Yeah, I gotta disagree - TR seemd in a great mood - and I'd seen a few of the recent gigs in the US. He was just as happy, if not happier. And the crowd - People were just as into it/knew the words in Greece as they do in America. People were really into into it. Sorry you had trouble . I was in Greece for a week and I never had a problem, people were wonderful. I love Greece, I love the people and I would live there (at least part of the year) if I could. I even know the exact place I would buy in Delphi...
TR seemed really to like the crowd, he thanked everyone several times.
Anyways, I'll post photos somewhere when I can. I'm afraid to upload for another week, 'cuz I was to see if I can help people get tickets to shows... as soon as they're up I'll let everyoen know. I got a few decent ones.
Savagestar - I am going to upload only 1 photo before the 31st, I think you know the one. I"ll e-mail it to you as soon as I do.
Riot, I was standing against the grating to the left of the stage and everyone by me was blank faced and quiet. No one was singing along around us aside from my wife and I. Maybe the rest of the venue was different but when I looked back it seemed like everyone was sitting on their hands in the seating area. That was my experience. Maybe it was different in the rest of the venue, but I didn't walk around much because I didn't want to risk losing my spot.
Hey Georgi, thanks for attacking me online. You are quite the tough guy. If you read my post you would see that I was quoting what a Greek person said to me. Everyone at the concert was great. My only problem was with cab drivers after the concert. Take a pill.
Well, being a greek person and having been to a lot of gigs both here and abroad, I must say I do agree with severian1 about the audience response. I don't know if it was the "language barrier", most people seemed to know the words pretty well so I don't think it was, but the audience was certainly loose and less responsive that one would expect. They weren't completely unresponsive, they sang along at times and clapped at others, and a small group in the pit was really into it, but I've seen more firepower in Placebo gigs here, and if that's not a damn shame then I don't know what is...
I was in the rail at the front left, and at times I was the only person raising my hand, singing along or jumping up and down, least from what I could see (I had my eyes on the stage most of the time). Though when I looked behind/around me people didn't seem to do anything special, other than standing and listening. At times it irritated me a little. For a NIN gig in Greece I expected all hell breaking loose, and that's certainly not what happened. I haven't had the chance to see NIN anywhere else before, but Trent didn't seem all that happy to me.
As for cab drivers, I think most Greeks agree they're the worst group of people in the country (apart from politicians), so no sweat there.
