last night was amazing. there were so many points during the night where i found myself in a spot where i couldn't even sing along because i just wanted to hear NIN do what they do. during those moments i noticed i had the most ridiculous grin on my face. there were times where i couldnt help but sing. i'd never seen trent that emotional while playing Hurt and it really hit home and the tears started rolling for me as well. the combination of singing, seeing trent and hearing everyone else just set it off. fantastic night.

thank you robin, elan, justin, trent. a fantastic weekend, an even better twenty years. cheers to what comes next!

I'll tell you a secret - we almost canceled because I woke up sick and unable to talk complete with chills, etc. I spent all day sleeping trying to shake it but still felt terrible walking to the stage... then something happened and by the end I felt great. Weird.

Sang and played your fucking heart out Trent, from the beginning to the end, sick or not. The whole band did too. I flew from FL to see this show and except for maybe the awe of the first time I saw NIN, this was my favorite.

Also, cheers to all the Chicago right stage floor peeps for not being pansies on the floor like most of the shows here in FL. Awesome energy from everyone - not afraid to let go.

Ruiner and Mr. Self Destruct... two favorites I hadn't heard in years.

Thank you very much!

Waking up this morning and realizing I will never see a live show that great again was a bit sad, but in the end I had the best weekend of my life.

The guys really put everything they had in to the show.

Also, Robin and Justin - THANKS! It was really awesome that you two came out to take pictures, sign autographs, and chat with the fans waiting outside the Aragon after the show. Talking to you guys was surreal and I will NEVER forget that moment.

This was my 14th and final NIN show. I never would have guessed that Trent was sick during the day. He was spectacular and the band was spectacular. This was THE best NIN concert I have ever seen.

I had an unobstructed center view of the stage from the balcony. I was so happy to get "the way out is through" and "ruiner." Rocking out during "mr self destruct" also never gets old.

The beauty of the design of the venue really struck me. Absolutely breathtaking! I am glad I ended my NIN live experience this way. Thank you Trent and thank you Chicago!

Fuck I am in pain today...Had a great time last night, I will have to say the best NIN show in a loooooong time (going back to 95). I can't decide if its my #1 or #2. Thanks Trent for not canceling, my friend from New York would have been pissed he came all this way. That was the nicest mosh pit I've ever had the privilege of getting shoved around in I must say.

Currently sorting pics and vids too.

The NIN show at Aragon on Friday night was exhilerating and unforgettable!! I am a huge NIN fan and I am really gonna miss seeing NIN perform live. I have never been to any concert other that NIN and I can't see any band or concert ever comparing to their songs or performances. I was really excited to hear The Fragile performed live, it gave me chills. I am so greatful that I got to expierence this concert. I wish I would have discovered NIN's music earlier in life so I could have gone to more concerts. My 1st concert was The Lights in the Sky tour in 2007 at STL, thats when I became hooked! Then I went to the Wave Goodbye Chicago Tour and the concert Friday night. Thanks for such a great concert and giving me music to be passionate about! Trent I hope one day I get to meet you, you are such an inspiration and amazing performer!

Awesome! Thanks for a great 20 years! I just want to say to the chic in the back that kept screaming at the top of her lungs... Ok great, but your scream pierced and hurt everyone's ears and after being asked to stop you still did it.... YOU ARE A DUMB CUNT! Everyone else was great!! Loved the big dude that was gonna pass out by us...Hope you made it home buddy!! LOL Thanks for a great night...

I was born in 1986. I remember being somewhat a fan at around 6 years old due to my older sister's influence. NiN has been the only band that has been in my cds, my favorite list, and now my playlist, throughout my life. No other band has been with me throughout my life. They are tied with but one other band as my favorite, but Nin has had such an impact since they have always, and will always be there. As a kid and preteen, they were the awesome rock band that had me feeling like I was so cool. Stupid, but still fun attitude. As a teen they comforted me through a few events that actually gave me reason for teenage brooding. As an adult I now see the technical and emotional strength the band has always been. I don't know a world without nin, and I'm luckier for it.

They're a band that due to darker themes, dont get appreciated as much for the musical skill and emotional depth. Any artist like trent, who focuses more on finding a sound, than on more traditional means(just penning out notes), has their music shaped and created for them through that sound searching....and its absolutely exciting to hear something you've never heard before rip through you. This is a musician, an artist.

