The Ghosts I-IV Sound ONLY

Okay this is simple. Pick a movie that you would watch with the sound turned off and Ghosts I-IV turned on. ANY movie, your favorite, your most hated movie, whatever. Pick one, if possible, that you think Ghosts would go very well with - whether you like the movie or not...

My pick is The Matrix.

06/13/09 8:56 PM

Fight Club

The Happening ~M. Night Shyamalan~

it's fitting

Okay so today I sat down and watched Fight Club all the way through while Ghosts I - IV played. I put the movie on subtitles, even though I know every line >_<
And as an actual soundtrack I think Ghosts I - IV would work, but as a start to finish work that completely goes together I think it failed.
The only scenes that synched up and sounded good with the music were
1 Ghosts I - Opening Sequence
4 Ghosts I - When we are first introduced to the Penguin power animal and the cave
25 Ghosts III - Tyler's monologue while at Fight Club -
Tyler Durden posted:
"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off. "

fight club is a great movie. also a great read.

Wristcutters: A Love Story. Not saying that the OST wasn't great already, cause if fit abso-fuckin-perfectly, but Ghosts could easily fit in there. Especially the rather quirky, dream-like songs.

I want to say American Beauty.

...So...I will.

I just watched Finding Nemo with Ghosts I-IV. It was more enjoyable then I thought it was going to be. No particular songs/scenes stood out, but it was beautiful sometimes. And also sometimes made no sense.. Like when Nemo was playing dead in the dentist office it was one of the softer songs and I was like no this is all wrong.

But I think I am gonna watch a few other movies and pay more attention to what song is playing during what scene. Because it is just a great experience. I think next I may do Terminator 2 and Ghosts I-IV.

Yeah. Ghosts I-IV is just a great experience altogether.
Anyways, just watched it with Akira. Meh. I love Akira. Pretty sweet actually with Ghosts.

I've yet to watch it with FF7: Advent Children, but I'll bet it'd be pretty cool.

The next logical step would obviously be to play it to a silent movie like Metropolis

I have found it.I didn't know this thread was here, but now im here,so lets do this.

Sweeny Todd:The Demons of Barber St.
You start the music as soon as the dreamworks logo comes on screen(immediately)
I have found this to be the best synch ever.I have watched The Dark Side of Oz,and this blows it out of the water.

I do this every weekend(sych)and i have found some good ones-especially NIN.Another good one is the Fragile Corspe Bride.Tim Burton is an amazing director. You'll be real surprised with The Fragile and The Corpse Bride.

If you like synchs just ask me for some,i have found several really good ones.

My friend and I mixed Ghosts with Daft Punk's Electroma. The movie has no dialogue and it all music So it turned out pretty awesome.

Edit: I'd also like to note that you can't just play Ghosts over this movie. I took a few hours out of a shitty day to sync the music up with the right scenes. I also used a few Ghosts remixes from Remix.NIN and around 5 songs that weren't from Ghosts, such as: La Mer, Leaving Hope.

I totally agree, I was going to suggest Metropolis as well.

doing it right now. I'll see how it goes.

Edit:
This worked a heckuva alot better than I thought it was going to. But it was incredibly hard to watch and not get distracted. I've watched this movie 10 times atleast, and I listen to the sound track all the time so I have the movie music embedded into my brain already.
But when I was paying attention to Ghosts I-IV I really did feel like it worked really well i some parts. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was pretty cool to see Depp hacking away at people while NIN played as the soundtrack.
