obviously you are so high on yourself, and your recent accolades, that you failed to understand what I meant/typed...
Also remind you, that you would of done the same if you were ticket-less and saw an open door to a NIN show...
So back to my point! My poor analogy was absurd on both ends. "It would be like me saying you cheated someone out of their view"...which that, was the sarcasm or given in my statement. Hating on him was absurd or unneeded IMHO...he cheated no one but the venue and people who don't "think on their feet". You took great vids without pissing people off (i hope) I could say some rude shit here...but basically don't act like what you did was bigger than the show itself, or that your "selfless act" of recording this show, entitles you to some higher opinion or status, that allows you to troll on some poor guy who is loving life cause he sneaked into a NIN show...It took me about 15 mins to stop shaking after sneaking in the pit with our tickets on our wrists....I guess i should feel ashamed according to you. Well sorry I don't, I feel incredibly lucky and thankful. Maybe not how you feel...I don't know, but I will agree to disagree...
So now back again to what I actually typed...go to the end part and read....Stop all the negativity. But if you cant communicate without simply throwing "player hater" back at me, or talking about a "system" that obviously has holes in it, that can be exploited by any opportunists with half a brain...oh and the absurd idea that he took a rail spot from someone? Laughable...Hey Thx...you are making me laugh again...and that's not negative! Thx! Watching your vids and laughing at you is better than therapy!
TRUCE?

hi guys, just uploaded my pics and wanted to share. hope you dig them.

I enjoyed myself SO HARD. no booze (drove out there alone) but pure energy!
*almost blacked out 13 songs in, but I left to recharge. By the time they did "Gave Up" I was able to magically get shoved right back into where i Kinda was. That's where the real fun was at!

PS: thank you again to the sweet ladies who brought me back a water while I watched their spot. Did not get your names but one of you told me about being a Static-X assistant and comic-con and stuff. Very cool suffering in the sun with you!

Those aren't at all the same thing. synthetik records shows and within hours already has videos going up for _everybody_ to enjoy. Risking getting equipment broken, exhaustively holding your arms up for an entire show and constantly having to check to make sure you've got everything in frame and you're not shaking too much, so that anybody who would like can see a recording of the show... an extremely selfless act.

The douchebag that snuck in had purely selfish motives. He didn't pay to get in, which says he believes he is more entitled to that money than the performers. Even if he claims he _would_ have paid for a ticket, the fact that he didn't says he doesn't think he shouldn't have had to put in as much effort as everybody else. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, let's say that he really did try to buy a ticket when they went on sale and had no luck. He didn't show up until 10PM, so clearly, he believes that he shouldn't have had to try all day to get a ticket, like everybody else hoping to get in. To top it all off, when he gets in, he went into the front of the pit, which is saying that regardless of how long everybody else in the pit waited in line for the show, he didn't believe he needed to pay those same dues.

I don't think that he consciously thought all those things, but his actions represent that mentality. Clearly he was more important than anyone else attending that show. He was entitled to special privileges.

after having sat in line since 8:15am and NOT being right on the rail (was 1 person back and am NOT a douche who will push people around) the fact that some fucking turdburgler wormed his way up there after having waved goodbye to NIN with his middle finger (thinking he was great enough that the boys should play for him for free) makes me physically ill. Bad Karma, asshole. At the very least, you could have stood in the back of the pit (an amazing view) seeing how many douchbag acts you had already committed by that point. But no, you wanted to be the biggest asshole who has ever lived. Congrats, you are.