I generally hate fans of most bands, but especially nin fans. Last night however, during this show, I was so happy to hear such an awesome crowd giving it their all, especially now knowing trent was sick as hell earlier. Trent and company were absolutely mind blowing. This is the kind of show you always hope to see. Trentasaurus knocking so much crap over, the band rocking through it, the energy level going up so high. I teared up during one of the beginning songs, dont remember which. It was just a realization of the quality of show I was going to see and how close it was to his last and just how much he was putting into it. Was hoping for a bit more quiet during hurt, but I guess I understand why with it so close to the end.

Great stuff, I got to see right where it belongs live, and well...my misanthropy(but optimism) was turned off for a little because of what occurred last night.

Last night will stay with me forever. I gave it my all and I'm deeply saddened that I won't get to experience anything like this for a long time..please come back soon Trent! You truly are an immense inspiration to so many and you put on shows that are absolutely unforgettable.

The energy levels during Mr. Self Destruct, Ruiner, and Wish were incredible. Thanks to the people who helped me when the crowd started to get rough.

Trent, JMJ, Robin, and Ilan; thank you so much for letting us have one last experience with you guys. I can't wait to see what's next for all of you.

Thanks for everything Trent.

the good:
set selection
band energy
peter murphy
and, ilan, in particular.

the bad:
the crowd, or at least those within a 10 ft. radius of where i was, really sucked. kept talking at elevated levels, during the quite parts...la mer and the frail. and worse, than that, became angry when implored to keep quite. all of this was unforgivable...to the band and to those who wanted to listen to the music.
the acoustics: poor.

Overall, happy. But, if given a choice of the show in Budapest or Chicago, I would take Budapest.

08/30/09 2:57 PM

Thanks to Trent for sticking it out and kicking ass for us all. I am sorry that he felt bad- I am a nurse and would have gladly provided any services he desired.

It was a great show, NIN was on top of their game, and I always enjoy PM.

I think that maybe I'm too old to get Mew, though. They seem like a group that unicorns would dance over rainbows with. Give me the punch-in-the-face anyday.

Love you TR.

08/30/09 2:58 PM

I must say awesome show. Far better then the summer tour. Thanks
Okay, I am wondering is it us or were the security and bouncers/staff at the venue the biggest assholes ever!?!?! What was with all the barking at us in line, the yelling etc. What type of crowd did they expect? I have never been to a NIN concert and saw bad behavior by fans. No more then usual.
The big white dude barking and yelling outside was a total douchebag. No need to treat people like that. Other then the staff , the concert was awesome. However, We would never go back to that venue.
I have been to a ton of concerts in Detroit and never been treated so bad. What was with the 3 dollar water and NO drinking fountains. WTF. Greed and VERY POOR MANAGEMENT
Sorry I am ranting but damn.
to ANYONE FROM NIN THAT READS THIS PLEASE RETHINK THAT VENUE IN THE FUTURE....
Okay whew had to get that off my chest.

My friend and I drove in from Kent, Ohio yesterday morning, found a parking space (which took about an hour), then went into the venue. After the show we drove for a while then slept in the car at a rest stop somewhere in Indiana. We got home a few hours ago, but I would make that 800 mile round trip for NIN again any day!

The concert was amazing, and I really don't think that I will see many other shows that will be able to match the energy that was created last night. Everyone around me seemed to be into the show, and it was the best crowd at a NIN show that I have seen.
(Minus that drunken idiot that was covered in tribal tattoos who just felt the need to pay no attention to anything at all and beat the shit out of everyone around him. He was an ass, and I hope that he is horribly hung over right now. He deserves it.)

I also apologize to the girl in the white tank top whose toes I kept landing on! I was on the right side about 15 feet back, right next to a pit, and was wearing a black "Wave Goodbye shirt from the earlier hows this summer. If this was you, I'm sorry!

08/30/09 3:36 PM

Just got back to Cincinnati and WOW last night was the best show I have ever seen. I spent most of the night up front getting my ass kicked I am too old for that. I have been going to NIN shows since the first time I saw them at Woodstock 94. There is only one other show that even comes close to what I saw last night and that would be the show at the Congress, Chicago in 2005. The crowd for both shows was awesome and you can tell the Trent and the rest of the band just feeds off that energy. Thank you Trent for another great show I am glad to hear you are feeling better, but most of all thank you Chicago for the being the best crowd to get your ass kicked in.

Glad you pulled through; that show hit the spot. Thank you.

