HOW ARE PEOPLE ON THE APP BITHCING ABOUT THIS SHOW???

08/29/09 1:50 AM

just got home from the show. AMAZING. what a way to cap it all off. First time in the pit and it was a new experience that i didn't mind. Not much to say other then i had a great time and it was worth every god damned penny, not unlike the May show. i was slightly left of center stage about 60-65 feet back from the stage.. i might have been the tall dude blocking your view, if i did.. sorry! the pit was good in my area - no assholes- but i was surprised when it didnt pick back up again after the slower songs. Hope everyone had a great time. a big thanks to the band for helping end a great summer. smiling smiley

It was a great show! But seriously one of the least into it crowds ever. I can't believe how many people were talking during "lights in the sky". For being one of the last shows I expected a lot more from the audience. Trent and company brought it hard tonight playing the best I've heard them and the audience was just like 'meh'.

Show was awesome. My only complaint is that I'm short. Finally got to hear SICNH live, and it was beautiful. Can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us.

08/29/09 1:07 AM

people talking is always gonna be.. whaen i went back for my second night in NYC i kinda blocked that shit out... i was alone.. met some chill people drank.. blazed and really enjoed what i saw.. besides for some petty nonsense. there is no argument that thesee shows are unforgetable...

That was my first NIN concert and I well worth the plane ticket to fly in and see the show. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Something I Can Never Have and Dead Souls....those were two songs I really didn't expect to be performed live.

Since this was the first time seeing NIN in concert, I can definitely say the hype of the NIN concerts that my close friends have told me about for years is well founded. Again, Great Show!

08/29/09 1:38 AM

beautiful show...
relentless, this is how concerts should be

best show I have seen in a long time....

08/29/09 1:40 AM

Great show with a really great set list. I can't find it in the gallery though, am I missing it or is it not there? I need the code to tag my Flickr set.

08/29/09 1:41 AM

I found my way into the heart of the beast and came out a better man.

08/29/09 1:46 AM

Show was amazing; Crowd was meh. Singing along was great, but people could not stop talking. I'm a bit bummed that I had to leave early (missing the last 3 songs. sad smiley ) Still a great show, though.

08/29/09 1:53 AM

There were a lot of drunk assholes towards the front and to the right. Me and my gf had to step out and go back some. Other than that good show the crowd couldn't stop talking but they did sing along really well.

On my way out I noticed ALOT of people just stumbling al over the place. I left early, but how bad was trying to get out all at once? And if you thought talking was bad where you were, there were 3 teenagers that wouldn't SHUT THE FUCK UP. I was on the left side, next to the bar and the staircase up to the balcony.

Chicago crowds seem to have gone to shit in general. This show was great but no one would fucking move at all. Nothing but a bunch of sad-sacks and people who got mad when you accidentally bumped them. After a little moving around, I found a few people who seemed like they were there to actually have a good time. Whodathunkit?

08/29/09 2:06 AM

I was so very happy that I was able to see this show (Thanks to Rick who drove me there and back even though I was not on his way). It truly was a great end show for me.
I was stocked to hear atmosphere. Yeah, some of the crowd did not seem that into the show but there were plenty around me that were.

I wish I could have done both shows but my upcoming move needs all my extra cash. I'm so glad I was there tonight. smiling smiley

Well we had to move a couple of times because more drunks started to cut in front of everyone thinking they owned the place. We had a perfect view after we moved back, but they started to all come up. So we went everywhere including upstairs to get pics needless to say there were people there for NIN and people for it seemed like to get buzzed. I got out of the venue pretty easily and I was parked in the lot right next to the Aragon as well.

Peter Murphy was absolutely hypnotic. An experiance indeed. Exchanging cash for some of the moments of the performance that genuinely seemed quite personal seems so inadequate. So thank you for sharing.

08/29/09 2:20 AM

I got in with my friend perhaps halfway down the presale line, and ended up too packed in to move properly-- the crowd was less dancey by me than squashed. The show was still utterly brutal, though. JMJ seemed to be having an awesome time up there, and PM in the balcony was quite cute.

Very loud, too. I was wearing some earplugs recced by some members here in another thread, and it did wonders for the sound without losing clarity. Good to know I'll be able to hear for tomorrow night!

Where the fuck were you because I was towards the right, up front and everybody was fucking rocking out like this was the last show of the tour!