*Edit* to say that we somehow wound up in the VIP area upstairs after the show, just kinda hanging out and not even knowing as much. Rob Sheridan went right by us on his way to take that "The End" pic and then came back to the VIP area. We asked some guy how he got the green guest sticker and he said that his manager used to be NIN's manager and gave it to him... Then he was like, "How'd you get in without one? Oh well, you're here now." lol

We were tempted to stay until kicked out but we decided a couple of peeps with arms full of merch would be pretty obviously not VIPs, hehe.
niiice, a friend and i had a very similar experience though it involved us working our sneaky basterd talents and acquiring passes w/o sucking anyone's dick for 'em. really wanted to chat with jade puget but he disappeared sad smiley DEP dudes+ techie were totally cool. mr. numan, mr. finck, and mr. jmj nice as ever. we stayed til almost everyone was gone just kinda reminiscing about the show, the past 2 weeks, how we met....went from him and 2 friends of his waking me up on the sidewalk by the fonda waiting in line for an AWATA listening party back in '05 to chillin' and having a beer in the VIP area after the last nin show \m/ pretty much on cloud 9 all night til our @#$%& eyes saw "great below" crossed out on a setlist :/

got to attend 3/4 L.A. shows. only planned one was the wiltern. and all 3 shows i witnessed are unique and special in their own little ways, just like every actual nin album. some may think one is better, more evolved and put together than the other. but it's kinda pointless to argue because at the end of the day, they rule equally for different reasons. @palladium, we got special neat lil pins and TDS in its entirety. wiltern, 35+ songs and musical stage orgy. personally, echoplex was the show to be at. it embodies what a tr00 nails show is, imo; the crammed small venue, shitty ac, ppl soaken wet as if fresh out of the pool, everyone singing/yelling their lungs out to songs, a killer setlist, and new friends in line.

only things i would have changed from the wiltern are: keep great below for epic reasons and to have had my 2 best friends (also pretty big ninfans) present. am still pretty blank from these past 3 shows, trying to process things slowly. wish and mr. self destruct w/DEP are the most intense versions i've experienced and closest thing we could've all gotten to the wish music video tongue sticking out smiley coolest version of piggy and anything featuring garson ruled. did not expect to hear any more yz tracks other than survivalism. so warning and me, i'm not were great surprises, especially with atticus. thought about how it would be funny if trent ended the show with "nananana's" and almost did. LITS tour was very well put together but it was just a bad year personally and wasn't 'feelin' it much. so when they closed with twilight (very unexpected), i got all emoface also, more so coz i'd forgotten it still holds some significance.

all that typed, perfect 3 songs to end the show with. preferred the 2nd half of the 3.whatever hours played. venue was alright considering all those who attended. am very lucky to have a friend help me get as close to pit section i could after arriving at 8:30pm (jonjesse, ninbros4lyfe yo). glad to have made new and old ninfriends through these years. glad to have nin around for the best and worst times of my short life. and very glad to have found a new boba joint to go to smiling smiley

I could have called my manager and had him rally some VIP passes so I could stroll around with something unearned and in my eyes, undeserving(and something I could never bring myself to do). Instead, I found myself a legit ticket (didn't think I would, thank you karen!!!) and stood in line all fucking day in the blasting sun because I felt it was the right thing to do. I paid my dues when I probably didn't have to, but I knew as a real fan and a decent person that it was the right thing to do. It was also fun, and I am really glad I did it (arrived at palladium at noon 4 tix and stood in line till showtime)

Sneaking into the pit when you have paid for a ticket is fine by me! The pit could have stood to have a few more souls in it, and I dont mind people lucking out. That would be an instant orgasm to me! I lucked out at the Palladium when this chick emily who follows me on twitter stopped me and asked me to join her in line. Did I earn that place in line? No, but it happened without me really trying, and I took it...made a cool friend too. I felt kinda guilty, so I went to the bar when I came in and ordered a few rounds before going out to the floor. To just waltz into a show not paying and grabbing the best seats in the house is to feel you fucking deserve something that you don't. It is arrogant and bad form. So, Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, YOUR COOL, and Fuck you, I'm out!

09/12/09 2:19 AM

The pit sucked because the rowdy people who wanted to be in the pit weren't there. They were up on the floor or worse yet, stuck in the balcony.

Someone will need to explain to me:

1. Why does the LA fire department limit the pit to 200 people, but not give a shit if 800 are in the tier right above. It's not like anyone is getting out if the place burns down. Seems retarded. Security should have just let people down to the first tier who wanted to be there - assholes. (By the way, they did for $25/head).

