Cars! (with Gary Numan)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

07/15/09 4:48 PM

Good gig. Yay for tinnitus.

07/15/09 4:54 PM

Brilliant show with many highlights. Gary Numan was a real surprise & Cars was superb. However, nothing could beat the wonder of us all singing Hurt with Trent. Surely he is not going to stop now? Wave goodbye, then say hello to misquote Soft Cell?!

07/15/09 5:07 PM

What did you guys make of the light show tonight?

07/15/09 5:08 PM

what an AMAZING setlist! Thank you!

07/15/09 5:25 PM

Holy. Fucking. Shit. That was AWESOME. Possibly the best setlist of the tour so far?

07/15/09 5:33 PM

Absolutly amazing.
NIN were brilliant.
Jane's Addiction was brilliant
Mew was brilliant

Loved every second of it. Thank you Trent!

07/15/09 5:45 PM

Easily the best NIN show i have ever been to (my 4th).
The setlist and the performance were perfect.

Would be keen to see the full setlist if anyone noted it down...

I was in the front row of the standing area with my brother. This was my first proper concert, ever. Just beautiful. I think the highlight for me was Reptile, so good to hear that live.

I thought Mew were pretty good but lacked stage presence.

I'm not particularly fond of Jane's music but the show they put on was outstanding.

07/15/09 5:45 PM

gutted that I missed the pre-show meet up (coz of work) and missing Mew & JA.

NIN was amazing. I sang my heart out during Gave Up & Survivalism.

NIN = Thanks again!

Honestly? It almost ruined what was otherwise an incredible gig for us. Way too much use of strobes resulted in massive headaches by about the sixth song. Real shame as the rest of the night was superb, fantastic setlist and I'm still buzzing about FINALLY getting to see NIN after years of sold out gigs.

QFT ^^^^^^

Hearing TR rapping to Down In It made my night....

Well I wanted two songs to be played that haven't featured so heavily in the setlist recently - Big Come Down and Reptile, I was ecstatic to get Reptile, and screamed like a girl when BCD was played as well.

Bizarrely, I spent 3 hours lying in the garden listening to Gary Numan albums for the first time ever on Sunday, so to say I was stunned when he came out tonight would be an understatement, and then to get Cars as well as Metal was a thing of beauty.

Trent and the band - you rocked it very hard tonight, we couldn't have asked for any more, and no complaints from me about the crowd (bearing in mind the 'Manchester seemed quiet' comments on the boards), it looked like a party from where I was stood! Thank you - I look forward to Knebworth in 17 days!

Janes - very enjoyable too - loved Perry flipping himself off the drum kit!

GARY
NUMAN.

ALSO, BEST SETLIST EVER.

I'd write more but I'm kinda euphoric still.

07/15/09 6:01 PM

Absolutly amazing, probably the best gig I have ever been too, and one of the Best NIN shows. An amazing setlist, great light show, intense crowd who were really into it (though at times it did get a bit much, but nothing that ruined it)

You could tell Trent was having a great time too and was really into it, especially during the fragile bridge/breakdown when he was smiling. I loved in terrible lie he did a Kurt Cobain-esque jump into the drums. But the whole band were on top form and sounded great (one thing I liked about the 02, great sound and acoustics).

I couldn't believe when Gary Numan came on stage and played Metal I was so happy and then when it finished there was a huge round of appulause then a little silence then Cars came on and the crowd went mental, I couldn't believe it.

Setlist: (only the first 5 and last 5 are in order)

Now I'm Nothing
Terrible Lie
1,000,000
Heresy
March Of the Pigs
The Becoming
Reptile
I'm Afraid Of American
Burn
Gave Up
La Mer
The Fragile
Non-Entity
Wish
Survivalism
Big Comedown
Down In It
Metal w/ Gary Numan
Cars w/ Gary Numan
Hand That Feeds
Head Like A Hole
Hurt

Think That is pretty Much it, may have missed a song or 2. While you may always bee dissapointed with some songs not being played I think It was a great setlist and the songs that were played made up for the ones that weren't

07/15/09 6:03 PM

The crowd were incredible. One of the best I've ever been in.

Three words to sum it up: Gary Fucking Numan

Now I'm Nothing/Terrible Lie
1,000,000
Heresy!!!!!
March Of The Pigs
Reptile
The Becoming
I'm Afraid Of Americans
Burn
Gave Up
La Mer
The Fragile
Non Entity
The Big Come Down
The Downward Spiral
Wish
Survivalism
Down In It!!!!!
Metal (w/ Gary Numan)
Cars (w/ Gary Numan)
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like A Hole

Hurt

I typed the setlist as I went along, so I'm pretty sure it's in the right order and everything.

Put simply, one of the best shows I have ever seen. A perfect way to say goodbye. I nearly had an 'emo' moment during Hurt. I think the combination of everyone singing along and knowing that this could well be the last NIN song I ever hear live in person almost got to me. For a band to make me nearly cry is some achievement.

Jane's Addiction were pretty solid. Mew were decent but the queues moved so slowly that we only saw the last three songs.

that was incredible. I was the guy on the barrier with the red what.cd t shirt and the curly hair smiling smiley

who was the red haired bird that came down infront of the stage for the numan songs? I shook her hand as I swore I recognized her, just trying to put a name to a face..

07/15/09 6:12 PM

Looks like you guys got the better set list by miles! Last night was great but I did want to hear 1,000,000 and you got Reptile and Gary Numan too!

I was so close to going but I was completely drained today! Can anyone who went to the Manchester say if the last show was any different to this one? Thanks

07/15/09 6:13 PM

Well that was pretty awesome.

Oh look, I took some pictures tongue sticking out smiley

Oh yeah, Rob filmed Heresy and the two Gary Numan songs, so the chances are you will see 'em.

07/15/09 6:20 PM

Awesome! Cheers for letting me know.

I hope you guys all enjoyed tonight's show. I'm still giddy after last night!

07/15/09 6:24 PM

That was rather enjoyable.
Personal highlight for me was Reptile. Love that song, and the lights complimented it perfectly. smiling smiley

07/15/09 6:27 PM

Gary Numan was fantastic. I'd never thought I'd see him on stage with NIN let alone hear "metal" live.
A good show by NIN but the O2 is far to big and not at all intimate which kind of made the songs a bit impersonal.
I would of prefered NIN doing 4 or 5 nights at Brixton rather than the O2.
Unfortunately I had a seat way up in the heavens and didn't get the same enjoyment as previous NIN gigs which was a big shame.

07/15/09 6:32 PM

Quite possibly the best gig i have ever been to, I was second row for Mew and Janes and the beginning of NIN but moved back abit then because some guy with big hair ment i couldn't see anything.
Anyone else think the crowd got quite 'violent'? Some guy got pushed to the crowd whilst another punched him in the face a fair few times, thankfully they both got taken out by security though.
