Hehe, yep - same here. NIN has been the soundtrack to my life since I bought PHM a few months after release after reading an article about Trent in Rolling Stone.

My list:

1. Head Down
2. 1,000,000
3. Discipline

02/04/09 8:46 PM

1,000,000... when this comes up while driving, I unwillingly end up speeding.

My fav is DEMON SEED, great song, an the music behind it is with out saying just brillant's on Mr. Trent Reznor's part. But then again for me there is not one single song he has produced that i do not love, for he is such a master at the craft he has chossen. Trent is by far a very talented human being, thanks Trent for being who you are.

And Echoplex and the Four of Us Are Dying. And all the others. I don't particularly like 999,999 or Corona Radiata though.

Love it all...
It took me a bunch of listens to warm up to...especially discipline and echoplex...love the rock stuff... love the instrumental soundscapes...

Best two songs though:
Head Down
Demon Seed
followed closely by Letting You

03/08/09 5:25 AM

Echoplex
Lights in the Sky
Head Down

I enjoyed the whole album. If I had to chose I suppose I would pick "Echoplex" or "Lights in the Sky".

03/17/09 7:39 PM

Head Down, in some ways, takes me back to "The Fragile." Might just be me.

It also leaves me wanting just ONE MORE run through the chorus, so I end up listening to it again. After that, I still want it to go through again...

Lights in the Sky is great in its simplicity. You can get a lot of expression out of running quarter notes if you do it right.