To all of you cool cats that were in the TM pre-sale line (you know who you are winking smiley): Thanks to yous I had a FUCKING blast waiting for the show despite all of the trials and tribulations: roughing it in the parking lot and alley--the rain, the wind, the RATS (oh geez, the RATS), laryngitis. I wouldn't have done it any differently ... well, maybe just a few things ... but anyway. Oh, and thanks for helping me come up with all the great menu ideas.

I had a great spot on the floor, thanks to Stef and Jake (a little to the left of TR behind two of the most patient people I've ever come across; things got rough, and I tried to keep my elbows off of their backs as much as possible), I managed to get some great pics, and of course I enjoyed EVERY minute of this show especially Echoplex (I lost my voice the night before--from yelling so loud at the first show--but I mustered up enough strength to "squeak" along with the song, and cheer as loud as I possibly could).

This has been mentioned earlier: this weekend was EPIC!!!

These last shows were probably the most brilliant thing Trent has ever decided to do because with the intensity of the crowd, the energy of the band, and the overall experience of knowing that you and a thousand other true, die-hard fans were there to be part of music history, it needed to be done like this. You hear people at shows scream, "I love you Trent" and you kinda laugh to yourself. But you know what, Trent Reznor and his music have been such a huge part of my life for so long now. He has shaped part of the way I think about the world, myself, others, and made me grow as a person. So I understand that uncontrollable urge to scream, "I LOVE YOU TRENT!!!" Because I do. It makes sense to love someone who has been there with his art to make me feel better, to take away the pain, to make me cry, to make me rage, to make me just feel like I am not the only one who feels this way. I love Trent Reznor. Not ashamed to say it. So happy that you didn't cancel on us.

Kind of sappy but I totally agree winking smiley

The "I love you Trent" 's last night made me smile

08/30/09 4:03 PM

Even though I've only had the privilege of seeing NIN live twice in my life (First at the Chicago show this last May, then last night), I have to say last night was the fucking BEST show I have EVER been to! I would never have guessed Trent was not feeling well, with all the energy he had on that stage. Belting out those lyrics and knocking shit over, it was amazing.

I managed to arrive at the venue as early as planned yesterday, and was kind of surprised at how short the presale line was. I had expected more people at that point. Parking was mildly annoying, as when I called Friday I was told by someone at the Aragon that they had 3 parking lots, two of which opened in the morning. Well, I only saw two, and up until tickets were passed out only one looked like it was open. Waiting in line for 9 hours was very enjoyable, thanks to some of the awesome people waiting nearby. Met some great fans in line, and everyone seemed to be really chatty and social during the day. Handing the tickets out ahead of time was an awesome idea, way easier for everyone, it seemed, than the method used at the show last May.

Thanks to some eager (and somewhat pushy) ladies behind me I managed to get through the line and into the venue faster than I expected, and after making fun of my friend that it was up to him to get rail for us I was amused that I was the one saving him a spot on rail. Just off to JMJ's right ended up being an awesome spot, and there were speakers hanging right in front of us. I thought they were going to blow my eardrums out during Mew, but it would have been more than worth it.

NIN was absolutely amazing last night. I was feeling a little selfish early in the set and wasn't really enjoying the near-repeat set from the last show I saw, but then I started noticing the little changes to every song that made last night so much better than 5/29. There was way more energy on the stage, the way Trent sang some of the lyrics were different. I can't figure out who was doing it, but I also noticed this high-pitched guitar(?) line in the background on Metal, which just kicked ass. Every moment of that show was awesome, especially JMJ on the upright bass.

After hearing so many negative comments from the last few shows I wasn't too thrilled when I heard Peter Murphy was going to be there last night, but I have changed my opinion now. Even with the one screw-up I heard in Reptile (I recorded the song and have watched it 2 or 3 times already today), it was amazing just to finally hear that song live. It is by far one of my fav NIN songs, and my definite fav off TDS. PM was entertaining as hell, and I would love to see him and Trent perform together again.

I can't say enough about how much I loved last night's show. I've never felt so connected to so many people at a concert before, and I will really miss that feeling at future concerts. Though one of the highlights last night had to be stopping at the Des Plains oasis on the way home and my friend being asked if he went to the Lil Wayne concert too. LOL. Though I did run into a couple girls in the bathroom there who I think had been at the show too (If you're on the forums, Hi!! I was wearing the black tour T and green pants, LOL). Now I guess it's time to start going through all my pictures and videos (all 522 of them) so I can get them posted for others to see.

