Fucking ROCKED!

Indeed!

07/24/09 6:30 PM

OH... MY.... GAAAAAWD!!!
It was soooo amazing!!! They played from almost every album, and not the soft ones, but all the screaming and jumping to the ceiling songs!!! Well I don't know the setlist in order and there were other people there as well, so hopefully you'll get that so loved setlist grinning smiley
They started with Pinion/Wish combo!! I was like... "like... NOW? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
nobody, I said NOBODY screamed during Hurt, we were singing along and listening. Sometimes I'm so proud of my country <3

First of all I would like to thank:

As I had pre-sale tickets, I would like thank JD/JT (I couldn't understand the French girls properly, sorry) for organizing everything for us to get in line earlier. He is a supercool guy!!! Really!

then I would like to thank the security guards! it was a really hot day in Budapest and those guys kept giving us water all the time!! without them I would have probably fainted.

and I would like to thank the French and the Romanian girls (I'm so sorry girls, I was in the venue and after that I couldn't find you at all. I'm so sorry sad smiley ) you girls kicked some serious asses!! Oh and perchee <3

oh and back to the music/gig part. The band was in a really good form!! I got first row between Trent and Robin!! BEST FUCKING PLACE EVER!!!!

Trent even mentioned how he still loves this city and he talked about George Bush and how such a big asshole he was. and even apologized for having such a bad president and that guy ruined our country a bit as well. He couldn't stop saying "Thank you" We were dancing, singing along and sometimes we just didn't let them start a new song!!

oh yes, these were my first thoughts smiling smiley

thank you Budapest, and thanks to everyone that I met there, especially nine_inch_nerd.

Budapest was awesome. Going in with the presale ticket was brilliant as it was almost empty when I first made my way in. I was hoping that I'd get to see the Pinion -> Wish opener and it was every bit as good in real life as it was in my head, and then going in to Last was the highlight of the evening. From memory (and possibly not that great of a memory) the set was

Pinion
Wish
Last
Discipline
March of the Pigs
Piggy
Reptile (awesome, especially with the lighting)
Burn
Gave Up
La Mer
Something I Can Never Have
The Downward Spiral
Mr. Self Destruct
Non-Entity
Survivalism
Echoplex
1,000,000
Dead Souls
The Hand That Feeds (complete with speech beforehand where Trent said that it was from Year Zero)
Head Like A Hole
Hurt

I'm pretty certain these were most of the tracks played, though the order's only rough between Reptile and The Hand That Feeds and there may have been one that I missed. It was my first proper NIN show and they didn't disappoint in the slightest, can't wait for Nîmes and Madrid.

07/25/09 2:22 AM

It was f*cking awesome!!!

07/25/09 3:21 AM

first of all thanks NIN for the great show!! amazing!

and a big thanks to the crowd - wooooww...the best crowd on a NIN concert i ever seen!! thanks budapest :-) they know how to party ;-)

it was the last concert on this tour for me - so it´s really cool that it was so fuckin´awesome!!!!!

and of course thanks to the technical guy which gave me 3 plectrums :-)

they played The good soldier too, after Survivalism, and in between Trent introduced the band (btw, does he do this often?)
peace

07/25/09 5:00 AM

The highlight of the night was Burn. I love that song so much!!!!

When they started the show I was over the moon, couldn't even notice Rob was in front of me with his iPhone. and he filmed the crowd, too. lol

07/25/09 8:26 AM

oh man.... smiling smiley

La Mer/Something I Can Never Have/Non-Entity/Gone,still/The Downward Spiral/Mr. Self Destruct

i think it was one of the greatest musical experiences in my 26 years of life...
thank you NIN!

i think they played gone,still before non-entity...
but pls correct me

well, i must tell you that i've never listened to NIN on mushroom, (NIN-fan since 12 years) but yesterday it happened @ last. a very very low dosage, kicked in when they started Piggy....fortunately, i can not describe the feeling smiling smiley))

So finally I got home from Budapest. NIN were so cool, they seemed they were enjoying themselves, Trent was having fun which was nice to see smiling smileyHe was talking a lot compering to other gigs Ive seen grinning smiley Crowd was unbelievable, I ve seen NIN 4 times and this was the best one. The setlist was brilliant, when Trent started to sing Something I can Never Have I started to cry, and when I heard Non Entity and Mr. Selfdestruct I was like omg... smiling smiley This was my last gig for this year tour (hopefully not last for ever)and Im glad it was so ass kicking grinning smiley Thank you NIN and Budapest fans, and the security guys as well smiling smiley

07/25/09 12:41 PM

Finally, I also got home. I'm still exhausted, but a NIN show really worth everything.
I managed to get to the first line, so I could see everything closely, even the sweatdrops dripping form Trent's elbow. grinning smiley I made notes to my phone during the concert to have the setlist but this link is also great Setlist Thanks spinakker14.
The set was outstanding, kicking and gentle songs just in the right ratio. I missed some songs (like Sin, We're In This Together, Closer) but I was glad to hear so many songs form The Downward Spiral and Broken.
I've made a lot of gorgeous photos, they are soon going to be posted on my profile.

