They say they leave the best for the last.. I don't know if it really was the best but it was close.. I saw the band 4 times, the most I could do.. Now I feel satisfied.. But I'll miss you anyway. Beyond Nine Inch Nails there's a dark dark night.. Thank you

Wave Goodbye huh?

Well wave all you want. A NIN performance is always remembered, never better than the last one or the next.... each performance we go to is meant for us and for us only....to never forget.
I remember my first and if this is to be my last concert..... It gives me more reason not to say or wave goodbye to NIN.

great show, as always. been my third gig after amsterdam and london... didn't think it could be as good as the previous shows i attended, but was almost better instead.

the whole perfomance was really tight... a perfect way to say goodbye smiling smiley

p.s. setlist anyone? they started with somewhat damaged, terrible lie, march of the pigs... then i can't remember the right order and all the other songs... heresy, something i can never have, the downward spiral, gone still, la mer, i'm afraid of americans, the good soldier, suck, the becoming, the day the world went away, the hand that feeds, head like a hole, hurt... i think i'm still missing one or two...

07/23/09 7:54 AM

yeah, rumors wanted ZU (an Italian very alternative-sperimental band) to be at the show..but rumors were and rumors remained

Yeah it was an awesome show - I'll post my pics once I get back to finland and give them a quick touch up - the camera i bring with me to gig is horrible.

07/24/09 4:32 AM

I've seen 8 shows and this was one of the best. The line-up is really great. I had the chance to listen to songs never heard before.

SICNH was a truly moment of universal and collective love. People was in silence, weird and amazing at the same time.

TLBTB was blowin' us away!

Glad I attended the show, despite planes, trains, automobiles, terrible hotel beds and the overwhelming heat. Awesome band, awesome show! I'm fucking 45 and I should feel a little bit embarrassed wearing a NIN t shirt at my age, lol. Guess what, I'm not winking smiley

it's been my first (and probably the last, sigh) nin show so I cannot compare it with other nin shows, but I perceived some kind of tiredness and bore of the band members... maybe it's just an impression, maybe not, but the show was great anyway: perfect performance and, most of all, a great chance to listen to nin music at the top of its power (even a not-so-great song as survivalism became astonishing).
I will not bore you with my 20 year old fan heart troubles (ops, this does not mean I'm 20... just buying their records since '89)... I'm here just to post a link to some pictures that me and "the chalazion conspiracy" shoot careless of the FOG technician attempts to boycott us (I suppose he is a john carpenter fan) and the massive bass frequencies coming from amps placed right in front of all the first row that kept our poor equipment and cardiorespiratory system next to tunf tunf collapse all the time.

according to a review the NIN performance got almost cancelled because of problems with the power supply. seems they had to turn off part of the lighting system in order to keep the audio working. that was supposedly the reason for the performance starting after 10 pm. tiredness and bore in 30 degrees celsius? no wonder, I was tired too after my plane flight and after wandering afoot through the center of Rome with a rucksack on my back winking smiley
heres's the review (in italian)

I was tired too, travelled and moved all day. but I was enthusiastic, not bored. they did not. anyway, I was just expressing an impression and not criticising, I can understand both tiredness and bore at the end of a long tour.

07/26/09 2:25 AM

have seen NIN last year in Bologna, part of the Milano show and of course all the vids that are out there...but sorry I have to disagree - bored and tired? no way. He's not as aggressive as he used to be in the past, but I'm rather happy about that, less (self)desctruction is not a bad thing, I guess.

As for the power shortage, I thought they would be way, way, way more pissed about it, instead they took it pretty well, have seen man bands perform live and freaking out and getting pissed for way less.

IMHO it was just one hell of a show, excellent performance. :-)
