OK, I will admit that during NIN/JA, I was mad he didn't do "Closer". I <3 *LOVE* <3 that song - even if some "real fans" think that is uncool. Tonight I didn't care. Didn't notice at all. He was just sooooo much more into it. He was as much as it galls me to say it: happy!

And it was contagious. Seeing Eric Avery again was awesome. I didn't know much about him as a person until I started following him on Twitter. OMG! That man is brilliant, funny, creative and off the charts intelligent. Oh and he ROCKS! I'd like a clone of him to marry. This had to be the best show ever. I barely took any pics or video. I was way too into it.
I did wonder how many of the kids out there knew who Gary Numan was. That is not a dis at the kids. I just turned *cough* 40 *cough* and I was 10 when "Pleasure Principle" came out. One year younger and I would be clueless about him. I never owned it but I played the $H!t out of my "Cars" 45 and the B-side. I only recognized one Joy Division song as "one of those 80s songs I always liked but had no clue what it was." "Atmosphere" for those keeping score.
I'm a big albeit newish Queen fan so I loved that cover. That and seeing "Cars" played but someone I loved when I was 10 totally made my night. Now, if I could only see Bowie.