I am happy because I was there, but I feel a bit hollow now. The last tour... It's like losing something very important.

(By the way... After the show I went to the "official afterparty"... It was ridiculous... Very few people, bad music (only one or two NIN songs), no party. Those who didn't go there did not miss anything.)

Anyway, thank you everyone. Thank you so much!

It was fucking great! Words can't describe what I felt yesterday.

The best gig of my life - thanks to everyone for this incredible experience:
the whole band, the crowd and especially to Trent!

The sad truth is that this was the last one for me... but what a fucking great last one!

07/25/09 3:30 PM

This was also the last one for me. But what a show. I concur that the crowd was really great. And Trent had so much energy too. And was quite talkative.

For who asked about him introducing the band, well he did it at all the shows Ive seen on this tour. But I cant remember him doing that in previous tours.

07/25/09 6:35 PM

Awesome concert!! I like it! Thank you Nine Inch Nails!!

Back from a 3 day Budapest trip (together with my son). <right now I'm at work again>
It was great: beautiful city, very nice people, and very hot (>33°C). Fortunately the hotelroom got airco.
The concert was great, but not the best I've seen (for me Amsterdam was the best).
This one was special for me, because I stood on the front between Trent and Robin. And because ít was my last one (of seven). Excellent to end it in this city.

We had a great time and it was awesome to meet Laci, CFI and Ishtmail (with his wife and friends). People, I won't forget this...........I'm happy to know you all!
And of course greetings to the people from Hungary, Romania, Switzerland and France at the queue.

This show was so awesome that i wasn't bothered by certain elements that would some consider as "lame" or "not pulled out well". One of these things, for example, being Alec Empire as DJ set rather than what most of us expected - the band. And yet, i think his act was FUCKING MENTAL! Too short but mental.
Another of "possibly lame" elements was NIN being out of tune at times. You know what, i didn't care. As a few drunk people behind has been singing out of tune and tempo the whole time, it didn't make much difference.
The setlist was fantastic, kinda expected but still managed to surprise me at times. Like, i'm not a huge fan of either Reptile or SICNH and yet the latter was pulled out better than expected.

Also, was i the only one laughing at Brett 'rolling on the floor probably laughing or whatever' before the show? And the amount of people taking pics of Rob Sheridan while he took pics of the band.

Thank you everyone for your patience and company. It was good to see you in real-life form. That goes to irenne and her friend who's name i didn't catch (sorry :/), the Croatian dude we met before the show (red_erik, yes?), default_ti, Sunyellow (who appears to be quite a naughty girl >:] ) and her men from Koroška - proving how randomly bumping into people can be one way to kill waiting time, uptothesky and her ladyfriends <3, last but not least: ishtmail+carramel+tanja+tinkerbell+acerchiata+ana.
There were also some people i wanted to take pics of because they looked great (Okkido being one of them) but gave up on that thought as it would seem too weird.
I did manage to use my camera at not-too-rocky songs since i had to hold to the rail tight in order not to get flushed away by the moshpit. The selection of good ones will be uploaded on Flickr probably sometime today.

Thanks to the whole NIN camp and Alec Empire for the event. It's been unforgeable in every single way.

Thanks a lot. smiling smiley My outfit got very contradictory feedback during that night, but I do not really care for those who did not like it. grinning smiley

Right now I am uploading my photos to Flickr, so you can have a look at them soon. There are quite many of them... To be specific 403 pieces of photo. Enjoy!

what a lucky bastard!!! smiling smiley
1500 km from where?

07/26/09 2:48 PM

This was my last NIN concert - I followed the band with my sister on all 3 of their Central European gigs: Austria, Prague and Budapest - unfortunately I cannot afford to travel further to see them, although I'd love to...

I was carried away by this show.

Alec Empire, who made me just nervous in Prague (except for his beautiful co-player), was simply amazing in Budapest. I'd go and see him solo, if he promises not to sing.

We secured ourselves our traditional place in the second row (lucky pre-salers) right under Robin and I probably had my best NIN concert experience ever. I thought the Bratislava concert 2 years ago was the best for me, because I really loved the sounds and lights the band made, but this was truly special.

I got only a bit surprised when tears ran down my face during Something I can never have - I'm going through some not so good times emotionally and this thing got me, especially since Trent gave so much to the song (he doesn't always, IMO).

Reptile - the best damn' version I've ever heard, that song was just incredible!

I love the band, Robin is obviously monstrously good, but I am really very pleased by the excellent young men behind the drums and on the bass. This is a drummer most bands can only dream of.

All in all a fantastic show, enjoyed every bit of it and naturally I'm sad there will be no more...

Unless I win the lottery, in which case the dream trip around the world will have to be built around the tour dates...

Agree with the person above describing the "after-party" - we spent an hour looking for the place not even the cabdrivers knew, then another hour sitting in that ugly bar waiting through the painful techno music (I thought I'm going to kill the DJ with my NIN-ticket) and then some NIN songs between Manson, Skinny Puppy and worse, with a few goths dancing. Horrible.

But it couldn't f*ck the perfect NIN concert experience up, so thank you once again guys, I'm waving good bye!
