(edited from before, majorly) tired of all these boring titles, i'm really going to coin up some good ones this time. But i do agree about letting your imagination run rampant with these songs, i could agree. But, it's kind of interesting trying to find the exact emotion or characteristic the song is portraying through titles, because title's always define that certain emotion or characteristic. I am totally hyped about Trent simply naming his songs Ghosts I-IV, 1-36, I just wondered to myself, "What would he had called them, if he wanted to?"
Ghosts I
.Can't (I liked this title a lot, so it was one of the few that didn't get changed. once again, called because it sounds like someone who is beginning to lack the need to do regular things)
.Intoxicated (Same concept with number one, sounded like someone was destroying their life with peer pressure and drugs. and boos.)
.Temptation (This whole song to me sounded like a sneak preview of a demented, insane and perverted guy's mind. With all the tribal fury in the song, I envisioned him looking at women and wonder in his daydreams how he would consomate them, or sacrifice them to some ritual, so temptation was perfect!)
.Demands (The song sounded like a very oppressive person who would stop at nothing to get his/her demands met, while the people on the opposite side of power try to stop it.)
.Drought (The somewhat calm tone with the piano and the background almost sounding like a western-styled theme, the idea drought came upon such at the thought of the western sound of the guitar and of the emotion of dryness you get when you listen to the song.)
.Hap (Hap is part of the word Happy, i did this because I wanted you to envision what the other thought that this person who revolves around this song feels. Strangely, the song seems that the person is happy in the most weirdest of ways...)
.Confusion (The song itself was an array of random synths, drumlines and heavy electric amplifiers, and simply, the song itself was confusing to decipher.)
.Denial (Possibly, the person who reflects this song has a lot of trouble going on in his head, and the people around him try to convince him and intermit him into believing so, but he is so corrupted by the terrible things around him that his denial is absolute to his consent.)
.Forgetting It (I had almost kept the title of this song but i noticed how 'just blurs' seemed to coilate with "the line begins to blur", so i tossed that out. The song reminds me of someone who keeps clinging on to the past, and it is almost impossible for him/her to relieve of that.)
Ghosts II
.Faked (The person displayed in this song seems to fool everyone by using false propaganda and hoodwinking, until his tricks become too obvious.)
.Last Ballet (I should had slapped myself in the face for thinking that using the title of part of a original opera that trent did not credit would be best for this. So, I renamed it to "last ballet" because the opera does seem to cooperate with a simple ballet of the late 19th century.)
.I Have To (when the solo piano part turns into a added drum synth, low bass amplifier and a faster tempo, I summarized the whole song into someone trying to make a decision on a major factor of their life, and once they did, the additions to the simple piano note played in key.)
.Death Dies (once again another kept word, i like how the song portrays a more positive feel on the overall emotion of the ghosts I-IV cd.)
.Common (The song reminded me of a lot of kids getting pulled in by peer pressure to do inappropriate, immature, and plain damn retarded things to look or feel cool, like it was 'common' to do so.)
.During (Another kept title, the song reminded me of how Trent Reznor had rocked the audience during the night, and how the silence rocked the night.)
.Discrepancy (I always find that scientists used this word, and since the song had that chemical lab output, i noticed that the song related to a common mistake that all scientists do: continuing failed experiments. And in the event of failed experiments, there is a discrepancy in if the experiment should go on or not and before they can, the experiment runs rampant and we got ourselves an infection!)
.Growth (following up with discrepancy, it grows and grows and then, everything goes silent.)
.Well Developed (like the last posters "confused robot", i liked the title but i liked to envision the robot being a big transformer that goes through about a 30 year span of decay and construction. throughout the term, graffiti tags, soulless isolation and even shutdowns disturb the once prosperous transformer.)
Ghosts III
.Occupation (I think this song as not just a tension between coworker and coworker, but also between other occupations outside of wages, such as sports or hobbies.)
.Let Me Out (This song reminds me of someone being experimented against his will, several times he tries to escape but he fails, but after the third time, he finally escapes.)
.Learn (I picture this song of someone learning something new, and eventually throughout the years the person begins to master it to almost extreme lengths.)
.Killed Beautiful ( I regret ever using Trash Forest for this song in regard to the video, it was way too specific and it wasn't decent either. I still kept the trash forest concept, but picturing trash as a killer and the forest as beautiful, a few word scrambling and you get this.)
.Absolute (Think of it as someone who has absolute in anything that you can think of, not just in power.)
.Suspected ( I didn't like chasing, so i used Suspected as someone who could be counted for as guilty in a crime and was trying to run. similar, and the title is better too.)
.Not Found ( This song seems to be lost in it's own instruments of the sort, so 'not found' was perfect for the emotion.)
.Absorb (This song reminded me of someone bottling up their emotions towards other people, literally absorbing them.)
.Sickening Me ( I like this song as it reminds me of someone who is constantly annoyed by another person to the point of hate.)
Ghosts IV
.Small Beliefs (This song envisions the person surrounded in this song having small beliefs but not having the motivation to express them.)
.Casually Uncasual (I picture this song as a night walking in town as you notice what could had been strange things seem so modest in that person's angle.)
.Accompany (after much conflict between the two, i decided to go back to the original 'accompany' song for Ghosts 30. it did sound like a run down apartment complex in Tokyo going through the day by day basis.
.Scratched (another kept one, the song reminds me of a great battle with the sarcastic implication that they get 'scratched'.)
.What They Know (This song reminded me of a secret FBI camera that watches over a person's entire life.)
.Continued To (Like denial, the person 'continues to' do the bad things they used to do without any idea they did a bad thing.)
.Aspects (Instead of 4 corners of this world, i like the 4 parts of this song to be a different perspective of each person looking at the same object, view, or event.)
.Pointless (Like demands, there is a person with power but it is now in the perspective of the person who is trying to stop that oppressive being, being pointless.)
.Won't (Since the first song is the same, and i wanted to keep that eytmological cousin sense in the titles, this song is still the same.)
.Unknown Compassion (This song jumped from loud to quiet in random sequences, but it most came upon me like some strange love or passion in somebody.)
.Exorcise (Demon Seed) (The drum beat was exactly from the song demon seed in the slip, but the rest was different. since i didn't want to call it demon seed again, combining exorcist and exercise was perfect for that little demon growing in that person.)
