I had a seriously fantastic time all day in line with Melissa from NYC and the guys from Las Vegas. I was on the rail on the right side of the stage basically in front of Robins monitor. Aside from seeing NIN with Bowie in 95 this is probably the best show I have ever seen. I have some videos up on youtube (not great but fun) under pixiechick7609. Enjoy.

For the chick the kicked me in the back.. I hope you enjoy the the bruises you got in return.

p.s the 6'03 or 4 bald guy, w/black framed glasses, black dress shirt and pants. Very nice!

Yes, the four line thing at the entrance was crap. The main problem was that after taking the first 30 people over to this 'four line' area, they didn't wait before letting the rest of us come over. They hadn't even started security checking the first 30! If they had done that, then you guys would have been fine.

At the end, I walked as fast as I could while filming and got rail a bit to the right of Robin. At the end of the show, I was completely in front of him. ;-)

As this show was on my birthday, I tried to film it all but ran out of battery by 'burn'. My poor camera was hot as the dickens by that time so I'm sure that didn't help nor the filming in HD. :-D When I am home, I will put what I can up on
Vimeo. I apologize in advance for the shakey crazy cam.

At the end of the day though, I am completely happy about this show. Best birthday present ever!! TDS AND Gary Numan (though that time #2 for me). :-D

I certainly hope TR feels well enough to finish the last two shows. I am okay if he decides just to do instrumentals for Wiltern maybe and save his voice for Echoplex. :-)

Thanks to all the cool people in line especially. We got cold, we got hot, we got in at least and saw an top notch NIN show.

yea it was difficult for me to record and take pics. they kept pusshing me in the pit. i felt bad cuz i kept hitting people with my elbows sometimes while filimf and taking pictures. so after awhile i started taking less and less pictures.

09/03/09 9:37 PM

Absolutely Amazing show! I can;t believe we got TDS in its entirety! I was so happy to finally hear ruiner live!

I was "offline" today, so I didn't find out about the cancellation until I rolled up to the Venue @ 5:30. While I am looking forward to Echoplex, I won;t be mad if the Fonda becomes the last show. Last night was just more affirmation that when NIN stops touring there will be a huge hole in the art of live performance...

...And Gray fucking Neuman! OMG I love HIM sooo much! (If you are making a return to the stage Saturday....it would be AMAZING to hear "Are Friends Electric?" I have been wanting to see him, but have always missed him for one reason or another.

Mew reminded me of Sigur Ros...I wanted to go check out the Mewseum at some point this weekend...but dunno if I will have the chance.

I gave Queen Kong a chance, because I know when I saw Carre Callaway open for NIN in 2005 she was 18 and opening for a band that has a psycho following and they were the first shows NIN had played in 5 years...BUT...not really into it. Maybe if Trent spends more time mentoring her now that he will be in town...but I'm not holding my breath. She is a snappy dresser. Loved the shoes!

I just hope he chooses to do the occasional special performances a la Maynard...after a looong break, which he deserves. The mind reels at the notion that he has been on tour for the last four months!

Loved running into my NIN buddies...and the fabulous Adrianne Curry! You rock for waiting in line and braving the pit!

I tried to hang in the back, but couldn;t see very well, so I ended up moving around a lot.
A VERY big thank you to the guy and girl on the balcony that let me scoot in and take pictures for a few songs! I got some great crowd shots...where I recognized many faces! It was such a great spot, I didn't wait to leave!

More later...but I'm fried and need my rest---have to work tomorrow and need to rest up before I brave the front the next shows. I'm going to think positive and hope TR is better by Saturday.

then I put my camera away and gently held Trent's head. Some people were really hanging on to him good. I thought he was going to get his wrist broken.

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING SHOW.

NIN took the stage at the Palladium almost, exactly 24 hours ago, and I'm still blown away by the show.

It's sad knowing it is going to be the last time I see NIN live, but I was well worth it all. Trent, thanks for an amazing run. To all of you lucky enough to go the next couple shows, ENJOY IT!

