I'm blown away by all the work I've heard so far. Just half way into the first piece in volume 2. Incredible work.

.................vol II listen complete

cant get enough 12 and 22. vol II was supreme in whole. Really can't get enough of these 2 to be sure though

I don't know if you guys know this, but I am Viscera. Thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed my compositions. Feel free to add me on MySpace by visiting the following link:

I'm currently recording my debut album and plan to have it released within 2 months from now. After that, there will be an intense US tour and then off to Europe. By the way, in regards to 12 Phantom II, there's something you should know about this song...

The piano part that occurs around 3:00 into the song is completely improv and was recorded in one take. I think it'd be a great idea for all the composers to share such details like this about their own work. The photographers and artists are welcome to share as well. Take care.

Peace.

This is really cool man. Two of my submissions follow almost this exact procedure for their entire contsruction, just a few takes of improv. not pieces i slaved over or meticulously assembled, pieces that simply arrived in the result of experimentation, true to the form of ghosts

04/17/09 11:22 PM

well, it is official that the NIN forums contain my favorite artists lol
Phantoms is great guys.
II-IV will be great to dl
III-IV i'm just looking forward to hearing

The new (proposed) project is gonna be cool as well, trust me, it's something you guys should like, but we'll elaborate more on that later, I don't wanna get Rezon8 mad at me for spillin any details before we organize it fully lol

Question: are you going to provide the sorce images with the songs, sorta like what Ghosts did with the individual pictures for each song?

Also, all these tracks are just plain good. Great job everyone.

+1

EVERYONE HAS DONE A KICKASS JOB ON THIS - MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED, AND EXTRA THANKS TO REZNO8 & BLUESCREEN FOR PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER/ONLINE/MULTI-DOWNLOADS!

there's some seriously fucking cool songs on here so far and i'm only up to 8-I. can't wait to hear the rest. nothing sounds repetitive or like a copy of any nin track, something some people were worried about initially.

overall so far, it just sounds like a killer collection of amazing experimental music. there's no track i want to skip past yet which is also pretty damn good, as most albums these days only have a few tracks i really enjoy.

i hope this gets out to a lot of people/podcasts when all volumes are available - this shit needs to be heard smiling smiley

oh, and i think the tagging for each image in the download versions would be perfect, so each image is immediately linked to the song it helped create.

lastly, is it possible to create some kind of slideshow on the site which can scroll through each volume's image as it streams? i have no idea about coding sites outside of embedding HTML, so not sure if it's feasible...

anyway, i'm extremely happy with how this has turned out, and hope more people nin-and-non-nin fans alike check it out.

Yeah guys this is amazing so far =)
I got Phantom I in my iTunes right now and can not stop listening. Its just so awesome. I can't wait for the album art and the other 3 volumes.. So pysched for them!!
And Rezon great great job with ordering these tracks. How its done is so much better than just a random ordering of the tracks.
God everything is so awesome so far. Thanks everyone =)

I submitted an article about the Phantom Project on www.ultimate-guitar.com to spread the word and hopefully get some more people to check it out. The article may or may not be published, I don't know. They'll have it up sometime next week if they decide to publish it.

We can has more volumes today?

All of the songs have id3 tags on them. And if you look at the media player, right under the song name it lists the composer's name. So for example, it would look something like this:

1 Phantom I

Viscera

The Phantom Project Volume 1

So in the example above, Viscera would be the composer's name.

Peace.

04/18/09 1:12 PM

yeah they all worked perfectly for me with id3 tags

04/18/09 1:29 PM

I changed all my id3 tags =P
I made the album The Phantom Project I=IV
and made the artist The Phantom Project so its easy listen on my iPod. haha
Only down side is I won't know who did what track unless I look on [phantom.ninremixes.com]

hmmm...does ipod not have album artist listed differently from track artist or composer?

i know zune does, and i thought ipods beat zunes in most every way, i just happened to be too cheap to get an ipod lol.

check the properties of the mp3 and see if you can make a difference between Album artist and Contributing artist.

hope it works

04/18/09 2:19 PM

You can. So I put people's names in the "composer" section. ut as the song plays on my iPod I wouldn't be able to view that information. Only would be able to on my computer.

Just finished the arrangement for Volume III and will be finishing Volume IV pretty soon. I will have everything sent to BSOD by tonight and you should see the final two volumes of songs and photos uploaded in the next two days. No promises will be made, but we'll do our best ; )

Peace.

sounds good to me. i've posted it up on my myspace so anyone not too lazy can click on the banner & check it out, and i'm thinking of dropping random unnamed links all over the web wherever a 'leave comment' box applies... like maybe spamming the fuck out of rolling stone's website for one tongue sticking out smiley

this project should be a popular one me thinks...
and judging by what i've heard so far, there's no reason for it not to be popular. Phantoms is an amazing compilation so far.

WANTING III-IV
(and downloads for II-IV)
