I hate this, its total BS that these CDs should sell for such an obscene price. I'm still unsure about their rarity and in the end they are just 3 CD singles. It makes me sick to see NIN fans exploited in such a way and if it were up to me i would boycott all ebay sales of them if not from reputable (i.e. forum members) sellers.
Can i get an amen?

The "We're In This Together" singles are actually very common. The only reason people put them up so high is that they were not released in the old US of A as a 3 part single. It was released in the USA as a single single and either had the album version or the album and radio version. Another reason that they are put up for so much is because they were around for only a short period of time, but during that time, many were made, so they are pretty common.

You just got learned.

Not released per-se. The US versions you're referring to are only promotional. They were never sold officially in retail stores.

I never said they were... HA.

YEah, this sucks. I was fortunate enough to find Pt. 1 & 2 at my local HMV, but I never saw Pt. 3 anywhere other than on eBay.

And I'm simply not ready to pay $100 for it. Sadly, it's the only NIN CD I need to have a complete Halo collection.

11/19/08 12:43 PM

I got all three when they came out (as I always do w/ anything nin). I'd never sell em' though, they're one of the high points of my collection!

11/25/08 7:09 PM

I got all 3 at a used record store like a year ago for $5 each - it made me so happy, cause they never have any NIN stuff other than the regular full length cd's.

11/27/08 2:59 PM

Parts 2 & 3 are the only items that stand in my way in completing my collection.

11/29/08 2:04 PM

So glad I've been a NIN fan for a long time. I bought all of the WITT singles when they came out for $9.00 each. Then on a whim I picked up the WITT promo CD at a record show that year for $12.

Shite, it's nice to see how sought out all of these are though!

Tara
..the one thing I didn't pick up that I regret is the Down In It CD single.. It was the one CD single of NIN that I figured wasn't worth picking up because I had the songs on alternate singles. Bah.

11/29/08 3:55 PM

I bought all 3 (plus SIN) off ebay for 200 over the summer.

I recently walked into a local store with 6 bucks and left with WITT pt.3 and 50 cents.

do the math smiling smiley

I have NM copies of the WITT singles #’s 1 & 3 that I’m looking to sell. If anyone is interested please PM me.
Thanks

Same here. I love those 3 overpriced singles. Something about getting them when they first arrived at MediaPlay made me feel like a happy nin collector.

12/18/08 10:21 PM

I got one in the states for $12 at my local record store, and picked up the other two in London. I sold all of them along with the Into the Void australian cd. I needed a car, but damn, now I feel I should have found alternate ways to get money. I did find another green one. Some I'm happy for now. I need Yellow and Orange!!!!!

i bought part 1 and 3 at an oblivious record store in down town pittsburgh for $4.00 each!!!

i wish they had part 2 thats the one im looking for its the only official release i dont have!

I have all 3, but they are burned to 1 disc. Since people are taking advantage of the prices, would anyone be willing to burn them to separate discs and print the disc label? Maybe make $5 for your time or something?

I don't have a way to do this, or I would do it myself. This would be a way to avoid paying rediculous prices for the real thing that wasn't released here in the U.S. anyways.

It's not fair to us as a consumer to pay $200.00+ for 9 songs. It's dumb. But as completists, we have no choice.

Anyone willing to help the community with this?

Your thoughts?

Not a bad idea...when physical CDs die out in the near future, this is probably the only way to make the newer releases look good in our already prehistoric CD collections. Wish I could help you out, I'm sure someone has the goods to create those for you.

but as a completist, it wouldn't feel complete if you didn't have the real thing.
so it doesn't really help for collectors

Yeah sure! Hey, maybe I'll do 10... could sell them on eBay... stuff your $5, these babies are worth $150!

Don't mean to be harsh, but if you are going to have pirate copies, why bother dividing your one cd into three?

The world doesn't need any more NIN bootlegs.

Would be nice to have this single as one CD with 7 tracks (WITT full, TMH, TNF, WITT edit, COTF, TPD long, TDTWWA Porter Ricks). I would gladly buy such thing for 15 USD.

Yeah I would like to own just 1 of these. Not enough money, thumbs down

I found them on Amazon for at lowest $45, $40, and $29.
if only i had a credit card... :/

it would be nice to get the set of the 3 WITT discs, but with all the different versions that are out there, i'm becoming quite confused about what ones make up the real set. i don't want vinyl, i don't want promos, i just want the 3 WITT discs that make up halo 15 as a whole. can someone show me just those?

there are 2 'main' WITT releases.

1. The EU discs
2. The 'Made in Sweden' discs

almost no difference between the two sets, except the swedish ones normally have a 'made in sweden' sticker on the back, and might be a tad rarer.

full info here

I have been researching the WITT singles on Ebay and Amazon, and so for this is what I have found out and correct me if I'm wrong because I don't own these yet.

First though let me say this about Ebay and Amazon if the seller tells you its in Good condition its in poor condition, if the seller tells you its in mint condition its in fair condition. They lie on both those sites, and I buy a lot of shit being cd collector in general of a lot of artists not just NIN.
I have had better experiences here be it limited. The prices quoted earlier on this thread for Amazon are the bottom of the barrel prices for good or fair condition that means poor, for mint its $99 to $250 and that means fair condition.

Track listing for

We're In This Together Part 1

1) We're In This Together ( unedited version)
2) 10 Miles High
3) The New Flesh

So this is worth it for two tracks not found on the Fragile cd.

We're In This Together Part 2

1) We're In This Together
2) The Day The World Went Away ( quiet version)
3) The Day The World Went Away ( Porter Rick Mix)

Worth it for remixes

We're In This Together Part 3

1) We're In This Together
2) Comlications Of The Flesh
3) The Perfect Drug

Worth it for unreleased track

There could be differences let me know if different.

Here's a reply from our 'sick' man.

There's only one EU WITT cd release. They're all made in Germany: look at the border (near the hole) of the disk.
Variants were created by stickering them (made in SWE, made in HOL etc etc)
The Japanese release stands on its own (and does not have that note).

Still looking for that 'one track' US promo CD.............