If anybody happens to know of, or can link to some audio torrents of the show, it would be much appreciated. This is one show I don't want to forget.

09/03/09 10:27 PM

yes to most of the above - absolutely one of the best shows ever - and as a longtime Gary Numan fan from day one, what a great treat (and, to be honest, I would have been less surprised if it had been Bowie) - and major props to Trent for acknowledging Gary's influence and recognizing his very underappreciated music - and even better Gary played some of the synth parts - thank you so much, Trent, for making it happen

(as an aside, maybe Gary can borrow the band and the NIN gear and do a couple shows while Trent recovers - this man needs to do some US shows again soon)

stood right in front of the soundboard at the entrance to the floor - perfect sightline for my 5'-5" gf as the bouncers kept an open path between us and the crowd and kept traffic to minimum - no problem picking up the tix, the entrance line moved fast - the worst was the merch line but the t-shirts are cool and typo'ed posted is priceless - sound was great, the crowd was cool where we were (but, to the girl standing behind me who insisted on screaming the lyrics of each song into my ear, practice in the shower some more so you can at least sing in key) - even the waiter at Denny's afterwards was awesome - comped about half our food

You could pretty much tell by Closer TR wasn't feeling so hot but, man, hats off - what a show - I have tix for the Fonda show and hope they will reschedule - we parked in the lot right by the Fonda and when we got back to the car there was already about 30 people in line and all of sudden there was this loud cry as somebody saw the Twitter post followed by a collective wail of despair - really feel for the folks traveling to LA and hope it all works out somehow

even if I don't get to another show, what a way to end it - thanks to everyone

09/03/09 10:38 PM

I pray for a reschedule since nothing is final about refunds yet. If they can't reschedule at Fonda, another venue please!

09/03/09 10:41 PM

Super awesome show....sticking around afterward really paid off!! Thanks Ash!!

09/03/09 10:44 PM

I don't remember too much happening after the show. Trent came out, went straight to his car, drove off. I never saw the others come out.

Wave goodbye, indeed! This was the BEST NIN show I have ever been to, and I have been to many. I stood in line all day and was able to get up to the front of the stage. We were stationed in front of Justin (bassist) holding onto the fence for dear life. Stayed up there till terrible lie cause I had to go puke for a second (standing in the hot sun all day only to go get drenched in the sweat and booze of others on the floor that felt 150 degrees made me sick), but came back in time to work my way close for burn, suck and so on. Best show ever, hands down.

Couldn't believe when Gary walked out! I heard rumor of Bowie. They rocked the house together

09/03/09 10:51 PM

I gave up that spot for a 2nd row position in front of Trent. No sorry to have done so either.

THANK YOU!!! Rainbows to you all smiling smiley.

Trent ~ You TOUCHED ME, Oh my my my me! You locked on to my right hand finger tips, the STRONGEST, SWEATIEST, SEXIEST finger tips I have ever felt. Then for the cherry ~ I snagged the Angels hat that someone placed on your precious head. Thanks a bunch to that guy!!! Your amazing anyway TR, but playing for us & the other shows you did while sick, well you just didn't have to do that. Your a trooper and you deserve the rest of a life time. I am going to try to go to the Wiltern and just hope they sell tix last minute like they did at the Palladium. If I dont get into another show, I wont get mad. I got to see one hell of a show. Even during the NIN/JA tour when trent hooked me up with backstage passes I stayed in the crowd. A concert is ONLY good in FRONT of the stage. The VIP section was up on a BALCONY last night. No fucking thank you! whats the point? I made a bunch of cool new friends and even got the last wife beater wave goodbye tour shirt from merch (to the dismay of many bitches behind me) I am just sad I got sick for 5 minutes and lost my fucking front row @ the stage for burn and suck (and Gary). Though I did manage to get close enough.

