Ah, i realized what you were concerned about.

my catalog# and UPC code both match.

Along with the lack of sticker on the actual sleeve itself. I'd take pictures but i have no camera atm.
'Sorry for the double post'

I don't understand? Would it be a fake? anyone have pictures of this?

Fake if:
Vinyl is any color but black. Red, blue, green, etc.
If there is a printed sicker on the back that has the PA logo and such. A PRINTED sticker too. Meaning it cannot be removed.

If you're concerned, check the nincatalog.

My personal concern was nineinchnerds question about my own purchase. I was just double checking.

^^^Fake?

03/11/10 4:29 PM

im calling fake on that.

looks like they printed the sticker on the back of the sleeve and it doesn't look like a fold.

Local media-ish store. They do used games, movies, and now records apparently. I picked up my copy of the Fragile there too.

if anyone else is in need of a copy of TFA: [www.discogs.com]

I like like 2 blocks from their store so I can vouch for the seller.

howcome the records are all colored? my records are black with a picture in the center. Are mine legit?

they look like baconfrenzy's records.

thats about right. [nincatalog.com]

it has a D rating, so it can be found pretty well.

I'm not 100% sold on the rarity ratings. Rarity is such a subjective thing. I think the UK HLAH 12" is a fantastic deal for 3 pounds.

Any vinyl is a deal for that price, except purest feeling.

I just purchased the Back to Black Interscope reissue of The Downward Spiral LP, and was wondering if anyone has compared the sound of the original promo LP and this reissue. Was curious if it was repressed from the original master tapes or if it is the CD master pressed on vinyl. I've seen several people comparing the differences in the look of the two, but not the sound. Any help would be appreciate, thanks!

03/31/10 10:25 AM

^^ From my ears it's the same audio (the back to black and the US promo anyway).

and as far as I know, they are both sourced from a digital master copy, BUT i could be wrong.

03/31/10 12:09 PM

i read somewhere that reissue has pauses between tracks, unlike CD and early presses with continuos sound, but i don't have proof

There are no pauses. I have both.

03/31/10 4:37 PM

I'm testing it right now...

nope, there's no additional space between tracks.

sound exactly the same. although the Promo US LP looks cooler, heavier font, and different paper, but those 180g plates are to die for...

Any idea what nin vinyl my false suggestion could be related to?

04/01/10 3:14 PM

Hey guys, thanks for checking on this for me. Good to know they sound exactly the same, it would be nice to get the original promo LP, but I had a Gift Certificate and could order the reissue. If I find a good deal on a promo in the future I will probably go ahead and get it too.

Anyone got an extra copy of Year Zero on vinyl they'd like to give me a good deal on? smiling smiley

I am also wondering if when the deluxe edition of The Fragile comes out if there will be a repressing of it on vinyl, that would be great considering how expensive they are on eBay and people are making bootleg copies.

I wonder why Trent didnt press his own copies of TDS on vinyl back when the deluxe edition came out, he usually presses every release on vinyl.

When the Reissue came out I compared them on ETS. The lyric sheet that came with the vinyls had the songs split into columns differently, but the vinlys themselves had the same tracks per side. I'd look up the comparison, but I'm lazy.
