I've been to a lot of shows (and many of those shows were NIN shows) and NOTHING comes even close to the intensity this one had. I was in the GA crowd the whole time and never before was I so squished. Not complaining! It was just really startling. That was the first time I actually had a flash of fear about going down and getting trampled. But I made it and that was the best show EVER! I can't believe I heard the entire Downward Spiral album live, in my face! And then 10 more songs! WHAT?! Gary Numan was an experience I will not
ever forget. His appearance was def the highlight for me. I gotta tell you though, my heart was in my mouth, totally hoping against hope that Trent would say the name David Bowie. However, Gary was awesome and the fact that I was really hoping to hear Metal made that part of the show so especially wonderful. With the exception of Gave Up, I think I danced the most to Cars! GOD, but that was fun! The rest of the men performing were phenomenal. Robin tickles me the pinkest of pinks. I don't know what it is about that man but he kills me. I dig him. Big time.
The first concert I ever went to in my life was a NIN show in Atlanta and the opening act was A Perfect Circle. Since that first show, I have not seen an opening act that I gave two hoots about. But MEW! THEY WERE EXCELLENT! I kept looking at my boyfriend with this goofy grin on my face saying, "Ohhh, I like them! I like them a
lot!"
So...who wishes there was more than one merch booth?
Who wished there was more than one hot dog booth?!
My feet are still aching and bruised from the constant stomps delivered from people. My neck and shoulders are kinda achy from head banging for the first time in a long time. My throat is sore from screaming various "Fuck yeah!"'s and "Thank you!"'s and my neck is sore from straining to see over the crowd (even though I was in heels, being 5'5" ain't helpful in that kind of scenario). My legs hurt. Period. That being said, I'm kinda relieved the Wiltern Show got pushed back to next Thursday. Also, my lovely man had surgery yesterday on his vocal cords and isn't in exactly the best condition to go to another NIN show himself. However, all these pains I bear with utter delight. That performance was top notch and it saddens me to know Trent wasn't feeling too hot while knocking it out of the park but at the same time I'm that much more grateful to him. Wotta guy, wotta guy! Let's give him a round of applause!
Love the beat
it moves my feet
inside my heart
I smash apart
the cymbals sizzle
my smile will drizzle
all over you
you hear it, too
trip on the tempo
love the crescendo