To Trent, Ilan, Robin, and Justin, thank you guys for everything you've done this year. This tour has been amazing, and I love the energy you've all had on stage. Even though I look forward to future work from you all, I will miss seeing/hearing you all play together.

I feel all used and beaten up, but in the most amazing way possible. Thank you Trent and company for giving me the best show of my life. The entire show was perfect, from the set list and the crowd to the band. And Trent's performance during hurt was one of the most emotional ones I have ever seen. 08/30/09 4:30 PM

After the Shows and the bars Friday night, I walked to my car which was parked about a mile and a half a way. Changed clothes, grabbed my Saturday printout and headed back to the line. got back about 2AM and there were 3 people sleeping in chairs. I sat for a while then went back to the bar for one more. 2:30AM I go sit down in a couple chairs and try to relax, but the city just wasnt havin it. Waited till about 4AM and was absolutely freesing so I started back to my car to grab a jacket, got about 1/3 of the way there and decided I would get food instead cause my legs werent up for the rest of the walk there and back. Got back to the lot as 4AM and, without a blanket, pillow, or anything, went to sleep on the pavement. I woke up an hour later to one of the many rats that came out at night, sitting about to feet from my face munching on some bread, when I moved he ran and literally hurdeled me... that was enough of that so I got back into a chair and talked with one of the other 3 who had spent the night.
As the rest of the group that had been out there the morning before started to filter in the day got better. Scott and Monique were nice enough to bring out their sleeping bags from their car so I could at least lay down and rest for a while in line, even though sleep was still not working for me and Lex kindly provided us with a beer again.
This time when we got in, Scott had decided he would be the designated merch guy for our group in the line, so while he grabbed us all our mshirts/posters, me, Moniqu and Steph headed for the rail. We got about 3rd row I believe. Things were a lot tighter to begin with than they were Friday. Stood thru Mew again and I think they hurt my head even worse this time.
Nails again put on a great show! Was hoping they would switch the setlist up a little more but I was still happy. Was much more impressed with Peter Murphy this time around, Reptile and Final Solution were great. Was cool that rent told us he wasnt done making music and how much he loved Chicago. Again wished people would shut the hell up during Hurt and just let Trent sing, during most other songs I am all for going nuts, singing along, yelling, etc but there are a few when people just need to sand there quietly and watch the man do his magic.
Afterwards I got a drumstick! Was really happy with that after I got hit in the head with one Friday and didnt get it, was also stoked that Illan had used it well, was all beat to hell and not just an extra. Then it was off to the bars with the line crew again.
Overall the weekend was great! The line, the people, the comfy pavement nap with the rats, getting the drumstick, and both NIN shows were awesome. As Trent said though, it was kinda bittersweet, not knowing if I'll ever get to do it again. Hopefully he will get that itch a few years down the road and treat us all to another weekend.
Thanks again to the Mooseknuckle line crew, NIN, and Trent!

Very bittersweet show.....I'm sad we won't be seeing NIN live for a long time. I've seen Trent like 12 times in the last 4 years and am going to miss looking forward to their next tour. But I was very happy to hear he will keep making music.

The show was awesome, just a great effort and long set

08/30/09 4:40 PM

Trent, the past two nights were the highlight of my NIN concert career. These were my 9th and 10th shows. Been a fan since 1990. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Peter Murphy, a legend. Amazing.

3 nights in Chicago, 7 hours of sleep, 2 Nine Inch Nails shows, 60+ NIN songs live. I want to use the word EPIC to describe what transpired, but there are not words with enough weight to carry these events. I went into the belly of the beast two nights in a row, and I emerged as a better human being. Thank you Trent. Thank you Nine Inch Nails.

It has been a great pleasure to get to know and hang out with my Ticketmaster Line people. We owned that shit! For both shows I was no further back than the 10th person in line. I definitely could not have spent my time waiting for NIN any better. Thanks guys. Mooseknuckle? I also want to give a shout out to Carl, the Security Man/Good Vibe Tech. Carl, Carl's mullet, and Carl's badassitude certainly enhanced my experience.

Swords in the ceiling? A milk crate that proves itself as the single most valuable, versatile and just plain awesome article on my person? Who would have guessed.

I think that bittersweet is the word that I'm looking for as I ponder all of this.

As a side note, we went to Neo after Saurday's show. I met a very cool 23 year old German girl and asked here to yell at me in German like she's all pissed off. It was like love at first site haha.

This map is NOT drawn to scale.