On a side note, more people liked The Horrors compared to Mew...but I thought Mew was pretty tight live. They sound amazing live and I'd probably go see them again, but I may have been biased going into this show.

Thank you Trent and NIN for another excellent performance. We are all grateful for this opportunity to bear witness to another masterpiece. I'm not going to waste my time complaining about the crowd, or nitpick any other aspect of the show. This was my tenth NIN show and I have never been disappointed. That says a lot about the work ethic of Trent and NIN. My overall level of life fulfillment has been greatly increased because of exposure to this band.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you...

I had tried all summer to get tickets to this show. I was especially exited that it was only a few days after my actual birthday, so it was going to be the gift and the party itself. but I was not able to get tickets.
Then today I was sitting around bawling cause I wouldn't get to go, and my friend gave me a pack of skittles as a substitute birthday cake, lit a candle, and sang me happy birthday but inserted the lyrics 'you're 26 years on your way to hell' cause im 26. I blew out the candle and wished, 'I wish I could see Trent tonight', then thought, idiot! you wasted your wish on something you can never have!
A minute later I checked Ticketmaster for the millionth time, truly expecting nothing, and I got the tickets! Blew my fucking mind.
I got those tickets with JUST ENOUGH time to drive from Madison to Chicago, we left right away and got to the Aragon at 7:00.
And Then Trent opened with Pinion and Wish! It was my birthday song, 26 years on my way to hell on my 26th birthday, and I blew out my candle and made a WISH. Which came true. It was WISHcraft. Happy Birthday to me!!!

Great way to cap off twenty years for me and loving NIN. Setlist was perfect, band sounded great and the venue was just the right size. As for the compliants here - people are always going to talk, sing, be over 6' tall and bump into you. If intense moshing is what you need to satisfy, look a little harder, there were "mini" pits all over. This show was so much better than Wednesdays T5. No blown speaker, no 100 degrees, no bad sight lines. NIN played their asses off both nights but it is amazing how the venue makes a difference. If the Aragon let the same proportion of people in as T5 there would have 7000 instead of 4500. So hats off to the Aragon for knowing how to run a show, thanks to Trent and thanks to all the cool NIN fans.

Well it was a good show from the little I saw. I was on the rail and have never been so squished at a NIN show, ever. I got kicked in the head early on, and during Banged And Blown Through started blacking out. The security guys noticed pretty quick (I think my head was lolling), and I had to be pulled out during Burn. "Watched" the rest of the show from the paramedic station. Great view of the equipment ramp. Made waiting in line for 14 hours totally worth it.

Yeah I'm bitter. :-P

Other than that: opening with the first three songs of Broken in order had me hoping... come Trent, you can do it! :-D

They put a video camera on Trent's light stand--the one in front of his keyboard--and I knew that wasn't going to last for long. Hope that guy whose camera it was had insurance.

People seemed really into it where I was. No chattering about other things, just being into the music. I wish I had seen Peter Murphy. Did he just walk on stage this time? Hopefully he'll be there again tonight.

08/29/09 7:15 AM

I guess I have become one of those "sad-sacks" that rather take in the whole band's aura instead of having some half-assed drunk tribal-tattooed punk thinking slamming into people is moshing. Been there, done that, have the scars: since these two shows might be the last Chicago shows for quite some time, I rather remember the aura. And a great aura Friday night's show radiated. If Trent and company cease touring after this, then they should feel proud of the show with the dynamic range of songs that were played.

But I have a feeling the band feeds off the crowd reaction and will return sooner than later. Yet if they do not, then thanks Nine Inch Nails for twenty years of memories!

08/29/09 8:27 AM

Thank you.

08/29/09 7:52 AM

I ended up in the balcony with a great view but sound not as good. Can someone please post Trent's little speeches towards the end of the show? I couldn't make out a single goddamn word!

It goes without saying that I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when they played Eraser. Tonight I'm going on the floor to rock the fuck out. If people are complaining that the crowd was not into it last night, I'm gonna change that tonight.

I feel like a kid at Disneyland this weekend! Thanks NIN!!!!!!

08/29/09 7:56 AM

Well after some sleep and reading what the rest of you have said I'll have to agree. Perhaps I blew things out of proportion. It was a great night. While there may have been lots of idiots I really enjoyed myself and can't wait for tonight!