Trent dove into the audience when I WAS down there and I felt bad for the dude. I cant imagine what it feels like to be pawed at like an animal...but cant say I blame any of the single ladies ; )

if anyone found a camera, or saw bits and pieces of one on the ground near the front/center .. please let me know! i just want the pics off it ;(

So I wouldn't be surprised if in those final moments some tickets free up at the Wiltern as well. You might want to try.

Sucks to hear you that you got sick and missed all those amazing songs, BUT whatever you missed you can catch on my YouTube page... i videotaped the entire show winking smiley And I"ll be doing the same for all the remaining shows. Enjoy winking smiley

Ticketmaster or whoever was in charge of security: you're also a bunch of cunts. Reseperating the line into four lines, some with incompetent people who do things too slow, COMPLETELY screwed over people who waited the night for a spot. Luckily I sprinted in, despite the many people threatening to throw us out, and hit front middle rail. The guys that I stayed the night with (who were also in front of me) were stuck several fucking rows behind. Fuck you very much, four row system.
.

Wait, did you actually expect a venue that holds that many people, and having to deal with the sold out audience to have ONE LINE? You seriously need to get your head checked on the logistics of things. They split it up to be faster and more efficient and to get everyone in easier. It would have taken even longer to enter the venue if it was one line. And its your fault if you dont listen to the inctrustions before you even got into the line. EVERYTHING OUT AND IN VIEW TO BE SEARCHED.

I actually really don't understand why there are so many people complaining about the lines. Even over at Echoing the sound there seems to be a large amount of people whining.

The line for my shirt took longer than the line to get in.... I also dont know why so many people camped out. I arrived at 6:30. waited about 2 minutes for my wrist band and then hopped in the line which was around the block but moving at a rapid pace.

Even as they placed the wristband on me the guys said "dont worry line is moving quickly"... which it did.

all i can think of is there are a lot of people out there who dont attend shows regularly. and dont understand the difficulty of getting 3600 people into a small venue all in the course of 2 hours.....

I feel bad for the morons that camped out. Are you all that retarded? I arrived at 6:30..... fresh as a daisy!!!

Yeah. You must be right. I'm really retarded. My deepest apologies for deciding to camp out at the venue for fun! I totally regret having a lot of fun with the people in line and meeting people! Damn.

And lol okkkk. You're completely right! If I had I my way - then I would let one person in every 15.6784 minutes just to allow them enough time to get to their spots. However, I didn't take into account how many are in a venue (I was thinking only 30, right?), because of - of course! - my lack of "attendance to shows!"

HUGS AND KISSES XOXOXOXOXOXOxxxxxx

------------

In all honesty - the "line situation" was fine for me and spending the night at the venue, meeting some pretty awesome people was definitely worth it. We sat drinking whiskey and champagne (great combination... I know) talking about concerts and bonding over the shitty 'iCarly' advertisements across the street.

I just felt like the "line situation" screwed a lot of people in the end who definitely deserved a better spot at the rail. I saw my friend with a blue mohawk who was in line at least 10 people in front of me three rows back during the show behind people who arrived the next day at like 2pm. Sure - I know it's not a guaranteed spot, but it's definitely not fair to them.

Line situations in MUCH bigger venues have been approached differently and worked fine. In the past, JT (or someone else) would lead the line out to the barrier slowly himself and would do so that the people in line would get a spot appropriated to where they stayed in line. There are OTHER other ways of making the line system work besides a "single line" theory, as you proposed that I believed - you don't have to be a dick about it and say "LOL YOU GUYS ARE RETADEDSS CUZ YOU SLEPT OVERNIGHTA ND IT WASAWFUL LOL I GOT IN LINE IN FRONT OF U AND ISHOWD UP AT 1 ROFLROFLLLAWFL I KNOW VENUE STATS AND SHIT."

I'm not trying to bitch. I'm just trying to point out that the line situation could have been dealt with differently for other people. It all depends on the venue and whatever each security guard decides, and I understand that.

The show was great. I enjoyed every minute of it. Go fuck yourself.