2. Why did NIN pick a venue without an open floor? If you want energy, you don't pick a place with chairs and walls. I recall back in 95, Trent threatened to leave Boston Garden unless we ripped out the chairs. With 100s of options in LA, why did he pick this one?? Weird.

Finally, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't believe the pit or rail should be first come first served. The pit is rough. People get pushed around. People fight for their spots. I was in the front row at Woodstock in 94, and I promise you no one said thats your spot you got here first. IT was all out war - the way it should be.

Show was great. Crowd energy sucked, but the crowd had no chance.

09/12/09 2:24 AM

^^^ that's why echoplex was my fave venue. wish i could've seen 'em back in the day but i was barely 10 tongue sticking out smiley

09/12/09 2:32 AM

Who cares what douchbag did (not calling him that, simply a reference only) We all had a great time and got to see one helluva amazing show.

We all try to pretend that logic and fairness somehow involved when in fact most concerts are organized chaos. It's a simple fact of life that in any situation like this, certain amount of people will get screwed and certain amount of people will catch a break. I have been to NIN shows where we stood in line all day only to get screwed when the venue opened up three lines.

Hell the rescheduling of this concert itself is a perfect example of how some people got screwed and other benefited from it by being able to get tickets yesterday.

I don't have a beef with the guy because at the end of the day I am presuming he probably didn't affect anyone elses experience of the show, so no harm no foul. But that is just my opinion. Since he didn't pay for one, I think it would be cool to see him donate $65 to the Eric De La Cruz fund. Would that be fair enough?

What counts at the the end of the day is that we all rocked HARD. I only hope the band enjoyed it as much as we did.

(besides him not talking in the first place)

My biggest complaint is about the people who choose to carry on conversations (at a high volume) during the show. This isn't a bar people, your not supposed to talk over the music. People who have no regard for those around them are the ones who get my douche of the show award.

By the way, the 50-60 year old mom rocking out in front of us was great. She knew all the songs and kicked ass. Cheers!

I hate to have this be my first post on the NIN forums, but here goes...

I don't give a fuck whether you've owned every single NIN CD ever, I don't give a fuck whether you've seen Trent 100 times, I don't give a fuck whether you've been to every goddamned concert the guy has ever been put on...stop bitching that you didn't get into this one. Honestly, seeing so many people trying to call out others on the fact that they "didn't deserve" to see last night's show, or claiming that sneaking into the show (or into the pit) was acceptable just because you thought it was...it wasn't.

If someone got a ticket and you didn't...they tried harder. If someone got pit access and you didn't...they tried harder.

Honestly, people, Trent put on his last show for ALL of his fans, not just those who could just show how much more hardcore they were than the next guy. Reading some of the comments on this site just makes me depressed...so because this is only my girlfriend's 2nd NIN show she should have gotten shittier tickets than you? Because this is my 3rd NIN show I should be in the balcony instead of 4 people from the stage?!?

Really...you think this is what Trent was intending? Seriously, get over yourselves. The people sneaking into the show were douchebags. The people sneaking into the pit were douchebags. The people scheming extra merch were all douchebags. The people bitching that someone got a better view than them were douchebags.

I love NIN as much (and more) than the next guy, but reading the comments on this show just really depresses the shit out of me. Apparently some people can like an artist but not understand at all what that artist was trying to get across...

btw, mad props to Adrienne Curry. She was like 10 people ahead of me in line and was cool with everyone, even when someone asked her to sign a dozen or so naked pictures of her lol...

Best concert line crowd EVER.

LOL that we both posted about talkers then. I had a friend that was near him to, guess he was bad. Ours was a some girl who was a +1 I presume. I politely recommended to them that they could have saved a lot of money if they simply went to Starbucks if they wanted to talk so much. One was very nice about it but the other laid into me like I punched her in the face. She then proceeded to fuck with us for most of the rest of the show. Stepping on us, throwing her hair in our face. She wanted us to move but fuck her, we were in that spot long before her.

I agree. The concert line crowd of the first 250 were just awesome. (not saying the rest were not)
