfect view) at red rocks. i was sad that this set was shorter than those we had at red rocks & slc, but i finally got to see big comedown and that made me super happy.

i too had an issue with my merch. i purchased a ghosts tshirt (girl shirt w/birds) and exchanged it immediately because there was stitching/thread clump visible on the side that i was afraid would come apart. the merch lady put it right back in the box to resell - nice. i exchanged for another shirt with less stitching exposed and felt OK about it until i pulled it from the dryer the next day and found stitching coming out at the collar. i'll repair it, but feel quite dismayed seeing as the dang thing cost $45. what is up with the tshirt manufacturers and their quality control? i'm much happier with the quality of my "art is resistance" shirt purchased at red rocks. we want girl hoodies! the track jacket and hoody were super attractive, but huge.

two videos ready now, more to come next weekend:

The Warning
1,000,000

definitely an amazing show. i was there w/my friend - we go to all of them together. i was amazed how close we got, 2nd back from the railing on the left side facing the stage. of course i had wanted to meet up with some people from here but it just never works out right - it's all the timing.

What can I say, I found her highly distracting. I'm glad she was having a good time, but I got really sick of watching her pose in front of the 'mirror' like a kid in junior high about to go troll the mall with her buddies.

Are you saying that the show last night was better than Oaklands???? Only thing I liked better was they played Reptile. Robins guitar didn't even work through the first 3 or 4 songs?? Until the sound guys came and fixed it. Didn't you see him smash it on the ground all pist and walk away? ( Plus there was no earthquake as they came onto stage. ) tongue sticking out smiley

Yes, yes, and YES. Stupid a$$hole f*ckers! I was front and center on the middle on the barricade...I almost wonder if you were the guy with the reddish hair standing behind my girfriend who was to my right. Even if you weren't, there was a guy standing there who totally gave me a "this is f*cking ridiculous" look a couple times. And I gotta admit, people need to learn how to chill the hell out in the pit. I'm 5'4" and I'm not skinny or anything like that but I was having a VERY hard time breathing after a while and had to get pulled out. The guy right behind me was pretty tall and it seemed like the more I kept pushing back off of the barricade to get a pocket of air, the more the guys behind me kept pushing me forward. Screw that!

And the guy behind me kept his arms over my shoulders and totally had his hands in front of my face. WTF. So yeah, after a little over half the setlist, Kate and I asked to get pulled out.

Aaaaanyways. I thought the show was FABULOUS. Trent sang Closer to both me and Kate and it totally made her night. Well, actually he sang alot of things while staring us down, but Kate really loved his intensity singing "f*ck you like an animal" the best. Hahaha! So yeah...I'm not easily going to be forgetting about that any time soon. The lights were fanTASTIC, but a bit hard to take in all at once up at the front. I was pretty excited to get some good pictures from the back of the pit, which I'll post up here when I get the chance.

It was an amazing experience all around at any rate.

And I got to touch Robin Finck! grinning smiley

Edit: One last other note. If you attended the show and would like me to interview you, I am writing an article for a newspaper at my university (Humboldt State Uni) and I know there were people in attendence who were Humboldt locals, so if you guys are reading this, don't be shy...send me a PM or myspace. www.myspace.com/nymeses Even if you aren't from the humboldt area, just hit me up anyways. You get the added bonus of seeing your name in print (lulz).

I decided not to do the pit.

I wanted to see the light show.

I was not disappointed. It was beautiful. Totally amazing work.

The energy was more relaxed since Seattle. The guys seem to be more in sync.

What I originally should've said was that I think it'd be more appropriate to keep personal opinions and judgements such as this to yourself instead of broadcasting it for the entire board to read. It could result in making someone who as a fan enjoying her experience feel negativity directed towards her for simply enjoying herself "in the moment", which is just kind of, well, lame. Generic terms are understandable & acceptable - "There were some stupid hairy apes that kept flailing around & distracting me like total jerk-offs. I found it irritating as all hell." - but singling a specific person out & remarking about them in a negative light - in public - could be construed as a tad arrogant if read on the surface.

09/07/08 11:07 PM

Looking back on it now I think I really liked the rain. The rain keeps sticking out in my mind.

The lights were so impressive it made me think twice about my unfortunate decision to not try and hit the Sacto & Vegas shows. It costs money to go & to pay someone to work my store but damn.... it's pretty tempting with such an awe-inspiring show, lights & sound both.

She singled herself out by openly stating not only who she was but what she was doing. I'm sure that if one of the frat guys came on and said "Dude, I was like totally the guy who spilled my beer all over you! WOOOO!" some people would have something to say about it, and probably not something nice.

Anyway, I think I was rather civil with my comment. Honest, but civil. I'm sure she's a wonderful person; I was simply distracted by her behavior during those five minutes, and since it was the subject of the conversation at the time, I decided to voice my opinion.

Wow.

How about we just call it a draw and end this before we actually irritate or offend each other on a deeper than surface level... Not to mention anyone who's reading this thread....

The Flickr set is great, but the link is to a torrent site you need to register to use and there are 0 seeds for this torrent. I'd love to get a bunch of high res pics from the show, since all I had was my lame cell phone. If anyone has a cache of good/hi-res photos from the Oakland show, let me know--

All in all, it was a fantastic show. I was on the floor, somewhere on the right hand side, close to the front. Trent and co had a great stage presence, everything was put together so well and flowed... even the Ghosts tracks. The light show and "magic insanity curtain" as I have so dubbed it (yeah, I caught it back in '06 too) were just out of this world, the whole experience felt like some wonderful psychedelic space opera. The technology that goes into these shows... it amazes me.

And to you bastards smoking cigarettes on the floor, BAD FORM! I huffed and puffed my doobie in your general direction, but I could not quell the nasty cig smoke-- c'mon guys, never at an indoor concert, I don't care if the shrooms are kicking in, don't fucking smoke cigs.

I had a good time, it was spectacular to end the show with In This Twilight, just a really awe inspiring and touching moment for me. And hey chick who got on the video screen, you gave my friends and I a good laugh.
