chaonatic posted:*Edit* to say that we somehow wound up in the VIP area upstairs after the show, just kinda hanging out and not even knowing as much. Rob Sheridan went right by us on his way to take that "The End" pic and then came back to the VIP area. We asked some guy how he got the green guest sticker and he said that his manager used to be NIN's manager and gave it to him... Then he was like, "How'd you get in without one? Oh well, you're here now." lol
We were tempted to stay until kicked out but we decided a couple of peeps with arms full of merch would be pretty obviously not VIPs, hehe.
niiice, a friend and i had a very similar experience though it involved us working our sneaky basterd talents and acquiring passes w/o sucking anyone's dick for 'em. really wanted to chat with jade puget but he disappeared

DEP dudes+ techie were totally cool. mr. numan, mr. finck, and mr. jmj nice as ever. we stayed til almost everyone was gone just kinda reminiscing about the show, the past 2 weeks, how we met....went from him and 2 friends of his waking me up on the sidewalk by the fonda waiting in line for an AWATA listening party back in '05 to chillin' and having a beer in the VIP area after the last nin show \m/ pretty much on cloud 9 all night til our @#$%& eyes saw "great below" crossed out on a setlist :/
got to attend 3/4 L.A. shows. only planned one was the wiltern. and all 3 shows i witnessed are unique and special in their own little ways, just like every actual nin album. some may think one is better, more evolved and put together than the other. but it's kinda pointless to argue because at the end of the day, they rule equally for different reasons. @palladium, we got special neat lil pins and TDS in its entirety. wiltern, 35+ songs and musical stage orgy. personally, echoplex was the show to be at. it embodies what a tr00 nails show is, imo; the crammed small venue, shitty ac, ppl soaken wet as if fresh out of the pool, everyone singing/yelling their lungs out to songs, a killer setlist, and new friends in line.
only things i would have changed from the wiltern are: keep great below for epic reasons and to have had my 2 best friends (also pretty big ninfans) present. am still pretty blank from these past 3 shows, trying to process things slowly. wish and mr. self destruct w/DEP are the most intense versions i've experienced and closest thing we could've all gotten to the wish music video

coolest version of piggy and anything featuring garson ruled. did not expect to hear any more yz tracks other than survivalism. so warning and me, i'm not were great surprises, especially with atticus. thought about how it would be funny if trent ended the show with "nananana's" and almost did. LITS tour was very well put together but it was just a bad year personally and wasn't 'feelin' it much. so when they closed with twilight (very unexpected), i got all emoface also, more so coz i'd forgotten it still holds some significance.
all that typed, perfect 3 songs to end the show with. preferred the 2nd half of the 3.whatever hours played. venue was alright considering all those who attended. am very lucky to have a friend help me get as close to pit section i could after arriving at 8:30pm (jonjesse, ninbros4lyfe yo). glad to have made new and old ninfriends through these years. glad to have nin around for the best and worst times of my short life. and very glad to have found a new boba joint to go to
erased, over, out.
